Smithsonian Institution Archives Edit-a-Thon and Meetup![edit]

Who should come? You should. Really.
She Blinded Me with Science: Smithsonian Women in Science Edit-a-Thon will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Smithsonian Archives in Washington, D.C. This edit-a-thon will focus on improving and writing Wikipedia content about women from the Smithsonian who contributed to the sciences. It will be followed by a happy hour meetup! We look forward to seeing you there!

...and if you do not live in the Washington, D.C. area, please forgive the intrusion and you can delete this invite! Sarah (talk) 04:48, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proxemics[edit]

Hey there! I just wanted to check in and see how things were going with your Wikipedia project. I noticed that you've made a few small changes to the Proxemics article, but not really any major revisions. I saw a little bit of development in your sandbox, although I know you might also have been working in a different space that I can't immediately see. Anyways, I know the midterm is due in a couple weeks and just wanted to make sure you were on track and had everything you needed to get this done!

Since this article already has been developed to a good base state, I think you would be best served to expand and add more detail about some of the sub-topics. For instance, the Behavior categories section could be expanded with better descriptions and maybe examples for each type. The other thing that would be great would be to see what other theorists and practitioners have done with Proxemics, which is a fairly well-established theory. Currently the article focuses mostly just on the basics, which is great, but you can definitely expand more on its consequences and implications. Just let me know if I can help you with anything, either technical matters, generating ideas, or for review! MyNameWasTaken (talk) 21:21, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, just wanted to note something about the referencing on Proxemics. There's actually a method for re-using citations. I'm feeling lazy (Sorry) so please take a look at User_talk:MyNameWasTaken#Re-using_a_reference for some info on how to do that. Let me know if you need more clarification or help. Otherwise looking good! MyNameWasTaken (talk) 01:20, 27 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proxemics[edit]

Hi! I hope the article and references from Mike were helpful. Also, the chapter I sent on Friday reviews most of the literature on proximity and its relationship to collaboration so that might be helpful. Also remember to consider linking to other pages within Wikipedia about these ideas or to add references that might be helpful.Turnj (talk) 11:35, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
