File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Timothy W. Spencer (Serial Killer).jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Timothy W. Spencer (Serial Killer).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 15:37, 6 November 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fiftytwo thirty (talk) 15:37, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Timothy Spencer article and Diane Cho[edit]

First I want to commend you for your work on the article. It is 10 times better than it previously was and now has many citations. I had done edits to it in the past but had trouble finding source material to cite in the article.

You made one mistake, and it wasn't really your fault. Spencer was convicted of murdering Diane Cho. Here's a link

http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/timesdispatch/access/616967871.html?dids=616967871:616967871&FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:FT&type=current&date=May+13%2C+1989&author=Joseph+Williams&pub=Richmond+Times+-+Dispatch&desc=CHESTERFIELD+JURY+CONVICTS+SPENCER+OF+CHO+MURDER&pqatl=google

The article is behind a wall but there is enough that can be read that shows Spencer was convicted of Cho's murder. Note the article is from the Richmond Times-Dispatch the closest major newspaper to area in Virginia where Spencer did most of his murders.

The cause of your mistake was using the book- The Encyclopedia of Serial Killers as a reference source. I haven't read it but its wrong about the Cho murder. More than one reviewer at Amazon says the book had more than a fair share of factual mistakes.

I give you a 99 on a 1-100 scale for your re-write of the Spencer article. Excellent work.- William 00:43, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tour de France Prologue Result[edit]

Hi

when you updated the nation boxes after today's Prologue you neglected to put Rohan Dennis into the individual record columns above. I took the liberty of sorting that bit out but left your edit alone. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ShadowMerckx (talkcontribs) 19:48, 4 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, ShadowMerckx - missed that one!
