Thank you for the effort. I seem to remember reading about it somewhere but can't locate it now. I do remember reading in Peter Mckridge 2009 in the book regarding National Identity in Greece and Language that Greek historiography switched to using the term Hellenes to refer to the Romaioi of the ERE in the mid-19th century so it would be interesting to find out if the two changes happened at around the same time.--Anothroskon (talk) 20:56, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Unfortunately I could not find a citation to connect both the Byzantine term and the associated Greek term in the 19th century and the one I found was peripheral. This is one time when Google-based online sources are not good enough to cover such specialised facts. Anyway it seems the two changes happened at around the same time but I wonder if the fact as currently stated in the article may be original research which was added by someone in the past who just connected these two facts together. About Mosques in Cyprus issue

Sir Dr.K I would like to express you my concerns over the pictures of mosques in Cyprus. I live in Cyprus and I know that this mosques don't exist in Cyprus non occupied land and belong to the so called Northern Cyprus which is actually Turkish occupied part of Cyprus which Turks invaded, killed thousands of women and children and reverted all christian churches into mosques. So if I find you also agreed I would like to clear pictures of Mosques of Cyprus because are not actually existing in this country except from Halla Sultan Mosques. Do you agree my friend?

List of patents awarded to Hendrik Wade Bode

Hi, thanks for your thoughts on merging his list of patents into the article itself. I understand that long lists of items may make the main article hard to read. I am surprised to see that presented as a problem in this case, for two reasons: First, the article on Bode himself is much longer than the list itself, so that the article would hardly be "just" the patent list. Second, you write that "it was suggested that" the list be split out into a separate article. That suggestion was made as part of peer review in 2008; you've clearly done significant work on the main article since. The fact that someone suggested it two years ago doesn't necessarily (IMHO) mean that this has to stay as a separate list.

In any case, it seemed odd to see an article that was simply a list of information culled from a longer article, when that list is a closed set and there are no other "List of Patents of ..." articles. If the original reason for it being split out continues, then the discussion is indeed over - and yes, it's proper to discuss such a disagreement instead of just reverting it. Regarding your removal of Aristotle Onassis' image from the infobox, could you specify where WP:Fair use policy disallows fair use images from infoboxes? I can't quote the relevant policy section but it is something that happened to me in the past when I put a picture in an infobox and a local FUR expert reverted me after some time, although I don't recall the exact details. I personally have never used it (and don't plan to), but take a look at Wikipedia talk:STiki and User_talk:HJ_Mitchell/Archive_30#Wikipedia:STiki for recent opinions/questions. I am afraid that no edit summary can justify your blanking of a whole paragraph including the citation in the article without you providing an alternative citation to support your assertions. Hi Airplaneman. I had given this user a warning for blanking, but after I investigated further the blanking by the IP was in good faith. Therefore I returned to their talkpage to remove the warning. Upon arriving there the IP had already placed the U1 template on their talk but with the wrong parameters. Given that there was no history to preserve I fixed the template the IP placed. By the way talk pages get deleted sometimes for various reasons. I have a few examples, one actually from today concerning a long-time user and another similar one from an IP but due to privacy concerns I will provide them to you if you really want them. That's true. I guess it's really how we interpret the "no history to preserve" part (@ WP:DELTALK - it mentions MfD as a way to delete talk pages if the need arises), but I don't think U1 can apply to talk pages, only copy-pasted talk page archives. I'm curious: was the talk page of a long-time user deleted via U1 or MfD? I can understand the deletion of the IP's talk page due to privacy concerns. Yougomedia

Now that makes much more sense. I don't see the intent SPA, and I chose the username simply for simplicity of consolidating my usernames online to one, rather than 1000 usernames with all the forums and online services I use. I see the misconception since it is a new account with two edits in the same area, however, I can assure you I have a much broader area of interest and only happened to land on two articles requiring extra resources.

Q about personal attack

Thank you very much for the support you are explaining to me about the GFDL issue between mine and Sanlakas' pages. I have another question if that is ok, about personal attacks. I am not an expert at this subject and some of the advanced rules in Wikipedia, but I'd appreciate help about this matter because it's been happening for a while. After I had talks with User:DisneySalt about uploading fair use logos, the user still has bad attitude and false semi-daily attacks on his or her's user talk about me. It disappoints me that the user is attacking me wherever I contribute to some Philippine articles mostly on the logos by just reverts. I understand that it was partially my fault too about reverting too much and just forget about it, but I don't know what to do anymore. What makes me disgusted the most is the edits here. Is this counted as a personal attack? I don't want to talk to the user because I am too uncomfortable to talk about this over and over. I doubt this is allowed, it's untolerable bullying which upsets me. I don't know what to do at all. I apologize if this isn't your strong subject. Hi Dudejerome. Per WP:REMOVED a user is allowed to remove certain types of warnings from their talkpage. So DisneySalt was allowed under the guidelines to do so with respect to your warnings. On the other hand they should not refactor your remaining comments by adding their comments within your comments. This is not a good practice because it misleads the reader. The link you provided shows that DisneySalt replied to your comment after they modified yours. It is not good practice to modify a comment and then reply to it but their reply is not a personal attack per se. It just refers to the practice of uploading multiple files of the same subject. It does not refer to you personally but rather to the practice of uploading separate files, so it is not a personal attack. As far as uploading an image multiple times by different editors to the same filename is concerned, the practice is allowed. The upload log has all the different file versions uploaded so all uploaders get mentioned. So you get credit for whatever version you uploaded. I suggest you don't send this editor any more warnings and let this incident cool. Let me know if there are any other concerns you may have. Take care. Regulars like David Tombe should know that deleting properly sourced content from articles is generally considered to be vandalism. So I restored the content and gave him the standard warning. Please do not remove my comments from other user's talk pages unless you are convinced that the comment was made in bad faith, which, in view of your edit summary, you apparently do not. Giving editors with whom you are in a dispute vandalism warnings using vandalism templates is misuse of the templates and goes contrary to WP:BRD. I assumed good faith of you the first time. But now that you have restored the template I am starting to doubt. I think your tone coming here to demand undoing my reversion shows that you do not understand the gravity of your actions. Also I quote from: Wikipedia:Rollback#When_not_to_use_rollback: Rollback should not be used to undo good-faith changes in content disputes unless an appropriate edit summary is used. Misuse of rollback may cause the feature to be revoked by any administrator. You also misused your rollback in a content dispute against a good-faith editor. Conversation in Greek

Hi, I have read via google translate your exchange in Greek with the user Weatherextremes. The translation I get is very unclear but it seems to me that he is trying to insinuate manipulatory interventions from my side. Based on your "Who" and your contribs I am sure you can evaluate by yourself. I invite you to check my contribs in the Athens article (climate). I have entered precise and academically based sentences and quotations, and I have dropped sentences with "ill" (under goood faith assumption) references. I invite you also to verify my references, at least the ones that the guy has'nt yet deleted. As you can see in the discussion (if the guy has'nt removed these evidences) I have checked one by one dozens of climatic bulletins in order to assess the claim that according to NOA Athens is etcetera etcetera, and I found it to be "ill" (againg, with the best good faith assumptions; without this assumption I would say "false"). This is verifiable: anyone can do and everyone will find the same result I got. I did the same for the reference regarding Elefsina being the warmest etcetera according to HNMS and I read a 440 pages book in greek (a feasibility study for an industrial project) by google translator in order to verify if that claim is present or is made evident by the means of empirical data or climatological professional operators or scientific researcher statements, and I found the claim unsupported by the book. This is also verifiable: anyone can do and everyone will find the same result I got. I have reported the results of such checks (fail + fail, the references were wrong) and a couple of days later they were deleted. I re-entered them. Now attacks have been done to the Urban Heat Island block, totally vandalized, dropped the first research paper about (Katsoulis and Theoharatos 1985), entered original but wrong implications obtained by joining parts of sentences and inconsistent with more recent research results and explicit wordings by scientific research autors. For instance I have in my hands research papers finding +6°C urban heat island effect inside one of Athens parks, when the sentence in the Athens article is that parks are unaffected. Moreover a new reference for the claim that Thiseio and Elefsina are the warmest etcetera has been entered in the article: I. Livada, M. Santamouris, K. Niachou, N. Papanikolaou and G. Mihalakakou (2002). "Determination of places in the great Athens area where the heat island effect is observed". Theoretical and Applied Climatology Volume 71, Numbers 3-4, 219-230. I invite you to check personally if these authors really say that and if they really say or make evident by tables of empirical data that the NOA weather station of Thiseio is not affected by UHI as a recent revision says, because the two times I tested the references of that guy I found them to be false. I am searching a full text of this article but I haven't yet retrieved it and I have not access to that resource. I am personally skeptical about physics researchers advancing similar sentences; maybe professional climatologists would. I can not and I do not accuse precise people of anything, but I feel that these editings with the introduction of wrong references and deletion of good references belong to a string of events such as the repeated vandalization of the national and continental temperature records page by Maximiliano Herrera (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Maxcrc see discussion and history) that seems aimed to delete from the sight of the public that the +48°C recorded in Elefsina and Tatoi in 1977 is not the highest temperature recorded in Europe (it is only the WMO-members European highest), the repeated manipulatory vandalization of the Catenanuova page with the same aim, but edits and manipulations that delete referenced statements often are done by different users and IP even if a common background of claiming unsupported statements about Athens climate and deleting embarrassing rfutations of them is perceived. This does not happen only in Wikipedia but you can detect clues of a sort of opinion manipulation campaign of this kind also in several national weather forums. I do not suggest you terms to google-search, but I suggest to search also in Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, so to hear also the other bells. The main problem of this campaign both in Wikipedia and in national weather forums is that it taints what is not unrealistic, by the use of not always innocent logical biases, untrue assertions, false references, and personal attacks. The things that are said about Athens climate are often quite reasonable and would deserve to be scientifically evaluated, but they are said so improperly and so maliciously that readers get inclined to reject them because they evoke the heuristics of ad hominem. See for instance this: http://www.meteopt.com/forum/climatologia/ilha-de-calor-urbano-4816.html When the academic clues that Athens is so hot partially due to urban heat island get strong, the user advocating the pure and natural heat of Athens gets aggressive and adopts malignant insinuations about his very prepared contender. Another example is in the "Athens" article discussion, just the last entry ("Hello Borat.Do your homework mate"). Offensive nicknames, slanders, damnable insinuations, etcetera (penal code stuff), things that would figure better in a saloon than in Wikipedia. Weather forums are full of discussions like this. I am sorry to bother you with these ignoble materials. Errors in scientific argoumentation and adulterate references may not be tolerated at all and nobody would like to read about them.

By the way, when I reach the number of contribs to edit again the page (now I can't) I'll fix the Athens urban heat island block, even if it will be almost immediately vandalized again. Best regards Amending (talk) 17:41, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

I checked our conversation in Greek with Google translate and it wasn't that bad. So you must have seen that I replied that meteorological matters don't matter to me all that much. It seems that you are in a content dispute with this editor. I suggest that you seek some sort of dispute resolution. If I can help in that respect please let me know. It appears that both you and Weatherextremes are knowledgeable and intelligent users. There is no reason under these circumstances that you could not find some sort of accommodation. Hi Dr.K and Borat.I think Borat is a tad oversensitive due to past history in meteorological forums with me.I have backed up all my edits both in Athens and Catenanuova and will also fix any unrealistic arguments about the Athenian summer climate,especially those that imply that Thiseio has a strong UHI by adoption of random overgenerilizations that apply for the rest of Athens.

While Borat accuses me of some sort of campaing or whatever I see that he tries to imply with overgeneralizations that Thiseio station in particular is heavily influenced by the UHI.The main issue here is clear.First a personal problem with me from the past and secondly and most importantly Borat has gotten himself into this mess after seeing that Athens is indeed by far the warmest area in Europe during the summer.We have witnessed his comparative climatology and my constant refutes in his Italian forum and thus he mostly dreads that Athens and SPECIFICALLY Thiseion station is not affected by the UHI!In the Athens article the references are there for anyone to see.

Lastly Dr.K i also think we need some dispute resolution over in this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catenanuova.

Btw,what is wrong in telling someone to do their homework Borat?Obviously you are not well read and probably insecure about Athens earning the accolade of warmest area in Europe during the summer (which off course it is)and WeatherExtremes being right
