Reasons for undoing the revision of 5 September 2013 by user Akseli9

[edit]

I undid the revision of 5 September 2013 by user Akseli9 because of the following reasons:

- The revision consisted in large parts of original research.

- There were logical and content-related issues. A motocross track has little to do with the Paris-Dakar rally. Imho the actual reason Honda chose to present the XLV on a motocross track in 1983 was that this location was used to present not only the XLV, but the whole new 1983 range of Honda off-road motorcycles, including motocross bikes and ATVs. Still it is imho hard to understand why the XLV was included in this presentation, because the motocross track was a location where the XLV could only fail (especially compared to the lighter bikes presented along its side).

- the information about the BMW R80G/S is unnecessary for the article about the XLV750R

- the clause referring to the R80G/S as "the only other big tourer existing at the time" is incorrect - of course there were other "big tourers" at the time. An addition like "the only other big dual-purpose tourer" would correct the clause; but as I wrote above, the info about the R80G/S is unneccessary altogether.
