Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, DylanSprengThomson. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Marie Macklin, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

August 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Parksfan1955. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Marie Macklin, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Parksfan1955 (talk) 09:25, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Parksfan1955. Thanks for the message and clarification, apologies for any confusion caused. I can provide a link to a news article confirming my new addition to Dr Marie Macklin's page. Please see news piece here. Happy to provide anything further if required. Kind regards. DylanSprengThomson (talk) 11:46, 29 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dylan, you cannot simply edit a Wikipedia article on "behalf" of someone and use this as a valid or reliable source for making edits without reliable sources to back up edits. Additionally, the use of non-free images on Wikipedia is not permitted, and your upload of Marie Macklin has been nominated for deletion on the grounds of it being a non-free image. Hi there. Apologies for any confusion or wrongdoing caused, this was not intended by my edits. I will go through due process and if this still doesn't allow these changes, then we will pursue an alternative route. Kind regards. DylanSprengThomson (talk) 08:19, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
