Regarding Amtrak

[edit]

While I happen to be a railfan myself, I cannot call $1.4 billion in taxpayer funding small in any way. Even if you do not think that $1.4 billion dollars is large, I do think there should be some mention of taxpayer funding in the lead-in of the amtrak article. Welcome

[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Epione218, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one of your contributions does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  ScottyBerg (talk) 13:59, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Amtrak

[edit]

Even without that sentence, I am disturbed by the POV of the lead section, especially its last sentence. I suggest we take this discussion to Talk:Amtrak. ScottyBerg (talk) 15:45, 10 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sneaked

[edit]

Ah, I'm American, which might explain the difference. "Sneaked" is primarily used in Commonwealth English, whereas "snuck" is American English. See also wikt:sneak#Usage notes, though you are right about MW and other dictionaries using mainly sneaked. I apologise for the misunderstanding...typically, we use American English for U.S. topics on Wikipedia, and I've personally never seen "sneaked" used in local written material. But, c'est la vie, I've learned something new. Huntster (t @ c) 09:46, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks...
