If you plan on running a script, you do indeed take full responsibility for it. If you want to experiment with the script, please use the sandbox. Also, please try to pay attention to what is going on before calling something vandalism. It would behoove you to read previous edits and to check citations before reverting a correction. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.81.33.174 (talk) 20:15:05, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

The Lestat musical page[edit]

MusicMaker5376 keeps removing large chunks of important content from the page. The page isn't specifically for the New York version of the play and there isn't a seperate page for the San Francisco version and he deletes all the content that explains the drastic contrasts between the two pages. What should I do?

I'm a little confused[edit]

You said what I did to the discussion page of the lestat musical is vandalism but I don't think you know what I delted. Read what the person wrote in their 'discussion' about the San Francisco plot summery. They make sarcastic comments about suicide and insults directed toward me for posting the summery, which many people had wanted on that page. You gave me two warnings about vandalism but surely that sort of thing shouldn't be there. And I don't know wht to do.

Re:Crystal Lake High Schools[edit]

I am going to start monitoring them more closely now that I have noticed this trend lately. A few IPs should be able to be taken care of with the 3R rule. I noticed that you have been busy with the article also. Do you plan on expanding them? Maybe with photos or something? Basically, there should never be an alumni added, unless there is an article on the Wikipedia about them. I'll keep an eye on them over the next couple days, see if things keep being bad. I forgot to warn that last guy, so I am going to do so now.--Kranar drogin 23:44, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome template[edit]

Hello. Thanks for your help in welcoming new users. When you do, though, you can type {{subst:welcome}} ~~~~, and that will add the welcome template and your signature. Here, it looks like you copied the text from a page and pasted it to the user's talk page. If you have any questions, you can contact me on my talk page, check Wikipedia:Questions, or leave {{helpme|your question here}} on this page, and someone will be around to help shortly. Welcome templates[edit]

The diff-link you gave me was dead, so I can't be sure which welcome template you were referring to. Most probably it was Template:Welcomeg, which I use most of the time. If you use it, you should "subst" it, like this: {{subst:welcomeg}}.

A full list of welcome templates can be found at Category:Welcome templates. Best regards. Shalom Hello 04:27, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hell and Weasel Words[edit]

I do believe that many high schoolers do in fact refer to high school as "hell". I thought that Wikipedia was a place for spreading knowledge and ideas, excuse me if my ideas are not good enough to be considered anything but vandalism. In fact, the whole page of hell is nothing but ideas and mythology, maybe it is a whole page of vandalim.
I do however appreciate your warm welcome to the wikipedia universe and I hope that in the future you will not be biased towards me for the fact that I am a Shark.
IMMASHARK 07:01, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do in fact use Weasel Words, not because I like to assert things that cannot be proven, but in fact I believe that it distinguishes what I write from useful information. I believe that most of the things that I could write on here would not be useful, but would in fact have some sort of comical effect. Such as I cannot prove to you that I am a Shark, so I cannot say that "I am a Shark." I can however say that "Some people say I am a Shark." Which is probably untrue because I am on the internet, but some people with a dry (no pun intended) sense of humor, may find it funny.
I believe that everyone needs a laugh now and then, but I do not want to get in the way of people obtaining information.
I do not know how much I can actually contribute to this wikipedia and if you wish to stop indulging my delusions of grandeur, I will go back to swimming, eating, and just looking plain scary.

AIV report[edit]

Thank you for making a report at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators generally only block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you. Shell babelfish 05:20, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I've removed your AIV report for JTheGoblinKing, as it appears to be a content dispute and the editor is trying to engage in discussion. I feel it would be unfair to issue a block at this time. If you have any further questions or would like to point anything else out to me about this matter please don't hesitate to give me a shout. Regards Khukri 08:28, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have decided to leave away from this place! :-([edit]

Dear Elenseel, it is me again, the Pole Heinz Tower, the one you have greeted me right from the beginning. First off, I sincerely want to say that I do not really find this place adaptable to suit my preferences of editing as a whole, in view that there are just too many policies and regulations to comply with ever since from the first time I am new here, causing a lot inconveniences sometimes at my disposal. I truly did not know what and why are there so many rules, terms, or conditions being created inside this big Wikisite where users can tweak them like duck to water instead of treating them as a guide, making those guidelines pages unstable and volatile. Moreover to that, even my very first ever created article in Wikipedia also got deleted, which is currently under review. I am not so sure about what will that matter be in later time and on what will be its outcome, but my inner instincts foresees and tells me that the probability is pretty high concerning my aforementioned article will surely be remained in a deletion state as endorsed by most of them. How disappointing for me to let it happen in such manner, wasting my efforts! Nonetheless, I just want say thanks for welcoming me, and after being experienced or seasoned with occasional bits of ordeals throughout my stay in Wikipedia, I am now going to stop from doing it henceforth. I hope you would comprehend the entire clear picture upon my decision which I am making at this moment of the day. Got to go now. Bye! 06:57, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Um, what?[edit]

That wasn't vandalism, and that wasn't a test edit I made. Feel free to blab all you want thinking that edit was vandalism, but I've been on Wikipedia for a year, and that was definitely NOT vandalism. 208.127.155.238 22:18, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Paludan[edit]

You the article on Philip Paludan for speedy deletion on the grounds that it was spam.

Doesn't look like spam to me, and thus I reverted your tag. May I ask why you reached that conclusion, or if it was an error on your part, or...? DS 21:06, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to do the same, when I found Ds had already done so. Even if there had been spammy content, which does not appear to be the case, G11 is only for articles where it cannot be removed by a reasonable amount of rewriting. Please do not overuse speedy, we need it for the real junk. DGG (talk) 21:15, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Overuse of Speedy[edit]

Your delete tag has been removed by another editor from the article Éamonn Young, as the man is apparently very notable, and the article seems not the least spammy. I have also removed delete tags placed as "no contest" from several articles where it seems the article was only in need of expansion.

You are making unnecessary work for us overworked admins when you do this. Please see WP:PROD for a more appropriate way of marking inadequate articles. Speedy is for unquestionably necessary immediate deletions. Your active patrol and removal of vandalism is much appreciated, but please read WP:CSD and WP:Deletion policy; deletion is the last resort for articles that cannot be improved. DGG (talk) 21:33, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I tagged Young was that it appeared to be an article that had been finished writing at the time. Upon reflection, I acted prematurely, and will exercise more caution in applying SD templates on possible unfinished pages. I have read PROD, and the other material, and will continue to use them in making beneficial edits. Sorry about that. Elenseel 22:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to hear your plans, we need more active people like you intend to be. Editors here learn by practice. What you don't mark for deletion, someone else will. They also learn by hanging around WP:AFD discussions and seeing how things go, and what sort of arguments are accepted and what not. It usually takes about 6 or 8 moths of active work until people really feel comfortable with the way of working here. To see the sort of thing that's asked for, you may soon also want to watch WP:RFA, requests for administrator. I've learned to be very careful in sports that I do not myself follow, as I simply don't know what's considered important--just as I avoid music genres where I won't recognize the names. Soon after I came here, I tried to delete an article on a baseball player with an remarkably unlikely career. It turned out that it was actually true, and I still feel embarrassed about it. Please update your status with WP:VG[edit]

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

Orphaned non-free image File:Terry Bozzio Kit.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Terry Bozzio Kit.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
