Hezekiah Leonard Clark, Jr. (Orphan Article and Specific Categories Tags)

[edit]

In reference to the article being an orphan, I have been working very hard to try to link Mr. Clark’s article to another article utilizing all available resources and the find links tool for suggestions and have been unable to do so.

In reference to the needs additional or more specific categories tag, I have worked on this article on Mr. Clark and I have covered everything and tried to be as specific as possible and making sure that the information is presented under the correct categories.

I ask if you would please consider removing the tags. Thank you very much for your assistance and any additional information that you can provide.

Article tags

[edit]

Elaine, the key is that when an article is created by a reviewer those tags are automatically added based on the issues that are present. The system does it to help improve all articles, so I didn't really add those tags, the system did. However, that being said, the orphan tag can't be removed unless the article is linked to from some other articles. If that can't be done, that doesn't speak well for the notability of the person. The second tag on the article has nothing to do with categories at all. It is a bare URL tag. That means that the urls you have listed as references point to the homepage of the site rather than the page dealing with the subject. Rather than linking to the Department of Defense's homepage, that link should be directly to the page that discusses what you are referencing. I hope that makes sense. If not let me know and I can try to explain it in greater detail. Chris1834 Talk 03:31, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chris and Elaine,
I have substituted the MSgt insignia and converted the bare htmls. I have another suggestion: many of the citations do not pertain to the subject because they are the generic homepage website of an organization rather than sources that provide information about Mr. Clark. I think they distract from the article, and suggest removal of # 1-6, 8-20, 38, 45, 77-84, and also suggest converting citations of wikipedia to wikilinks. My hesitation is from ignorance of citation requirements for relatively non-controversial facts that may not have been published in a reliable 3rd-party source. I'm a relatively new editor, so wanted to check with you before I get too BOLD. Cheers! --Grand'mere Eugene (talk) 09:19, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
