Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Yar Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —teb728 t c 22:09, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Yar Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Sorry, but...[edit]

Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia that is free to edit. But, it does have rules. One is that subjects of articles must be notable (by our definition of notable). This sometimes leads to apparently odd things like a bus shelter on a Scottish island having an article. There are very few notable bus shelters, but this one passed. For musicians and bands, the requirement is at WP:BAND, and for any subject, there should be reliable independent sources WP:RS to prove it. Being true is not enough. (Actually, we do have articles about things that never happened or didn't exist - but they are notable either for not happening, or simply because they are widely known and written about. Like Robin Hood, Hercules, and so on. We can't allow an article 'just in case it grows into something in a few years', or because it is about the author's friends. We would be another Facebook if we did. Good luck with the band - it's a hard business and the vast majority of bands don't get articles. I know a few very good bands that haven't got articles because they don't pass on notability. (One I was in played to a live audience of 10,000, but that didn't qualify us...)
