Hi, Erika00177, Welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for your contributions, you seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics! If you need help on how to title new articles see the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. For general questions goto Wikipedia:Help or the FAQ, if you can't find your answer there check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. If you have any more questions after that, feel free to ask me directly on my user talk page.

Vemiesiire

[edit]

Welcome indeed. However, I must tell you that I will submit your article Vemiesiire for deletion within minutes. The problem with it is that is doesn't fit in Wikipedia for several reasons. Most importantly, it is original research and not verifiable. Less importantly, it was written by the author of the language, which is generally not done, and with 0 Google hits I think we can safely state that the language isn't notable enough either. Of course, you are welcome to share your opinion on the AfD page.

Don't let that discourage you, though. One thing you must understand is that constructed languages are constantly under attack here; many people would love to see the whole conlang section limited to Esperanto only. In order not to give ammunition to those people, it's important that we keep the conlang section as clean and high-standard as possible. I hope you don't feel offended by my "delete" proposal.

Anyway, here are a few suggestions for preserving your article:

  • Create a website for it. If you are interested in conlangs in general, you can join the Conlang List and discuss your language there.
  • You might consider moving the article to your own user space (like this: User:Erika00177/Vermiesiire). Occasionally pages like that can be subject to a deletion procedure too, but only when the content is extremely rude, insulting, pornographic, etc. Normally, people won't touch it there. In your case I'm sure the article will be fairly safe there.
  • Should you decide to write something on your user page, you may of course say something about Vermiesiire too.
  • You can also create an article on the Conlang Wiki at Wikicities. Another popular wiki for conlangs is http://wiki.frath.net.
  • Any conlang should have an entry on Langmaker.com. Langmaker is currently experiencing technical problems, but I'm sure those will be solved at some point.

Best regards & happy conlanging, —IJzeren Jan In mij legge alle fogultjes een ij 07:15, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
