Coordinates, precision of[edit]

Hi Dyl; regarding the number of places of decimals that you're using for coordinates - please see WP:OPCOORD. Six places decimals on degrees works out as an accuracy of about 10 cm; four places decimals on minutes works out at about 16 cm, which is somewhat more precise than we really need to locate a building or a coalfield. --Redrose64 (talk) 17:27, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Redrose yes now read article agree thank you. Dylthedog (talk) 18:10, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

HNoMS Æger (1936) coordinates[edit]

Hi Dylthedog. What is your source for the coordinates of HNoMS Æger (1936), claiming that Æger sank north of the UK? Manxruler (talk) 23:39, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for that i think finger trouble was to blame. In the text it states came ashore off the coast, I found no exact location.Dylthedog (talk) 09:40, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Manxruler I have just started putting coords into wiki articles, do you think when a coord is missing it is better put it in the general area if no exact position can be found or left out?Dylthedog (talk) 10:02, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I think that when we don't have a coordinate - verified by a source - then it's better to leave it out. The main point is, if we don't have a source for a bit of info, then we should not add it. That's the only way I can see that Wikipedia can improve. For example, I wouldn't have added coordinates to Æger's article, because we don't have a reliable source that gives the coordinates. Hi yes I see your point and will remove coord. Thank you.Dylthedog (talk) 13:27, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. You're welcome. Manxruler (talk) 13:55, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

AZ high schools[edit]

Thanks for adding coordinates to some of the AZ high school articles I created. There are tons more to be done (most are in Coord missing|Arizona). It would be appreciated. Raymie (tc) 02:44, 3 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey no problem thanks. I will keep plodding on Dylthedog (talk) 08:21, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar Award[edit]

The Entrepreneur's Barnstar
The Entrepreneur's Barnstar is given to recognize new editors who have made great strides to contribute to Wikipedia.
Awarded for your early work locating images for articles, and your subsequent great strides with adding geocoordinate data to articles. - Dave Crosby (talk) 04:57, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have correct co-ordinates for this? I just removed the ones you inserted because they're about 15 miles off the Scheldt and nothing in the article connects the ship to that region. Maybe a copy-paste error? 209.197.140.212 (talk) 22:39, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
