Drmies, welcome to Wikipedia. Your edits have been extremely helpful at cleaning up a number of articles. Messy, poorly-edited pieces are a huge problem here, not the the least because of piecemeal changes without an eye for narrative, and simple sloppiness on the part of contributors. Nonetheless, I think you should refrain from making judgments and dismissive comments about articles. Referring to things as "terrible," "messy," "horrible," or any similar terms is really unnecessary, adding a sense of know-it-all-ism and disdain for others that benefits no one. Moreover, it may very well scare away contributors who would benefit from not necessarily a polite correction, but rather a succinct and objective one. Furthermore, it's in no way specific, so really tells other editors only your opinion.

But IMO, the statement "but Roy is not alone in her support for Kashmiri independence: mainstream editors such as Vir Sanghvi, executive editor of the mass-circulation Hindustan Times, have argued similarly" seems irrelevant. 1 ) That doesnt matter whether some non-notable policeman bought forest land. Roy has postured herself as a defender of tribals and aboriginal rights, and her critics take that move as hypocrisy (which it may or may not be). We can note three others, but its irrelevant who the non-notables are because of how this appears to some to contradict Roy's crusades for aboriginal rights. This interview in the left wing rag the Guardian should explain what I mean [1].
2) The burden of proof does not actually rest on me for that. See you are making the statement that newspapers havent covered it. Unless a news article actually notes that coverage has ceased, its unsourced (and as this column in the Daily Pioneer proves, untrue to boot).Pectoretalk 22:00, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
re 1--It does matter. A police official doing something illegal? BTW, not a police official--the article states clearly, a doctor who works for the police and a forest official. A forest official, mind you, building on forest land. (There is a discrepancy between the article in the Telegraph the the one in the Times of India, but there's no police official.) What you could argue (but there are no facts to support this, only suspicions) is that Roy is working very well with the establishment--police and forest overseers--but that would be a strange claim to make for you, since you wish to paint her as an extremist. Extremists don't work with such notables (and notable they must be, if only in their own community).
re 2--Of course that burden lies with you. Finding a source to prove that no source says anything, that is illogical. Now, but you don't say this, and you should have, there is a sort of a follow-up, on 26 June 2006, which claims that action would have had to be taken by 7 July--of 2006. Now, sir, I ask of you: what happened on or after 7 July 2006? Nothing, it seems, which suggests that nothing was made of it. (Whether that is good or bad for the forest is another matter). If anything had happened, it would be all over the papers, and certainly all over that sify website. It's not. Moreover, you introduced a grammatical error (lack of subject-verb agreement) and two punctuation errors (a comma separating subject and predicate, and a sentence ending with two periods ). Moving that note to the middle of the sentence also makes little sense--it should be at the end of the sentence, or even further down.
As soon as you make the case that the newspapers have covered something on those bungalows since the charge and the deadline (which was quite some time ago--more than two years) you can claim that there's really something there. In the meantime, the claim that the newspapers haven't said anything more stands--it is a factually correct statement, with the serious implication that this simply wasn't such a big deal, no matter how much you want to suggest. And besides, if this is such a big deal, why don't you add the note to the article on Vikram Seth also? I'll do you a favor and correct the errors, move the two references around (so they are in the correct chronological order), and adjust a word or two. You'll have to live with it, until you find evidence that this is more than a neighborly dispute. And you'll see that I'm actually finding a middle route here between Roy detractors who will latch on to anything to blacken her character and those who take facts more seriously than innuendo. 1) I dont paint Roy in any way. However, notice how the title's all point to Roy, and Seth's sister. Because this is somewhat contradictory to Roy's "work" among tribals, the Hindu nationalists and other critics term it "hypocrisy". If the other people were notable, they would name the forest official. The fact the newspapers disagree on who the other law breaker was merely further proves their irrelevancy. As for Seth, if it was remotely related to his notability (as in people criticized Vikram Seth for it) then yes, I would make a note. So far I haven't yet seen such an article.
2) That burden does not lie with me. Unless you have read every newspaper in India (and keep in mind Hindi and other languages have more circulation than English language ones), which I of course doubt is humanly possible, then there is no way to prove it has not been covered. You do need a source, since you are making the assertion. I am removing the unsourced assertion that "newspapers have not covered it in the last two years". That is of course a legitimate edit, as opposed to an unprovable and sneaky phrase to minimize a very notable incident. The point is that criticism came of the incident, and if you are correct about it not being covered now, thats because it was an incident. Also, I'm not even sure what Sify has to do with this, or what it really is, but I'm guessing some partisan drivel that Raulmisir wants to cite?
3) Wikipedia isn't a class on English mechanics, and I really could care less about my punctuation and grammar as long as it looks right. The page is never going to be an FA if you insist on apologizing for every one of Roy's missteps. It will be an FA if the page notes correctly the controversies that came of Roy's actions. I'm noting how it was perceived in the media, and the criticism she received in a dispassionate manner, with no coloring of the issue, and no apologizing for her actions. Well, Pectore, it's pretty useless trying to argue logic with you. I'll try to keep it simple: if you want to prove that something has been in the news, you have to show a news item that shows that something. That's pretty elementary. If you want to claim, explicitly or implicitly, that this somehow still matters, you have to prove it. Basic logic. Once again, if something is notable, it will be noted. This wasn't notable and isn't noted anymore.
You're right--Wikipedia isn't a class (?) on English mechanics (you mean spelling and grammar?): contributors to Wikipedia should take that class before they just start typing. The ungrammaticality of your contributions and their lack of structural and logical cohesion say enough about the actual content of your remarks. Hi! I see that you were one of the participants in the recent AfD on the article Christianity and Judaism. That AfD recommended (in a snowball result) that the article be merged into Judeo-Christian. However, since the AfD concerns have been raised, most notably
The reason the article Judeo-Christian exists, as its own hatnote declares, is specifically to survey the history and use of that word-phrase -- which has its own controversy, and its own tale to tell. (See here where I've set things out in a bit more detail.) That story is a good fit for its own article, and will get completely lost if the contents of Christianity and Judaism get inappropriately dumped on top of it.
Having contacted the closing admin, his advice was to open a new discussion at Talk:Christianity and Judaism, advertise the discussion widely, and if a new consensus can be reached in that discussion [his emphasis], then per WP:CCC the new consensus should be followed, rather than the AfD decision, without the need for a DRV or a new AfD.

I believe your various delete votes were made in the best of good faith. The question though, is in the nom's good faith.. not your own. The nom's very first act within seconds of the account being created... before making a spelling correction... before adding a source to an article... before making a comment at a discussion... before asking a question of another editor... before themself partcipating in an AfD discussion... was to nominate an article for AfD. Not quite what is seen from a newcomer to Wiki. After a WP:SPA was alluded to by User:Cumulus Clouds, the nom made a few edits to other "S" articles and actually found a few that were truely deficient in notability. Yep, I understand your point about simplicity. And it's true that there's no consensus on citations -- and consistency within an article is the most important thing. However, every citation system uses last name first, not because of any alphabetical listing, but to more easily identify the 2nd listing of a individual source, which as you know, will appear simply as last name, date and page number. So, in a long list of references or later in the bibliography, it is easy to locate the first use of the reference. I've used Wikipedia:Citation templates, and often try to stick with Harv refs. And I try to follow the FA articles as a reminder (although I often fail while working on my usual stubs and start articles). But something like Mario Vargas Llosa is a good how-to example of all Harv refs, while Joseph Priestley House shows an APA mix. Umm... is this a tad much for an article like Flush!: The Scoop on Poop throughout the Ages? Hi Smile--it is better alright, and I am sure there's potential here. See, the problem is that the opening sentence describes what this is, and the rest describes (like a cookbook) how to do it, but the claim that it is a significant process is not asserted, let alone proven. I mean, who would want to grow nanocrystals and why? (That's the question an encyclopedia should answer also.) Also, the article from 'V' to 'result' is pretty poorly written, and I don't even understand what that's doing there, in part because, for instance, the sentence starting 'V' is ungrammatical. Are there two vapors in that sentence? You inherited this article and you're defending someone else's work, and that's great, and I appreciate your effort. I'd edit it if I knew what this was about.
This article needs much more correctness, so to speak, and much more about what this process is and why it matters, really. I'll go neutral on the AfD, and I do believe there's promise. Thanks for the good work, and thanks for keeping me posted. Drmies (talk) 15:24, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

It must be pointed out that the Electra spawned two very influential artists: Chris Manak (Peanut Butter Wolf) and visual artist, Jeff Carlson (Jeff Jank). Jeff has been featured in several reputable publications and is an award winning artist. It is of great musical and historical significance that both of these artists began in one group, showing their musical and artistic journey. They are both very important in underground Hip Hop. I recommend that this article remain up. Both Jeff and Chris have won international music and art awards, both have been featured in mainstream publications, both are in history books. I'm grossly misunderstanding hip-hop history? Thanks for pointing that out. I assume I'm betraying my age and my Southernness when I admit I have never heard of either one, as influential as they may be. But allow me to note that I never said either one of these two is non-notable, so if you want to say that I am guilty of this gross misunderstanding, well, that would be very incorrect. Please tell me where I said that, if I did, and if I didn't, please don't be so quick on the draw. I did say The electra is non-notable, and nothing in the article or elsewhere has so far convinced me that I'm wrong about that.
But while we're on the topic, Jeff Carlson doesn't have an article on WP, and that may mean something. Chris Manak's article actually features not a single 'mainstream' publication as a reference, let alone a history book (what history books?). Ancient Persian problems

I see. You know, since I never thought of them as EPs I didn't even look down the list, or I would have seen them in the article. The Dutch entry on The Ex doesn't specify what it is precisely, but the label's site says "CD/VINYL", which is why I added it as a CD. But it's no biggy to me, I'm glad it was there in the first place and wish I had looked down. You know what, I'll try to get my hands on the CD--a friend of mine occasionally works for them. Lucifugum and related pages
Just a heads-up... the editors disrupting the Lucifugum page by removing the unreferenced tags and the like are also behaving unhelpfully concerning the articles for members of the band... Khlyst (musician) is up for AfD but the AfD tag was removed from the article without edit summary and the Stabaath (musician) article, which has been twice speedied (A7) in the last week, is being repeatedly recreated. I'm not entirely sure what the due process is regarding disruptive editors of this sort, but I have added a speedy tag to Stabaath and mentioned the Khylst issue on its AfD page. Yes, it would be about authorship - not ownership. You could vote for redirect, if you think the name Walter Paisley is worth keeping as a redirect, or you could vote for a move to the Dick Miller talk page and then redirect, that would leave Walter Paisley as a redlink (after deleting the resulting redirect), but preserve the history. - Mgm|(talk) 18:59, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

I'll have a look at improving the article... three albums on Vinyl Solution should be fine for notability (and if I remember correctly, didn't they have one on a major label? EastWest or something? For a death metal band, that's huge). Also, their album Death Shall Rise was listed somewhere in Terrorizer's Top 30 Death Metal Albums of All Time, which may be another claim to notability, I suppose. You never went to the Efteling? I'm sorry to hear that. You don't know the fun you've missed. Anyway, I think Monsieur Cannibale would be a reasonable search term, so I'd like to ask you to consider redirection instead of deletion. Also, while individual attractions might not be suitable for an article, I'm trying to bring together a list of all the attractions with relevant information like opening year, years of construction, creators and the like. Not sure yet if I'm going to expand the main list at the Efteling or create a new one, but in either case again a redirect would be appropriate. - Mgm|(talk) 10:26, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
De Efteling is such a big part of Dutch culture that I'd be very suprised if I couldn't dig up any sources. From memory, the list of attractions in the main article is pretty complete in the sense that most big attractions are named, but I think it could be improved and by keeping the histories of the separate articles stored somewhere while redirecting the titles, it gives me help in finding which information I'd want to source. Other attractions I'd like to source the separate articles on. The Python must've had some records in its early days and PandaDroom has a notable connection to the WWF. And the Fairy Tale Forest is what got the whole park started (when my mother was young, there was nothing else). If you have access to some propriety database that might include useful information, then I'd be very happy if you shared it with me. Otherwise, feel free to help in whatever way you can. That's partly why I put the citation back. I know there must have been something in the sentence that is only supported by the Derelict London reference, I just can't offhand remember what it is! If you want to do the checking through the ONDB article and work out what it was that isn't supported, and tag it as unreferenced in the hope someone can find a better citation, that's fine by me, but I really don't have time right now to comb through the ODNB to find it. I'm a complete pedant, by the way, where it comes to things like en-rules, but I dislike the various reference templates, as I think they can make it very hard to edit the text. The large family Spicer of James and Louisa (nee Edwards) appears to have been both close knit, happy, successful - continuing the habit of producing large families with similarly named offspring. Maybe there is a lot to say for the Congregational Church ! Mrs Louisa Martindale(nee Spicer)'s two daughters may not have married and produced their own descendents - but they did manage to write about their lives thank goodness. (Hilda is a much better writer than her sister Dr Louisa.)
Spicers pop up everywhere - my latest find, which you may be curious to take a look at, is <Spicer, Eulalie Evan> who has an entry in the ONDB. Suspect she is a granddaughter of Sir Evan Spicer, yet another brother to Mrs Louisa Martindale (nee Spicer)

The editor that created the page also created Thunderpoint, another Jack Higgins novel. There are other entries for Jack Higgins novels in that particular series, all of them unsourced and very short, none of them containing any useful info that isn't in the main Sean Dillon article. Drmies, the merged article looks good to me. The one suggestion I have is to make an edit to the merged article so you can include wikilinks to the merged article titles in your edit summary (as you did on the album page) so it's clear where the merge is from. I learned this the hard way from my own merge where I neglected to do this and an Admin was having trouble figuring out where I had merged the information from (when they got an error message about duplicative infromation). Once it's in the edit summary anyone can go back and look at the article you merged and see if they want to undo it or add parts you left out or whatever. If my explanation is poor look at this edit summary and I tried to illustrate my point. (except I copied from a redirect notice so I messed it up with an extra parenthesis) I have some other work for you to do too. :) HAHAHAHAHA Happy New Year! Usually I turn up indignantly and shown scorn at deletionists, but Latebird, however difficult that guy can be does a lot of work on Mongolian subjects, hence the surprise that he nominated it. Personally I think it is easily within acceptability on wikipedia and we are better for an article on it than not. Thanks also for your help on it. Happy New Year! Anyway I've asked my good friend User:John Hill, the expert on Central Asian history to see if he has any books in his considerable personal library on it. Remember though that wikipedia is also about personal development and that by being resourceful with subjects which we were once unfamiliar we become more "equipped" to write articles on subjects and gradually gain a better understanding. On many subjects it has been a learning curve for me too, and in many circumstances I've found writing articles on a subject I knew little about rewarding, particularly when on an interesting topic that I become more familiar with afterwards. We are of course here to report and reproduce existing information in the most comprehensive way possible rather than our own original research, so it shouldn't be a barrier to what you want to do, you just have to be able to write concisely and to a high standard!! Red velvet cake is pretty big out here, and now that the cup-cake craze is fading (gourmet yogurt is still big), there's a bundt cake place that just opened and is pretty good. You'll be happy to know that the Mongolian discussion spurred a tangential discussion on User_talk:Badagnani's page. I found a bad rap song with the Genghis Khan name and a Van Halen, I think it was, song, but no Heavy Metal bands. But the best song I found combines food and travel, my two favorite things! Devil's food is really just another name for chocolate cake, I guess because it's "sinful"? :) There's a lot of Peruvian food out here on the left coast. Interesting stuff. They have a red corn drink (I'm bad with names sorry) and eat various dishes over french fries, see lomo saltado. What about the boiled peanuts??? My Dad was into roasted chestnuts for a while. The Trader Joe's store has really expanded interest in gourmet foods I think. It's not as outrageously expensive as Whole Foods and all that. No cake flour? Make your own? Do you have a water wheel in the backyard? I'm a big fan of sweat tea. That stuff is divine. I guess I really goofed mixing up Van Halen and Iron Maiden. I was very impressed with LSU's upset of Auburn at Auburn this year. LSU's coach knows what he's doing. He play to win. Are you watching the game? Sorry brother, it was a tough loss for Alabama. Painful. I'm going to see if I can't get you angry enough to get over it. :) Seriously though, kudos to Alabama for setting up the big games and having such an impressive season. The long layoff between the end of the college football season and the major bowl games always sets up unusual outcomes where coaching and preparation play a key role. I didn't go to a Div. 1 school, so I just like a good game. I like the Longhorns. I was in Texas when Ricky Williams was playing, and I hate USC and Ohio State, so Vince Young is my hero. :) I like Michigan, they play tough exciting games, plus they produce fun players to watch like Charles Woodson, Amani Toomer and Tom Brady. Brian Griese has been a disappointment so far, but he's alright. Oregon is fun to watch. I root against the Hurricanes, Penn State, USC (and basically all California teams except little ones Like Fresno State). I like rivalries and good games with good players more than anything. Boise State's upset of Oklahoma was great. As far as the NFL playoffs, I was rooting for Dallas and the Jets so...
Keyshawn Johnson is my favorite player, but he packed it in. :) I'm a big Darren Sproles fan so I'm thrilled for him. He was awesome in college. I don't really like Tomlinson, he seems like a jerk. It was a great game, both teams came a long way this season. The Colts and Chargers played good defense and good offense, and Sciefer's kicking game was outstanding. Classic finish. The Chargers beating Jay Cutler and Peyton Manning back to back was great. I have respect for that team, but I'm not really a fan. I used to like the Raiders. I ALWAYS root against the Colts. The Colts, Miami, and the Broncos are the Darth Vader teams of NFL football. :) The Giants too. But they're more loveable than Darth, sort of like Biff from back to the future, just a big bully that you root against but is bigger and stronger than everyone else and usually wins. I liked Peyton at Tennessee, but he's just too darn good and I'm more a fan of the underdog teams (Go Jets!!!). Peyton had another amazing game, I thought, and I have to admit I can't help but have huge respect for him as one of the all-time greats. Their defense was nasty too. But only one team can win, and San Diego pulled it out. I was sad about the Falcons loss, but that was a good game also. You can't win them all. I like Tennessee, Vince Young is going to step in and win it all for them. I liked Roethlisberger, he was awesome in college, but he's too cocky after his rookie season so I lost respect for him. I don't really have a favorite team left, but i'll be rooting for underdogs like Minn, Tenn, and against the Giants and Miami. As long as they're good games and the Giants lose I'm happy. The Colts getting eliminated is already a great thing, so I'm happy so far. :) Well, that's enough of a rambling football diatribe for now... An article that was previously deleted through AFD, can be speedied under speedy criterion G4. But (here comes the caveat) it only applies to articles that are virtually the same. If it even makes an attempt at solving issues brought up in the previous AFD or makes new claims, it should go through another AFD. Publishing e-mails on-wiki
Apologies for the delay in informing you, but the page you created at Talk:Basic Income in the Netherlands has been deleted as a copyright violation - e-mails should never be published on site without specific permission from the sender, without some form of licensing details and following on from that, e-mails should receive the level of attribution required by the licence selected by the sender. A user being banned or not is irrelevant, their e-mails do not automatically become public domain.
If you wish to re-publish those e-mails, permission will need to be obtained and proof of that permission will be required to be forwarded to m:OTRS.
Finally, you should be aware that we take a very dim view of the behaviour you displayed on the talk page in question; using an article talk page to conduct a discussion between yourself and one other, a discussion that should be conducted in private, isn't acceptable.

Well, with respect, the sender in question didn't email me to engage in private discussion--he only emailed me because he is banned from berating me in public. You saw his word choice: it was not courteous. I hope you've had an opportunity to look at the actual article he emailed me about: there's nothing polemic in there, and I also hope you understand that I don't agree with your word choice in the phrase "a very dim view of the behaviour etc." It's kind of a black eye, certainly after being badgered privately by an editor who was banned for very good reasons--badgering, editwarring, etc. And discussions on articles and their content, some of which can be quite personal, are common on talk pages and in AfD. I hope it wasn't the editor himself who prompted your quick action, but if it was, at least now I don't have to respond to him via personal email. I will address his comments again on the talk page, without citing him or anything else related to this conversation, and will copy my response to you on my talk page also.
