I object to your edit being a `fix' of spelling. Why do you consider it so? mat_x 16:27, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I am new to Wikipedia but I am enjoying it and I enjoyed your article. I called it a fix because behavior is not spelled with a 'u' unless maybe you are a Briton. I don't know if generalization is spelled with an s anywhere. If you don't care for this answer, then alternatively, I called it a fix because it satisfied my burgeoning addiction to Wikipedia. Cheers!

It's certainly not true that only Britons would use that spelling. Anyhoo, let me explain my position: I am British, but I have no preference over which mode (American or British) of English is used as long as it is used consistently within an article. In the case of the above article, it seemed that the spelling was consistently in the British-English style throughout, and therefore a change wasn't necessary.
I imagine a new Wikipedia user would quickly become savvy to these language disparities. Do continue to be vigilent, there's a lot of bad still out there... mat_x 20:41, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I should also have explained my original objection: I disagree that the article has been `fixed', because that suggests that one idiosyncratic mode of spelling is somehow better than another idiosyncratic mode, which is absurd. A poor choice of wording, I guess. mat_x 20:46, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
