Alt texts

Salam Diaa, thanks for providing the alt text to Nasser's childhood photograph. Unfortunately (for me), I'm still not exactly sure what to write. For instance, for this picture of four Free Officers including Nasser, what would be the alt text? Four men in military uniform, wearing buttoned jackets, wide-rimmed hats, black shoes, and carrying briefcases. They are ascending the stairs of a building. Is this correct usage? --Al Ameer son (talk) 16:45, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Yep, as far as I know that would be a good description. Just imagine describing the image on the phone to a friend. By the way the nationalization of the Suez Canal need maybe 3X expansion. I'll get into it, I've been busy with college problems and a dilemma about my future. Anyway, the nationalization wasn't just as easy as saying we'll nationalize the suez canal. It had a lot of planning and procedures. Give me a bit of time and I'll focus on the article. BTW, did u finish the Aburish book? And how is it going with Asmahan? --Diaa abdelmoneim (talk) 16:53, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
Alright then I'll get to it—I might be a litte slow though... I don't know about a 3X expansion of the canal section. Unless you're willing to replace present info, that will just make the section utterly huge. Since there is a lot of info on the nationalization out there, perhaps you could distribute that to other related articles like the Suez Crisis and the of course, the Suez Canal. Kind of like what we did with the "Attempt at Arab unity" section which still might need some more tightening. At any rate, I'm excited to see your new additions! Now, for Aburish, I've reached 1968—commencing the War of Attrition and basically handing Arafat full authority over the Palestine issue. Just a few more events to add from the Aburish book and we're done. As for Asmahan (sigh...), well things have indeed gotten better, but it seems like there are new issues brought up everytime the old ones are solved, or the old issues are brought up again. This is how Egypt must feel as it's trying to mend relations between Hamas and Fatah. AC and SD are good chaps, both want the article to be in great shape, but I think they're letting their own nationalisms and their previous personal disputes get in the way of further improvements. It's a shame really. Hopefully, one day they'll collaborate to make Asmahan a Good article. I declared my mediation efforts at the article over and have told them if they still can't compromise, they should file an RfC. Good luck with college Diaa and Ramadan kareem in advance.
