Bloor Collegiate Institute[edit]

Is there anyway you can reference some of the info in the page. And you forgot how the Bloor hockey team gave up over 150 goals while only scoring like 10 or 11 in 10 games. Kingjeff 20:03, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome, and thank you for experimenting with the page Windows XP on Wikipedia! Your test worked, and thank you for reverting or removing it yourself. The best way to do tests in the future would be to use the sandbox. You can look at these pages as well: how to edit a page, the tutorial, and how to write a great article. All of these pages are good places to start. Again, welcome, and I hope that you will like Wikipedia. David Spalding (  ) 18:03, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Arun kochhar.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arun kochhar.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:05, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

A biographical article you have recently written may not meet Wikipedia's generally accepted criteria for inclusion of biographies. It has likely been marked for deletion. Don't worry, there are several other options:

With the above options your biography will be protected from being edited by others, unlike a Wikipedia article.

  • You may create a wiki at EditThis.info or one of the other wiki farms.
  • If you are attempting to make an entry for genealogical purposes, you may find WikiTree.org a useful site (but please do not simply copy material to Wikitree unless you are the original author - their license terms are different from Wikipedia's).
  • If you are, or intend to become, a regular Wikipedia contributor, please use your user page (user:Emancipator) to post biographical information about yourself.
Thanks and welcome to Wikipedia! Please feel free to delete this notice once the issue has been corrected.

It is also a WP:COI. Thanks, 04:31, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Skule-mascot-cannon.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Skule-mascot-cannon.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 17:46, 20 March 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mikemoral♪♫ 17:46, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Dollfie heath.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Dollfie heath.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 00:15, 18 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
