File source and copyright licensing problem with File:New-stripe.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:New-stripe.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 10:43, 16 May 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:43, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:New-stripe.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:New-stripe.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nyttend (talk) 16:16, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Games For Windows Titles[edit]

Maybe it would be better to create page List of Games on Demand titles instead of adding that section in List of Games for Windows titles? Piotrek54321 (talk) 19:33, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I renamed it as PC DVD Titles for clarification to others and put more informationDualshock03 (talk) 16:24, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Old-logo.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Old-logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Image Screening Bot (talk) 11:05, 13 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:New-gfwl-logo.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:New-gfwl-logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Help request[edit]

{{helpme}}

Hi! What do you need help with? TFOWR 16:28, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Help with Semi-protection {{editsemiprotected}} page. I want the article to be Semi Protected since many unregistered users tried to ruin the list this week, and sometimes i can't bring back the right order of the list due to rough editing from other users.Dualshock03 (talk) 16:31, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

:Which article?  Chzz  ►  16:33, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I guess (from your contributions that you mean List of Games for Windows titles.
  • {{editsemiprotected}} should be used by new/unregistered users, on the talk page of an article that is already protected, to request a change that they cannot make themselves.
  • To request protection of a page, you should use WP:RPP. In this specific case, I will move your request to that page, so you'll see how it should be done, and let you know in a few minutes.  Chzz  ►  16:39, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have now added your request with this edit. Please look on the WP:RPP page, to see the responses.
For more help, you can either;
  • Leave a message on my own talk page; OR
  • Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end; OR
  • Talk to us live, with this or this.
The last of those is particularly useful - please try it; pop in now and say hello. Chzz  ►  16:47, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay thanks. Dualshock03 (talk) 16:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi admin I've already saw my request. What will I do next? I just put a code at the top of Wikipedia:Requests for page protection

which is: List of Games for Windows titles (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) Semi-protect. High level of IP vandalism. Dualshock03 (talk) 17:12, 16 June 2010 (UTC)? is this right? Dualshock03 (talk) 17:20, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
