Hoya! Thanks for the welcome. I’d actually like to suggest “fanart” be the primary spelling, as it’s the way it’s normally used by those in the community. Basically, it’s “fanart”, “fanfiction”, etc. Durinae (talk) 22:41, 17 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest raising it on Talk:Fan art, either as an informal suggestion of a formal move discussion as outlined at WP:RM#CM.
If you can show that the spaceless spelling is the more common name used in books and press articles (see WP:COMMONNAME), then it'd be fair to rename it. If it's the case that the modern community uses "fanart" while more mainstream sources still call it "fan art", though, it'd be better left alone for now. --Lord Belbury (talk) 10:33, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am curious, would it not be more relevant what the community it is part of calls it? Durinae (talk) 10:34, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I believe Wikipedia always uses the most common names for articles. --Lord Belbury (talk) 10:35, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
