Info box images.

[edit]

high, this issue has been addressed a few times over the years and the consensus has been to not put film adaptations in the info boxes of Tolkien related articles. Please see the discussions at WP:me if you want to change the consensus I'd start a discussion there. Cheers GimliDotNet (Speak to me,Stuff I've done) 17:38, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Figwit is a character that only appears in the films, ergo he doesn't fall under the "film adaptation" rule, and if you see the previous discussions the preferred solution is to have no image in the info box, but if one is really needed then an artist impression is preferred over a specific film adaptation. I've started another discussion at WP:me this discussion should really carry on there to get a change to the consensus. GimliDotNet (Speak to me,Stuff I've done) 20:40, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In a related move I have nominated two non-free Middle-earth images for deletion at Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2014 November 11. You might want to chime in there. De728631 (talk) 22:06, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion.

[edit]

Noticed that you've commented on the talk page for the Gondolin image, you need to put your comments on the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Files_for_deletion/2014_November_11#File:Gondolin.jpg really or they're likely to be missed. Cheers. GimliDotNet (Speak to me,Stuff I've done) 21:28, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
