Dalida animation

[edit]

Thanks for working on the Dalida biography.

Just for fun, have you seen this animation of Dalida's song "Paroles, paroles" The animation artist Nina Paley portrays prehistoric goddess figures falling under the words of the newly ascendant God of Moses. It is one scene of the film Seder-Masochism. Cheers! Binksternet (talk) 22:04, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know that. Thank you for sharing. 😃 Elenora.C (talk) 23:02, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Binksternet Sorry if my English sentences are sometimes convoluted. Sometimes the intended meaning of my sentences must not be expressly the same as that imagined... being Spanish. Don't hold it against me. Normally, I try to do my best. Elenora.C (talk) 02:04, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all. I understand the limitations of language. Binksternet (talk) 02:08, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Dalida? Dalida!

[edit]

I see that in the sandbox you are doing a complete rewrite of Dalida's article. You know, you can't just show up on your own and write everything from scratch on the main page. Let's discuss via talk page. You understand that we all have different opinions and we have to agree. Some have been in this business for a long time, longer than you. I think your approach with full rewrite is wrong because first of all you are not a native english speaker and I see a bunch of geeks in the whole sentence composition. I am in a same situation as you... Your sandbox texts are not at all like on the pages that are "featured article", like Elvis Presley, Beyonce, Cher... Follow their example.

Secondly, everything revolves around sales for you. Just records and millions millions. And you completely neglect the real artist contextual side. What made her popular in every other period. Dalida white dress from 1967 to 1977 at the latest ... that should be an accent. You don’t mention concerts at all. And that's because you have no idea about them. How many successes in "afrique noire". I’m not insulting you, but I warn you that you’re not great at editing a Dalida article. Neither did I. I tried a couple of years ago so I stopped. Because we are too narrow head. You draw all your view on her business from Lesneur's book, which is not 100% valid at all. What are the disagreements with barclay? What decline in popularity in the second half of the 60s? Le temps des fleurs is a major moment in her career! Coincied with the Arts-lettres and De Gaulle recognitions! You are keen on one way of looking at her. I mean, it's wrong to catch one way of looking at a certain thing. It is important to look from all sides.

If you care about editing an article together properly, you should contact some writers or serious wiki editors with many years of experience.

Dalida was singer of concerts, tv appeareances, context and story, full of meaningfull songs. Her career can't be told through singles, albums and sales primarly. That should be aside info in text. Look at Edith Piaf wiki. Imagine you now want to rewrite it, and base it only on sales. It would look like a disaster text. Every second sentence would be "the song sold ___ much". Don't invent content where it doesn't exist, I'm telling you in a friendly way for everyone's benefit.

The sandbox is in progress. And I'm not a fan of Dalida. And this is the first time that I have worked on this artist. I am responding to a request made by users regarding the chaotic state of this article. Coming back to the sandbox, how is it different from an encyclopedic article? It does not relate only to sales. I want proof of this in the evocation of her first visit to the USA, her invitation to Iran, or even her fight against AIDS in France. But this is still only a draft. More contributions will follow, don't worry. What's more, it's not a question of rewriting the article alone but of finishing this sandbox in order to present it in the talk page and then make other modifications. You have drawn inferences too actively.
Finally, it is not a question of presenting opinions in this page and for any other article but sourced information (reliable sources, secondary, etc ...), intelligible facts. To give you an image, Wikipedia is not the local bistro. And you continue to revoke referenced information all the time. We can discuss this or that source, we can review the writing of a sentence to be published, but we cannot discuss this or that opinion, or the questioning of factual elements because they do not suit us.And in this way we could finally carry out a real encyclopaedic work together, as I do with other users. But this does not prevent me from reading you with attention.
Also there is no correlation between the presentation of the medal by De Gaulle and the song "Le temps des fleurs". The song was a great success but by no means a major success on the scale of her career. We can see that on the year of release, this song is ranked 49th of the hits of the year 1968. I believe to see that your readings of the facts are somewhat skewed explained by your devotion to this artist (don't take it the wrong way).
But you can clearly see that here again, what separates us, you and me, is that I simply collect and integrate factual, real, referenced and therefore verifiable information. On the contrary, you do not adopt any holistic vision of things and fabricate or relay false information for lack of solid secondary sources, without real verifications. Moreover, it is enough to see my interventions concerning your contributions to realize it. I pass the lie on this famous "consensus" behind which you were hiding concerning the nationality of the singer but which no longer holds today. Sincerely. Elenora.C (talk) 22:12, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How can't you understand how the sales and charts are only a "print in paper" of the success a certain song makes. First, that page you linked for charts is null. That is nothing official or important. Second, charts overall are null. The were no serious charts in that period. Nothing until 90s in France. Only serious charts were La bourse and Music hall. They ran shortly in 50s. Gladly they recorded Dalida's prime success. It is fully hard to work with you as you don't want an other opinions. You have 2/3 mediocre books as your sources + tons of invalid unimportant charts. You can't write on wiki with that... You didn't even understand what did I wanted to say with medal 1968 and de gaulle... I think you are not competent to work on this article and please leave it just as I left it as I am also not competent to write an encyclopedic artice about dalida. Dalida Editor please ping or message me 22:53, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Today Dalida's main article cannot remain as it is. This is even claimed, do you have seen the banner posted? Once again you criticize secondary and reliable, even irrefutable sources. You have no counter-argument other than to say that they don't suit you : "charts overall are null". Here are the official Dalida charts, whether you refute them, like them or not. Yes, these are the official rankings. You can then invent anything you want, but rankings were already established in several countries, in Germany from the 1950s, in France as well as in Italy from the 1960s. Rankings on sales and distributions in jukeboxes existed before sometimes. Inevitably I cannot appear competent in your eyes since precisely I come to thwart the false things that you broadcast.
Aside, all actions reported by other users that you are doing can lead to you being blocked. Already for edit wars, but now may amount to vandalism I think. Elenora.C (talk) 23:18, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@DalidaEditor Unfortunately, what had to happen happened. You have been blocked. However, I will have tried everything to inform you of the way in which you intervened on various pages of Dalida. Many users have warned you. It's really sad to come to this. It is difficult to understand your astonishment at what is happening to you. Elenora.C (talk) 02:47, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Am tag

[edit]

Dear Elonora, 1 mistake - you removed the section name. It is important. It has to stay because of wikilinks. 2 mistake - charts and sales. It did not sold 1 000 000. It is false propaganda info. The page you use as a source is not valid. 3 mistake - the table: On engl wiki there is no flags in charts table. If you don't know the rules, avoid this wiki.

I will leave the 1 milllion sales for the sake of our relationship here, but the table has to be fixed and the section name. Also the composition of lines by you is horrific and I have to retrieve it to my composition. You just group it all under one paragraph. You know, I trasnslated from german wiki Am tag page and used their sources. I invented nothing...

Cordially, Dalida Editor please ping or message me 23:14, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The song has sold over a million records. The sources you removed indicate this and these are the official prints/sales. Once again, you impose your reading of things and sweep away all solid references required by Wikipedia... Continue your counterproductive actions. You are exploding violations to many principles of wikipedia and it is putting you in a bad situation that could have been avoided. It's really regrettable. Elenora.C (talk) 23:29, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@DalidaEditor Your changes have been revoked by another user to revert to my version. I completed his contribution. I also took the liberty of taking up some syntax errors and duplicates on your old contribution. Elenora.C (talk) 10:32, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Dalida 80's.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Dalida 80's.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Adeletron 3030 (talkedits) 14:38, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
