Peanuts

[edit]

Hello... please note that, as with all fictional works on Wikipedia, the correct approach is to use the present tense. Accordingly, the lead sentence should read "Peanuts is...", not "Peanuts was..." The strip may be out of production, but it still exists as a creative work. This treatment is consistent with how we write about television series, books, films, and so on. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions about this matter. Cheers. --Ckatzchatspy 04:21, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the approach can be confusing when the tenses are mixed; this is a frequent question with regards to television series as well. However, I find it helps to approach it this way: the creative work still exists as a body of work, so Peanuts is a comic strip. (That fact doesn't change unless the entire body of work is destroyed.). However, it is no longer in production, so it ran (past tense) from X to X. Thanks again. --Ckatzchatspy 05:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Miike Huckabee

[edit]

You deleted 33 Kb of text on the Mike Huckabee page and marked the edit "minor". Do you know what you are doing with TW? RobRedactor (talk) 07:57, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't feel so bad, RobRedactor didn't bother to restore the text you removed. ThuranX (talk) 13:48, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application

[edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, DonVincenzo. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. βcommand 16:53, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: I Am Legend trailer

[edit]

Hi; I'm sorry you were left uncertain as to the reasons behind my removal of the information you added. I should have provided a better edit summary explaining my position. I shall attempt to do so now: I removed the information because you provided a link to a second trailer for the film, coupled with your (likely correct; I haven't watched it) interpretation of the trailer's contents. No matter how accurate the information is, Wikipedia considers this original research; that is, an editor's interpretation of something they've seen. Current rules state that such additions are not permitted. Linking to the trailer is fine, but in order for the article to contain the brief summary of its contents and the extrapolation from it w/regard to the alternate ending, it also needs to be cited to a reliable secondary source; e.g. a newspaper or respected website which makes the same connection as you did. Hope this helps, Steve TC 00:12, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TV.com

[edit]

Unfortunately, TV.com is not a reliable source for information. It's the same thing as IMDb, which uses user submitted information as sources, and not actual official confirmations. TV.com gets their Smallville information from the fansite Kryptonsite.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 02:07, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FILMS Questionnaire

[edit]

As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!
