RE:Deletion of Wikipedia Page: Miles Software[edit]

Hey Dushitashah,

Thanks for your message. Since I am not an administrator here, I could not review deleted articles, and thus I am not aware of the contents of the deleted "Miles Software" article. However, looking at the article's deletion discussion, there seems to be a consensus amongst participating users that the article ought to be deleted because it failed WP:CORPDEPTH and WP:GNG. Let me (briefly) explain these guidelines to you, and how your deleted article might have failed these guidelines.

WP:CORPDEPTH establishes that a company or a corporation must have received in-depth coverage from independent, reliable sources before it is said to have sufficient "depth of coverage" worthy of an article. Self-published sources (i.e. information of a company published on that company's website) are not independent, and are unlikely reliable either. Similarly, WP:GNG states that articles in Wikipedia are generally only kept if they meet the general notability threshold: i.e., if the topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject.

As you can see, neither guideline above directly deals with promotional content. Thus, it is possible your article has been deleted not because it was deemed promotional in nature, but because the sources included were not reliable and/or independent of the subject. Therefore, if you wish to re-create the article, all the while avoiding deletion, I suggest you first find independent sources establishing notability for the "Miles Software" company. This could be anything from a news report on the company published by established media outlets, to journals or academic sources covering the topic in details. See WP:SOURCE for more about reliable sources. If you are not able to find such sources, then it might not be the right time now to write an article on that topic. Additionally, you may find Article wizard and Articles for Creation useful in guiding you writing your article. Should you have any further problems in editing, please feel free to contact me again. Finally, thanks for reading my message and have fun in editing :)
