Speedy deletion nomination of User:DylanCampbell1992/sandbox[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:DylanCampbell1992/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - @DoubleGrazing I do not think that it should be deleted, however, If you do want to delete it that can you please tell me why in a small summary so I can edit it DylanCampbell1992 (talk) 10:18, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- It has been deleted because it is content not appropriate for this project to write an encyclopedia of human knowledge. 331dot (talk) 10:20, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- @331dot , nice grammar, anyway, what areas were not important DylanCampbell1992 (talk) 10:31, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- The entire thing. None of it was suitable, which is why it was deleted. For one, you had no independent reliable sources that discuss how he considers himself to be Jesus(if you are serious about such a claim) or for most of the content in general. Any article about Mr. Foot must summarize what independent reliable sources say about him, demonstrating that he meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person. 331dot (talk) 10:36, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- All that stuff about him being a billionaire and the new Jesus etc. We don't need to be dead serious, but let's not take the proverbial, either. The subject might well be notable, but this is no way to go about writing an encyclopaedia article about him. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:36, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing theoretically, could I make a website about him being jesus and a billionaire and what not, and the use that as a source DylanCampbell1992 (talk) 10:44, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Sure you could, but it wouldn't help. We want to see published secondary sources that are reliable and independent of the subject. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:48, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- You making a website to use as a source would not be an independent source. It would also not be a reliable source, as a website you make would not have a reputation of fact checking and editorial control(in other words, it wouldn't just publish anything it wants) 331dot (talk) 10:50, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- @331dot ok, so if I re write it with a lot more reliable sources and what not, would it be considered for publication DylanCampbell1992 (talk) 10:57, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Please first give three independent reliable sources(and please read the link), and only three, that could be summarized to establish that Mr. Foot meets the definition of a notable person. 331dot (talk) 11:00, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- @331dot https://www.gregfoot.com/ , https://uk.linkedin.com/in/gregfoot , https://educationinaction.org.uk/speaker/greg-foot/ DylanCampbell1992 (talk) 11:16, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Anything can be considered, but nothing will be considered indefinitely, if you're continue to take the mickey.
- BTW, what is your relationship to Mr Foot? I'll post a message below which tells you about conflicts of interest (COI), and how to manage one. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:13, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing thanks, I am just a fan who thinks he needs more attention DylanCampbell1992 (talk) 11:18, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- Those are all sources associated with Mr. Foot, and are not independent reliable sources, such as news articles. 331dot (talk) 11:19, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- If you want to drum up attention for Mr. Foot, you should do that on social media, not Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 11:20, 17 September 2023 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]
Hello, DylanCampbell1992. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:14, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
