I think you have done a really excellent job with this draft. It is well-conceived, well-researched, well-organized, and well-written. My only question about it--which may be echoed by Wikipedia editors when you put this in Wikipedia mainspace--is that it may represent WP:OR. To insure that the article is not removed, I think it would be good to add some additional critical references indicating the historical significance of this hoax to make it clear that this is not your own identification of its significance, but that its significance has been validated by other scholars. I think the issue of climate catastrophe hoaxes is extremely interesting and worthwhile. In addition to the links that you've made to other articles, once this article is in mainspace you should consider adding hyperlinks to other relevant articles that point back to it. Well done!
