Welcome![edit]

Hello, Dpere049, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Notes[edit]

Hi! I have some notes for you:

  • This is written from a very casual, conversational standpoint and has some issues with tone. You want to write in a more formal tone, as this will make the writing more neutral and avoid it coming across as promotional - even if it wasn't intended to be promotional.
  • We can only summarize what has been explicitly stated in the source material - we cannot create our own observations or connections. Any interpretations from the source material must be attributed in a way so that it doesn't come across as our own original research.

I have some more notes via your instructor, but I'm going to go through and do some cleanup here and there, as well as some formatting, to give a general idea of how the writing style should look. It can honestly take a while to get used to the style on here, so hopefully you won't take any of this badly - it certainly took me a while!
