Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: possible promotional username. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

A tag has been placed on User:Echo Design Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of User:Echo Design Group and leave a note on [[Talk:User:Echo Design Group|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 15:59, 18 February 2009 (UTC) {{hangon}} I merely want to state the difference between The Echo Design Group and Ecco Footwear, Marc Ecko. There is confusion as to who "echo" is and I want to clarify this.[reply]

If you would like to create an article on the Echo Design Group, then you are free to do so. However, you should read WP:CSD, WP:SPAM, and WP:COI before continuing. Additionally, we still need to discuss your problematic username. Yellowweasel (talk) 16:14, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and forbidden by policies, and also violates our username policy.

However, if you feel that there has been a mistake in your blocking, please appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below or email the administrator who blocked you. Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Please check that your new username has not already been taken by checking this list.

Hi,

The reason for this username is is clarify any confusion between The Echo Design Group, Ecco shoes and Marc Ecko, 3 distinct fashion brands. I noticed that there are pages for companies such as Coach, Inc. and I would like to create one for The Echo Design Group to show that this is in fact a separate entity. In addition, I can include references for this page, Echo Design has been written up several times in Women's Wear Daily, I reputable magazine and online publication. If you would like to change my username, please change it to agothelf1.

Thank you, Alyssa
