Hi, I noticed you edited the template today. Now, the closing quote is very close to, or even overlaps, the source at the bottom. Is it possible to increase the spacing? Given the warning on the page, I don't think I should try myself! Thanks, JRawle (Talk) 21:38, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

No. Hmm, the quote marks seem to be 12px farther away from where I intended them to be. I'll work on it in Firefox browser this time and see what I can do to fix it. Thanks for the heads-up! —Down10 ^TACO 00:29, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Template:Infobox Game

You've recently been making some edits which Aldaron has brought to my attention as they break the look of the template in various ways for him. I have reverted some of these changes, though not all - some of them have been great edits, such as adding the template to the Game templates category. I think it would be a good idea for the two of you to discuss what you think should be done on the article's talk page before further edits are made to the template. Okay, I will. These were mostly cosmetic adjustments, but if the layout is breaking on other platforms than mine (Firefox/Mac OS X), then I'll be more careful about making any rash alteations. Typeface infobox

Hi Down 10. A new infobox has been in development for a while. Here is what it is most likely going to look like: User:Atanamir/TypeBox.

Atanamir and I have collaborated a bit on this. I first proposed this:User talk:Atanamir#Font infoboxes etc, and Atanmir has quieted it down further and added the nice tab which allows information break free, I am very much trying to avoid intersecting horizontal and vertical rules (lines) they can create what Edward Tufte in his book Envisioning information calls "info prisons." The old info box creates a huge bit of jangling visual noise with its assertive horizontals and verticals in an environment that should be relatively quiet and allow for the letterforms to come to the fore. I do appreciate your desire for quick perusal of information. I perhaps have a higher threshold for reading a caption than you do. Arbo has participated in this as well, and left some comments on my talk page. Sorry to step on your toes, but I have tried, as a stop gap measure, to quiet the page down in the short term by using captions. As a graphic deisgner I find many of the infoboxes here to be incredibly jarring and that they often overtake their content. Tints of gray, horizontal rules that are white or a ligherer or darker fray can create structure, a framework for organizing information, without overtaking the content. Hi Down10. On the infobox, could you please make the typeface name the same point size as the rest of the text there, I think there is plenty of hierrchy provided by it being the first thing, and bewing in bold weight. I showed the infobox to a typeface designer here in Boston and he suggested we use "Design date" and release date" as they often are differnt. I think second words like date can be lowercase with Wiki style, as they are not proper nouns. Ellen Lupton's great book "Thinking WIth Type" uses a similar hierarchy. Hi Down10, Arbo, and atanamir. Looks like the typeface infobox is very close. I wonder if you could please take a look at Template:TypeBox and see a comparison between the box, and a secondary illustration I've added from the Georgia page. Any chance of reducing the horizontal spacing between rule and type (is this what is called "padding") a hair to match what happens with wiki images and captions? Also, might we lighten the vertical and horizontal rules to match the light gray used around images? it will still define and contain, just liberate the text a bit. Hi. I mean the distance between the vertical rule (line) and type. I am guessing that this is called padding. My desrire was to reduce it a little so that its distances looked like what wiki does when it puts a box arounfd a caption (why I added the other image). I am not suhggesting putting any image in the the box, that was just as an illustration of spacing. Sounds like a lot of this is not customizable, in which case, let's not worry about it. I thought it would be nice if it were coinsistent with the light gray wiki uses around images, that's all. Best, CApitol3 22:58, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
