Speedy deletion of CDS Global

[edit]

A tag has been placed on CDS Global, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. KurtRaschke (talk) 23:19, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As reviewing administrator, I think the article is just good enough to pass speedy, but probably will be nominated for regular deletion. Please see our Business FAQ for further advice about fixing it. DGG (talk) 00:53, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"tone" was not the exact word. What is needed is some information to show not just how the business was founded, and what it bought, but what it does and why it is important. The suitable information is first, paragraph about its services, not written as PR,but as you might describe it to a friend who asks what the company does. And then, some basic quantitative information--what is the volume of business & the number of employees, and if it is possible to talk about market share in this particular industry, do so. If there is a particularly notable client or two, list them. I gather it is privately owned, and it should say so. It helps to use the appropriate infobox-- go to [1] for instructions. As for references, are there any outside DesMoines? I'll keep track of the article. DGG (talk) 15:18, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flagging CDS Global for further review

[edit]

Hello, Donny Scott … I recently encountered the article about CDS Global and in my opinion, it either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Organizations and companies, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it violates a copyright.

I am considering tagging CDS Global (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for deletion according to the Deletion policy … I do not have time to examine the article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.

I have created this initial entry on your Talk page because you are either the original author of the article, or else a recent contributor to it; I will leave more detailed information regarding my specific concerns about the article on its Discussion page … please respond either there or on this Talk page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.

Be sure to read Ownership of articles, and remember that other editors may not share your opinion about the notability of the article's subject.

I do not mean to imply that your contribution is unappreciated … perhaps you should read Your first article … and remember, there was a time when I knew less about how Wikipedia works than you know right now, and I am always available to help you become a more proactive contributor. It would be even better if the NYT article talked about it substantially. I know this is the sort of business which usually does not get much public attention. DGG (talk) 14:09, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
References have been added to verify the acquisition section, including an article from The New York Times. Donny Scott (talk) 16:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking for assistance with the CDS Global page. After receiving comments from a few admins and adding what I feel are verifiable, third-party references, the page still includes a "verification" and "notability" tag. What more must be added to the article to correct these issues, or have the additions already resolved the issue (in which case the tags should be removed)?
