Hi there. You voted to delete the article on Carson Gulley - understandable, as the way it was written suggested he was only famous for inventing a pie only known at one university. Having done a little research I've discovered he was a little more notable than that, and I've added some extra stuff to the article. It's still borderline, and I'd understand you still voting to delete, but I wanted to give you a heads-up and the opportunity to reconsider. --OpenToppedBus - Talk to the driver 12:25, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Tridelta posiedon.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tridelta posiedon.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Dethomas 03:50, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging[edit]

Image copyright problem with Image:Roman_lamp.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Roman_lamp.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Thanks for uploading Image:Jennifer eposito.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an arguement why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Using screenshots[edit]

When you read the fair use screenshot tag: for identification and critical commentary on the film and its contents that means: screenshots are allowed to be used on the article about the movie/tv-program, not biographical article (see exceptions), see discussion for example here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Fair_use. Thanks. feydey 06:19, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A screenshot from a film or tv-show (hint Spin City) that was important for her career and could be/is mentioned in the article is permissable to be used in the article. N.B. Only a films name in the article (like in filmography) doesn't give critical commentary on the film and its contents. Thanks for contacting and keep editing, feydey 06:35, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Given your work on Fraternities and Sororities and Filipino Americans, I'd appreciate if you'd take a look at Fraternities and sororities in the Philippines and letting me know what you think. It started out as just a way to get the list of Philippine Fraternity and Sorority list off the Fraternities and sororities page. Naraht 21:07, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You. I'd like to add some of the practices as well as well as both the "wars" and the "peace effort", but most of what I've seen there has been in Tagalog. Ideally, I'd like to see a copy of this over at ta.wikipedia.org and then expanded.Naraht 12:19, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lambda Chi Alpha--notable members and chapter lists[edit]

I recently created "List of notable members of Lambda Chi Alpha" and "List of chapters of Lambda Chi Alpha" because I'd like to get those lists off of the Lambda Chi Alpha article proper. If you check the history, you can see the initial summary paragraph I wrote for the "notable members" section. Anyway, I saw you were active on the Fraternity and Sororities project, and I was wondering what a neutral party thought about my idea. Currently on the LCA talk page, it seems like it may reduce to an argument between me and one other editor, which I don't like, and I'm not exactly sure how to resolve. I was also wondering if you had any thoughts as to the redundancy of keeping a list of notable members and having the catagory: Lambda Chi Alpha brothers? Thanks, — Vijay 00:08, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions?[edit]

Hi, I am currently assisting with the maintenance of the Chi Rho Omicron, Inc. article, which currently is marked for deletion. I feel that there is an unreasonable bias against Fraternal organization articles. I happened to see your contributions to a number of organizations' articles in my research. Could you possibly look over the page and provide some feedback on what can be improved?

Thanks for your time. Coloursinmyhead 07:57, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wanna join? I'm trying to get this wikiproject started up again and try to create and enforce some standards among the fraternity and sororitiy articles on Wikipedia. You done some work on this topic and I would love work with you and get some input.

Right now, I just want to get a consensus of some NPOV standards and see if we can make any changes to the inforbox:fraternity template. If you're interested in this, please let me know. Dspserpico 05:13, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling and Grammar[edit]

You really should proofread your page -- there are many spelling and grammar mistakes. I mean, it is your personal page and as such, really none of my business, but it drives me crazy when I see a really badly managed and mangled personal page. Especially having arrived at that page out of a desire to learn more about a user who thinks it is appropriate to write, "You have a bunch of dumbasses on here who have no knowledge of anything else except pop culture" as you did on Talk:Stacy_Ferguson. Having a page on the Wiki is a "privilege" and not, as you write, a "privelage"! [sic] !! 136.152.227.81 08:19, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Any opinion on the External Links reference? Also, on the Phi Delt page, someone uploaded a bunch of notable alumni. Can you verify any of them? I removed two as non-notable, and alphabatized the rest. AriGold 21:26, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gisele Bündchen[edit]

Please help keep a watch on Gisele Bündchen. Andnanso is becoming a real problem on this article again. For almost a week now he keeps vandalizing the page. I spent a fair amount of time getting the introduction and first couple of sections into better encyclopaedic language and he keeps changing it. I've left a welcome on his talk page, but he clearly is not reading any guidelines. I'd appreciate your keeping watch on the page and with several of us we can avoid getting into a 3RR ourselves. Thanks. Doctalk 22:54, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TKE vandalism, AN response[edit]

I'm watching the IP, I already watch the article but I was at work this evening. Let me know if you ever need help!

(Edit) For future reference, should someone vandalise an article, use the {{subst:test}} templates. For example with the TKE article: use {{subst:test1}} and {{subst:test2}} after the first couple vandalism edits, use {{subst:bv}} after that and report the editor to WP:AIV for a quick preventative block of the IP. Thanks for the work. Teke (talk) 02:22, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oh, and reverting vandalism doesn't break the 3RR. Happy editing to you! Teke (talk) 02:24, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Phi Delta Theta chapters[edit]

What's your take on the edits the person keeps making to the Texas section of Phi Delta Theta chapters? I keep reverting it, since I don't see how colony or former chapter history like that is relevent, since we don't do that for every chapter? I was going to suggest we protect the page, but will leave it up to you. AriGold 16:47, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

you sir a big fucking deucebag, i am helping contribute to the page on my fraternity and you keep deleting my additions. You are some lame ass wikipedia dork who we would probably laugh at if you ever stepped in our frat house. Sigma Alpha Mu[edit]

Yeah, I hear you, that Afd is really going all over the place. I never saw any reason to delete the article. Although he does have sort of a point, he's kind of grasping at anything he can now, abandoning his other assertions along the way. So I got into it a bit with him, but I see your point that this belongs on the talk page and never really should have been nominated. My main purpose behind the comment made to you was to defend Alan a bit, preemptively diffusing what I felt would probably be a much more personal (and off-topic) reaction by him. Not to get down on the guy, he's got close to a thousand edits and is arguing well; I just disagree with him and think he's missing the point. --Tractorkingsfan 07:05, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Candace kita.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Candace kita.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu Badali 16:11, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
