Image copyright problem with Image:Eliask4513697854126548.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Eliask4513697854126548.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 23:57, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

December 2009[edit]

Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Meles Zenawi, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. Categories must also be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. -- Gyrofrog (talk) 05:28, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gyrofrog, thank you for the information. But your claim that Ethiopian Review is a blog is incorrect. Ethiopian Review is a journal that has been in circulation since 1944. It is the most authoritative source on Ethiopia. Thank you.

Thanks for the update. Are the website ethiopianreview.com (where the article appears) and the journal Ethiopian Review not the same thing, then? (Other than sharing a name) The website is in the form of a blog, and when it said "according to Ethiopian Review" it appeared that the blog was referring to itself (that is, ethiopianreview.com). The website should have been more clear about the journal being the original source (and posting volume, page number etc.) -- Gyrofrog (talk) 23:13, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gyrofrog, the web site is not "in the form of a blog." It is a news and opinion journal with correspondents, experts in various fields, commentators, and editors. Ethiopian Review is the most read Ethiopian and authoritative news journal. If you do a little research you can find out that yourself. Thank you.

On amicable resolution of editing disagreements[edit]

You have been inserting essentially the same material into List of heads of state and government by net worth‎ for quite some time now. Wikipedia is built by consensus among all the editors interested in a particular article, and your behavior constitutes edit warring. If you continue in this vein, you will be blocked from editing. So far as I can tell, the root of the disagreement is whether or not ethiopianreview.com is a reliable source for the statements made in the specific sense used here. If you have not already done so, I recommend that you open a discussion at the Reliable sources noticeboard; feel free to ask at my talkpage if you would like clarification or assistance. You may also wish to track down other reliable sources which make the same statement. In the meantime, please do not continue to make the same edit until the discussion at Talk:List of heads of state and government by net worth has resolved. - 2/0 (cont.) 19:27, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Meles on heads of state and government by net worth[edit]

Again, the consensus that was arrived at was to exclude Meles until you could provide an alternate and unbiased source. Ethiopian Review has made ridiculous claims about Wikipedia editors being mafia without any evidence, which only shows their method of printing rumour and attacking those against that do not support their political agenda. This discredits Ethiopian Review as a source, and only increases the likelihood that the figure they arrived at for Meles' wealth was indeed falsified or completely made up. You should spend your time looking for a source other than Ethiopian Review. [tk] XANDERLIPTAK 16:38, 7 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License information needed for File:Elias Kifle.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Elias Kifle.gif. However, we need to make sure a license is correctly displayed before it is okay to use on Wikipedia.

Please click here and do the following:

  1. Choose the appropriate license template: it needs to be a free license, in the public domain, or have a non-free use rationale. If you need help, you may ask at the media copyright questions page.
  2. Paste in the template code, and save the page.

If you follow these steps, your image can help enhance Wikipedia. Thank you for your contribution! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:06, 28 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Elias Kifle.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Elias Kifle.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 08:33, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
