License tagging for Image:Guggenheim-kids.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Guggenheim-kids.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:07, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Image captions

Please don't use Wikipedia's image captions as a way of promoting yourself and your website, as this is not appropriate. Thanks! Mr WR 22:44, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Guggenheim-kids.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Guggenheim-kids.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 00:52, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
An image that you uploaded, Image:Philip-and-alex.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. pfctdayelise (talk) 06:22, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, sorry about that. I didn't make the connection that you were actually the photographer. My apologies --pfctdayelise (talk) 11:37, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Full resolution version for Image:Philip-and-alex.jpg

[edit]

Hi Elsa, could you please upload the full-resolution from [1] to Image:Philip-and-alex.jpg? Just overwrite the existing image. (I cannot do this myself since you have to place the full-resolution version under GFDL yourself.) -- Ddxc (talk) 21:52, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Elsad, please tell us, if this version is also licensed under the GFDL, or just this smaller thumbnail. Thanks, --Church of emacs (Talk | Stalk) 13:55, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hey

[edit]

It's great that you are putting your work for people to use on wikipedia. I think it's fantastic; we used to have some of your work hanging up in Mather House (at least, I believe it was yours!) 69.17.73.214 (talk) 04:43, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.

[edit]

Did you ever do a portrait of Josefina Yanguas? It would be wonderful if you had one to upload for us! 69.17.73.214 (talk) 04:45, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This was really Elsa Dorfmans account

[edit]

This Ticket from 2006, way before we started to verify accounts, makes it very clear, that this ist Elsa Dorfmans account and she really wanted to upload the pictures she uploaded with a free license. --Seewolf (talk) 16:24, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
