Hi. I want to know why my article page that I created is nominated for speedy deletion and what specific actions can I take to change this. This is the link to the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Students_Advocating_For_Equity

Your question has been answered at the Teahouse: the speedy deletion nomination was not propoer and has been removed. JohnCD (talk) 10:25, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Students Advocating For Equity, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Accidental placement of unapproved AfC article in article space.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Students Advocating For Equity[edit]

Hi ELSAYMARJORY, I have made a few changes to this article to show you how to reference websites. Some of your sources are created by the group you are writing about and this affects notability. If the subject of the article isn't notable it risk being nominated for deletion. I am happy to help you work on the article to improve referencing, but I just wanted to give you a heads up as to what's happening. Flat Out let's discuss it 08:56, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Now that the article has been proposed for deletion, I would like to suggest you move the article to a subpage in your user space, and keep it as a draft while you improve referencing to meet notability guidelines, Flat Out let's discuss it 11:00, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Flat Out, Thank you for your help and for changing the citation of the website. How can I move the article to a subpage? and would that mean that the article would be taken offline until I work on the notability guidelines? Also, would it be possible to add or merge my page with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_College_of_San_Francisco? Thanks ELSAYMARJORY (talk) 22:36, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can create a subpage and move the article if that's what you want, yes that would take it from 'online' article to 'offline' draft. You could add the information into the College article but I think you will have the same problem - there are no independent sources on your group - so someone will delete the information as unsourced. Let me know what you decide and I will do my best to help. Flat Out let's discuss it 23:44, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Students Advocating For Equity has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of Notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
