Thank youuuuuuuuuu for doing all your best it's just awesome thank you pal!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy! Thank you so so so much!!! ShahidTalk2me 00:37, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll try to look it over more later--I have school in about 30 minutes. I'm not that familiar with WP:BLP, so I'll probably have to review that before I look at the article.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 12:36, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heyyyyyyyy... I'm shocked!!!! Wow!! OK you removed award winning. mmm BOI, but her popularity is not based only on Box office India, and that's how it sounds now. She is in the top three actresses today, though I have no good source for it. Two additional reasons why not to add it. A) Box Office India is already mentioned in the lead twice... (repetitious) B) The lead summarizes the article, and the article really shows why she is popular precisely.
My best regards dear friend, ShahidTalk2me 12:46, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The box office provides only success, not popularity. All the list where she is placed on the top - they provide she is popular. The whole article provides it. Every controversy, every important public appearance, every media speculation, every hit. See Kareena Kapoor - all of her films from 2002 to date have been flops but yet she is very popular. ShahidTalk2me 12:53, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Someone asks re image of KANK. Please don't let them remove it. ShahidTalk2me 12:56, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The image is not fair use, so we have to remove it? Oh man this image is so important. What did he ask there actually? ShahidTalk2me 13:03, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes but it has its own license it doesn't necessarily need to be a fair use. ShahidTalk2me 13:08, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I like what you've written there. Thanks, ShahidTalk2me 13:10, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'l look for good images. ShahidTalk2me 13:22, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh it reminded me of Kareena Kapoor. When Bollywood Dreamz added three FU images for Kareena under the same reason, User:Yamla removed them... ? ShahidTalk2me 13:27, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Blof the recently added image is from Kal Ho Naa Ho not Koi Mil Gaya and it's not really notable. She won the Best Actress award for Kal Ho Naa Ho so what do you think about this image Image:KHNHLS.jpg?? ShahidTalk2me 13:35, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to change this image. The film is a tearjerker. ShahidTalk2me 13:40, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing. Everything is OK. KHNH was an international hit and earned her many awards. But it was a tearjerker and this new image illustrates the matter in a better way. Isn't it? ShahidTalk2me 13:45, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I am but there must be a better image for Kya Kehna. I'm looking for. ShahidTalk2me 13:56, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No it's not from KK. Here is a good link [1] There are couple of images here. The second one is from Kya Kehna (in Sari). The image with Bobby Deol from soldier, she is so HOT there, isn't she? So what do you say? ShahidTalk2me 14:04, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes!!! I expanded the description. What do you say? ShahidTalk2me 14:13, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
One user removed your request to review the article and wrote not so nice message on the FAC page. Please see that. I replied to him. ShahidTalk2me 18:09, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeh don't take it seriously. I personally amazed with your keenness to keep people aware of this and fighting for its promotion. I'm really grateful. Thanks, ShahidTalk2me 18:24, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is! That's great! Wish you all the best! ShahidTalk2me 19:26, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No there are no citation problems there. The user who's been working on it has done a very good work. We just need to improve it further in the writing aspect. It needs a major copyediting. I will dedicate myself to it after that. I adore her. In my opinion, Lata Mangeshkar and Bhosle are the best singers in the world for all intents and purposes. Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 19:44, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats Blofeld on Zinta's article recently being promoted to an A-class status. All the best in taking it to a FA status. According to me it's already a FA. BTW I plan to read and support the article in taking it to a FA status tomorrow. Hope you don't mind!! I am currently busy with university and just came on Wikipedia for a while to revert some vandalisms. Best Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 02:01, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When I have os god friends in the area to help me, like you and Bollywood Dreamz, I don't even care for the article. You were so quick in making your edits, I just couldn't follow it. You may be exhausted!!! Thanks, ShahidTalk2me 19:47, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Preity Zinta FA[edit]

Hi there Blofeld. I'll see what I can do—I've got two articles sort of lined up for reviewing, will see when I can get to them. Best, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 13:12, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I left a message of support for Preity Zinta. I haven't been able to find any DVD on OK Connery, have you ? I think it should be watched first. Who's Croctotheface ? Seems to have stirred things up.

lol

Tovojolo 18:13, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Herr Blofeld. I've been doing a little work on the surprisingly neglected area of Korean film lately, and I've come across a little problem, which is especially glaring on the List of South Korean films: There are two directors named Kim Ki-duk. The one we have an article on is a currently-active art-film director. The other one was a genre-film director in the 1960s & 1970s-- most notably of the 1967 giant-monster film Yongary. The Yongary link on the list goes to the art-film director, which is wrong... How do we solve a problem like this? Or maybe I should just stick to the Pink Films? Dekkappai 18:45, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great! That solves the problem. Yes, I volunteer to work on that list. As a long-time fan of Korean film, I'm shocked that so many of Im Kwon-taek's films have no articles, so I'm starting by filling in some of that huge gap. There are also a lot of other Korean film articles on Wiki that are not on the list yet-- I'm putting them in during my spare time. In the meantime, Japanese erotic cinema is still in just the beginning stages... Tough work, but someone's got to do it! Dekkappai 19:59, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Greetings, Mr. Blofeld. I'll chip away at that list in my spare time. I have a suspicion, and so far it appears to be accurate, that the list of articles currently on Wiki is going to be disproportionately heavily tilted towards the 2000s. I'll put up articles on Im Kwon-taek's films of the '80s and '70s, and the few I know of the '60s... Once I get that done I'll look at other directors. But this will be a long-term project in-between work on those fascinating "Pink Films", of course. Dekkappai 20:43, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Preity Zinta FA nomination[edit]

Greetings, oh Blofeld of the Japanese volcano, and blessings on all your works.

How did you pick me for a request for comment on the Preity Zinta FA? I ask because I have only tried for FA on a total of one article, and I found the resulting experience to be frustrating, intimidaing, and depressing. I tried an FA on Itanium, The FAR had NO responses for about a month, followed by a series of pro forma responses about form rather than contents, with stupid and inconistent generalizations instead of useful suggestion. Based on this experience, I basically gave up, thinking that I would try again later, but I cannot summon any enthusiasm to restart the FA: I emotionally gave up on the FAR process and the entire FA concept. Your note about your FA prompts me to ask how you picked me? I will respond to your request for an FA review because I would have liked a bunch of reviews for my FAR, but I really need to know how to select a list of FAR reviewers for the next time I make the attempt. How did you pick me? -Arch dude 01:32, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blof this O2 removed all your strikes from the FAC page. ShahidTalk2me 03:31, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We are in problems mate. I've been fighting these users on Zinta's FAC talk page for hours, and now a user strongly opposes, because as per her the controversy Krishnamurthy section needs a major copy-editing... Oh I'm so sad, ShahidTalk2me 05:10, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's a sure thing Blof, the Other work and controversies sections must be copy-edited, and they're the main problem now. I'm afraid. ShahidTalk2me 06:34, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heyyyy thanks for copy-editing it. I don't know what the future of this article is, but I'm happy that you're here to help. I'm so grateful to you. Even if the article isn't promoted, your help is the best thing here. That's what mostly important to me, and that's why I'm happy nevertheless. For your help. Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 17:55, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Blof, not all of Zinta's controversies are related to her personal life. Especially the Bharat Shah case. ShahidTalk2me 18:38, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The defamation case should be moved to the In the media section. What do you say? ShahidTalk2me 19:30, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm always happy with your edits Blofeld. Wikipedia needs more editors like you, who can contribute so much in such a diverse range of subjects. I truly truly feel that you and Shahid have improved Zinta's article by leaps and bounds. All the best with Zinta's article and you can count on my support anytime. Wish you all the best in life!! --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:17, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But there are actually negative quotes in the career section. See Khullam Khulla Pyar Karen, see Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. We have to limit, and she generally receives good reviews. What can we do? LOL I'll go through the refs and check the references. ShahidTalk2me 20:22, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeh I know. It was a strong case. All kinds of fanatics beilieved that it was the end of the world. He is such a brilliant actor! God! That's amazing. Even at 65, he won the National Film Award for Best Actor. Everyone treats him like a God. Oh Zinta has worked with him in 5 films! He rocks! ShahidTalk2me 20:39, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the compliments and support!! Regards --Bollywood Dreamz Talk 20:43, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Going through the article, I'm sure it's thousand times better than it was before, just brilliant. You've done a terrific job. The personal life is so well related and flaws in a brilliant way. Thank you and congrats, ShahidTalk2me 21:17, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeh I've already started off my work on Rekha's page. I divided the career section to decades and will work on it. But I mostly want to improve the Asha Bhosle page. It is in exellent shape in my opinion, though now I see that it is a very hard task to promote an article to an FA. The image is really great! I like it. Thanks for uploading. Wow! Sandy has begun her work on Zinta now. ShahidTalk2me 23:17, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what's the matter with this Tony! He looks an embittered guy! After you and sendy improved the article, he changed his Oppose to Strong oppose! And he is so rude! But I have actually addressed most of his comments and Sendy's too. Sendy had also left many hidden comments on the article whily editing it (she didn't want to load the FAC page with tons of suggestions, so she did that on the article), and I addressed all of them almost. I provided a reliable source instead of Youtube. I also removed the Filmfare magazine rankings completely cause we had no source for that, and I have no way to prove it actually. But I don't care for it. I just don't know what Tony's basic problem is. He is really embittered. LOL see that, he rudely wrote "Excuse me,,," and I added Done tag. LOL. Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 07:41, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please leave me alone.[edit]

I don't want to have to pursue some sort of official dispute resolution here. Your opinion that my edits are "disruptive" is certainly novel. I'll edit what I want, so just leave me be. Croctotheface 19:40, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PLEASE help me Blof where are you we are in serious troubled. Some stupid user gave a strong oppose saying that almost all the sources here are unreliable. He did that because he wikistalked me after we had a tiff on the Shahrukh Khan article. Look what he does here. Please help. ShahidTalk2me 08:47, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So finally, as I see this definitely won't be promoted. ShahidTalk2me 08:53, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't let them block me. Where are you? ShahidTalk2me 09:40, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Greek cinema[edit]

I thought there might be a template for it knocking about somewhere! Cheers. Lugnuts 15:15, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, the latter! I found it had half a dozen films on one page, with a couple from the 1910s/1920s. Thought I'd split them out and stumbled across the Greek one! Lugnuts 15:45, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just had a look at Abbas Kiarostami. Its a very good article, and I'm glad that despite the quibbling on the FAC page, it was promoted. The excess linking by copyeditors was just brilliant too... I get the feeling something similar is gonna happen on Zinta... but anyway...
Just had a request, if you could, please have a look at Discrete Bipolar Transistor Biasing ? I've written the whole thing, all the content, made all the images. I requested a peer review of it, but no-ones dropped by yet... perhaps you could add your comments to improve the article?
Again, technical isn't everyones field. But I just thought I'd ask. Thanks,xC | 20:43, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No kidding! I have a friend studying in Cardiff Uni right now.. taken psychology but leaning towards automobile engg...
Anyway, keep up the great work! :) Happy editing,xC | 21:25, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not a clue. Is it even possible to find out?!xC | 22:32, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
WHOA! I just had a look... Man, that is just insane!!xC | 22:49, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
WP? Published?? Not happening anytime soon...
Me - Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
You?xC | 22:50, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
yeah it is a bit late... its around 4.30 in the morning here... lol...
well, i've grown up with bollywood around me, so yeah, i do know a good bit... enough to add something worth knowing to WP... a lot of my edits are bollywood-centric actually...
its something we'll all come to... american and british films dominate because of the westernization of everything... bollywood will follow, no doubt... you can't keep art on this scale suppressed too long...
ive been over the FAC and tried to address a few more concerns.. if you can, do try to have a look... if you're still ticked over what happened.. well, hey, shit happens .. :P
anyway, im exhausted here.. so im going to catch some sleep... happy editing,xC | 23:04, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sir Blofeld. I recognized that you were removing 6'4" from the tall men list. Well, if you wanna hear my opinion. It would be a better idea if the list of tall men would start with 6'3" because the physical examinations say, that tallness begins with 1,90 m. But I'm 6'6" myself and I think, that 6'3" is still the average height. 6'4" is hasitating between average and tall. D@rk K 20:38, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again! Thanks for your convinced answers and thanks for thinking that I'm tall enough. I wish I could be 6'7" but I'm already turning to 19 years old. Greetings and best wishes! D@rk K 21:50, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, my desire is to become as tall as the actor David Prowse, who played Darth Vader in Star Wars. On my userpage, you can see that I'm a Star Wars-fan. And yes, I also adore the NBA. D@rk K 01:20, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there! I've added 6'4" to the list of tall men chapter again. If there are further discussion, then I'll remove 6'4" at once, Cheers! D@rk K 10:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your cooperation. If the discussion about adding 6'4" starts again, then please give me a shout and we will see the result, Cheers! D@rk K 19:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there: Your new article PT Inti Indorayon Utama is an exact copy, including the chart, of part of the text in the article Sukanto Tanoto. Perhaps the name "PT Inti Indorayon Utama" just needs a re-direct to the Sukanto Tanoto page. I don't know how to do this. If nothing happens in the next day or so, I'll ask an admin. You can get an author's Speedy Delete for an article made by mistake. I can't tag it a copy vio, as the only match I have found is another Wiki page. It is interesting that the language of the text that is duplicated is so much more sophisticated than that of the rest of the Tanoto page. Truly remarkable, that! :-) Bielle 02:14, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

YES!!! Thank you so much. ShahidTalk2me 13:50, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. I've been watching new articles about Indonesian movies and actors. Good work. — Indon (reply) — 13:57, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I remeber you have been blocked one because of a misunderstanding. You told me, "I guess it is one of the most days I've known here". So you may understand how I felt. ShahidTalk2me 13:59, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good luck to you. Of course I've seen Bruce Lee's films and many films of Jackie Chan, love these films!!! They're great! ShahidTalk2me 16:08, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Did you know that in the beginning of his career Akshay Kumar was called "The Indian Bruce Lee"? Really! He's done some very enjoyable action films. If you really like action films, I suggest you to watch Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, a great action thriller (and don't forget the controversial song... Shower with Rekha!!! LOL :)) You know who is Denny's most frequent co-star? Undoubtedly Mithun Chakraborty. Mithun has acted in so many action films, and to surprise I'll say that have watched all of them. I have generally seen all the films of the superstars, from Amitabh Bachchan (Oh his page:-( ) to Shahrukh Khan... ShahidTalk2me 16:31, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mmmm I don't know if you will like Sarkar. It was critically acclaimed, but mm I don't know if suggest you that or not. See Salaam Namaste - very modern, cool, shot in Australia, successful etc. Have you seen songs of it on you tube? "My Dil Goes Mmmm", "Salaam Namaste" are my favorite. ShahidTalk2me 16:53, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your response, Sir Blofeld, though I am somewhat confused still. First, if it were up to me (and it is not) I would keep people whose principal claim to faim is with a company in the same article with the company, and the title of the article would be the name that is more recognizable. I doubt, however, if anyone on Wiki would agree with me, so the split you propose is likely fine as long as the repeated text then gets move out of the Tatonto article. Something is still not right about the vastly different qualitiy of the opening parts of the text from the rest. Second, I thought I was talking to Blofeld of SPECTRE who now seems to be User:The King of Baldness:The King of Baldness (or perhaps not) and even possibly Shshshsh who responded first above to my comment, but as User:Shahid:Shahid who also doesn't seem to exist. What a lot of personas for one query! Are you in the process of changing your name(s)? I have, for simplicity's sake, changed your signature on my discussion page to the less overwhelming standard form. This is no comment on the artwork, but on my eyes. Thanks again. Bielle 17:09, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh that's great if you like it. I didn't imagine. Enjoy your film. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 17:29, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you remove the messages LOL? ShahidTalk2me 19:07, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all LOL!!! I replied to all of your messages didn't I... Regards, :) ShahidTalk2me 19:11, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. I'm just tired :([edit]

Another user, (the one who reported about my 3RR violation) has had another impolite tiff with me over the Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan pages. Because I reverted his edits, he came to our FAC and opposed saying "unreliable source". I can't revert his edits on the pages if he makes any further reversions because I don't want to violate the rule. Yet, his oppose is clear - he wants to revange. Oh gos so childish. I replaced so many unreliable sources with reliable ones and he just tries to annoy me. We have to turn to somebody. Plus, they're major "unreliable" site is boxofficeIndia.com LOL the official one!!! It' used in FAs like Lage Raho Munnabhai!! It's a shame... ShahidTalk2me 19:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are the only one who really understands me as I witnessed on my own talk page. You said "Shahid finds it difficult..". that was so precise!!!
Ok don't worry, I'm now primarily working on Zinta's page. No bollyspice, no santabanta, no blogs, no free mexicans, no preityzinta.com. All of these were addressed and removed. Apunkachoice is reliable, I'll later provide sources. Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 20:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've found an evidence for boxofficeindia.com being reliable! Please see Indiatimes and TOI mentioned it on several occasions, writing "According to boxofficeindia.com..." - [2][3]. I think if it is mentioned in reputable sites which use it as a source for themselves, it is definitealy reliable. What do you say? Spartaz agreed. Poloc Cricket Club[edit]

Am a newbie at this whole WIKIPEDIA and just "trying ma' wee best" to quote an eleven year-old girl - my daughter! - I've had my zillionth "go" at writing a WIKI-acceptable article on Poloc Cricket Club after you were kind enough to toss me some comments. Trust you think the amendments are OK? KeithGYoung 20:51, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again. Nice pic' of Pollok Park's appeared on the page - don't know if you put in there? Incidentally it's actually a picture of the 15th hole on Pollok Golf Club. The golf club's one of three on the Pollok Estate in Glasgow, and is across the River Cart from the Cricket Club. I'd guess locals wouldn't call the vista shown, "Pollok Park", as "Pollok Park" is that part of the Estate from where the pic's being taken, not where it's looking. I'm almost feeling pedantic enough to go edit the original pic'! I'll put other pic's up on the page - all are taken by my own fair hand.....holding a Canon SLR :-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by KeithGYoung (talkcontribs) 21:22, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Burma/Problems[edit]

Burma stuff looks good. The World Film Fest just wrapped in Bangkok, so I've been occupied with that. Hope to make some contributions on the films relating to that over the coming weeks. Already noticed somebody started a new article on one of the winning directors, a Turkish director.

Now I'm having problems connecting to Wikipedia, only at home, and only Wikipedia. Other websites are fine. And I can access it at work and with my laptop at wireless venues outside my home. I can't figure out what the problem is, nor do I even know who to call to fix it. I can use the secure login, but it is very sloooooooooow, and can't see images, but commons and other wikimedia sites are also inaccessible.— WiseKwai 21:07, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think my computer caught a virus or spyware. I did a clean with some spyware programs, did a system restore to a day when Wikipedia was working, but for three days now, no luck. It's frustrating. Generally on those Chinese names, the naming convention is the opposite of whatever IMDb uses. Sometime I'd like to do more work on the Shaw Bros films and actors. — WiseKwai 21:32, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Findefiesta'1960.jpg[edit]

Hi again[edit]

I just wanted to drop you a note saying how sorry I am that the FA for Preity Zinta seems to have gotten so far out of hand and has caused so much stress. I sometimes wonder if anyone one remembers the "have fun" while editing suggestion anymore. I am still plugging away at the Brit film lists though I know that I slowed way down in the last couple of months. Other editing, including some stressful moments with other editors, have taken away some of my will at times. But I will get there as I only have a couple of letters left to go.

To answer your question I don't have Pale Rider on DVD. I do have one little thing that I want to pass along about another Clint film that you might find interesting. The next time that you watch Every Which Way But Loose be aware that it was filmed, for the most part, in Denver in the late 1970s. I was in college then and I have been in almost every place that is used in the film. Unfortunately, the film has become a bit of a museum piece for me as almost all of the places that you see no longer exist. It is still fun to see them though and maybe it will cheer you up a bit knowing that an editor that you know has some connections to this film. Cheers and take care and HANG IN THERE. I went ahead and tagged that image. Thanks for starting the article. I need to start discussion about the structure of the film festival lists. "Central America", where Belize is situated, is actually, geographically, "North America", so it's on the North and Central America list of festivals. A split of the North America list is in order, putting Canada and the US on one list. Then there would be a merge with the South America list, but the name could get wacky. Something like, "List of film festivals in Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean and the Bahamas". Hmm, actually not too bad. Or, I could go with List of film festivals in Latin America, but there's something that is potentially un-PC, and probably inaccurate, about that name, since it is more of a cultural label than a specifically geographic one. — WiseKwai 11:38, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Duel of Fists[edit]

Dude, check the article history. I never got around to creating a shot in Thailand/Bangkok cat. Every Thai film would be in it if there was one. That's a lot of work that I'm not interested in getting into right now. Anyway, Duel of Fists is on the list of films shot in Thailand. It's an insane film, costumewise. The clothes are crazy. I've always wanted to start on article on the Thai actress who was in that film, but have had a hard time trying to find English-language info about her. — WiseKwai 12:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I'm tired[edit]

They now claim that The Times of India is unreliable. I'm exhauted... I didn't imagine that making an FA is so difficult. I can't stand this any longer. I've removed tons of non-RS.. It's up to my powers. Let them declare it as "not promoted". Who is this user Binguyen to decide that the TOI is unreliable. He has no authority for that. Tomorrow they'll say that Rediff is non-RS. I'm really tired. :( ShahidTalk2me 12:45, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics#Bollywood articles. We have discussed it. Initially, they presented something like 10 sites in the list, but fortunately, I was quick enough to remove them from the article and I removed them there after an announcement of one day that they are no longer there. I'm trying and trying and that's all just... Oh God!! I can't be here now, It's a shame. ShahidTalk2me 13:08, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Everything which is shown in BOI.com is actually right, and that's I'm saying according to my awareness and involvement in all kinds of Bollywood's media. I mean, talk shows, television, award ceremonies, newspapers etc. Everything which is pointed out there, comes to be eventually approved in the media. A few days ago it was said that "Speed", "No smoking" and "LaagaChunari Mein Daag" flopped, and it has always been that way. I trust this site 100%. I can't say anything else. And I don't know why it's projected as unreliable. Almost every Bollywood article uses it, as I said, including one featured article. An award[edit]

The article was not promoted! So what? Here is my answer to that.

The Indian Cinema Barnstar
Dear Blofeld!

Words could never express my immense appreciation toward you and your hard work on Wikipedia. You were declared as the most active and the best editor here.

I looked for some barnstar to award you, but I suddenly caught that a barnstar which could reward your terrific work, has not been created yet - because "The Best Editor Barnstar" is not there.

So here is a barnstar. I give it to you and simultaneously thank you for your hard work on Bollywood related articles (even though your unfamiliar with the industry), and the Preity Zinta article in particular. You've created so many articles, you've done so much and it amazes me every time.

I thank you again for your keenness to improve the encyclopedia, to expand it. Thank you for being so nice, so funny, so encouraging, so helpful.

And finally, thank you for your existence on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is so lucky to have such a brilliant and dedicated editor like you, Blofeld.

Have no words, jsut, please receive this barnstar! My best regards, ShahidTalk2me 19:26, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you friend! I'm not upset at all. I'm happy! It was a great learning experience. I didn't imagine that promoting an article to a FA status would be so difficult, and now I know, and we will be more prepared towards the next nomination, because I'm not going to give up. I've learnt a lot of important things. And actually this article is an 'A'-class excellent one, and that's definitely thanks to you. Thank you Blofeld... Oops, I mean the best editor on Wikipedia... ;)
Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 19:58, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Blof, could you please go to Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics‎ and remove your own comment which states that BOI is not accessible? It is a cause to some speculations. ShahidTalk2me 01:33, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In short, however, I must mention that things wouldnt and neednt have come to such a pass, but for Shshshh's intransigence. More later. Please do come back. Thanks. Blof please don't do that!!! Blof please! They don't deserve such a reaction from you. It must be a joke. ShahidTalk2me 16:23, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Blofeld, this is shocking. I strongly believe, you are over reacting. Can you please take a deep breath or two, and calm down. You have been among the most prolific contributors in this whole project, and it will be a HUGE loss if you leave. You have been contributing for a long time, and enjoying your stay here. You should not allow any one incident to distract you from your path here. Please do not leave. Please. Do not take this hasty decision. Thanks in advance for coming back. - KNM Talk 16:28, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Indian[edit]

Hi Blofeld. Sorry to see you a bit discouraged. I know too how frustrating it can be here sometimes-- the Great Image Purge being just one of those frustrations. I'm looking into putting one of my articles through the GA process too, and I expect more frustrations to appear there... I've felt the need to take breaks myself now and then, but I come back because I find writing, editing and contributing here to be endlessly fascinating. I'm sure you're the same way. All I can say is, expect these minor set-backs, but keep up the great work. You're obviously well-appreciated here! About the Hong Kong cinema-- I'll probably just stick to the Korean and Japanese areas. I have my hands more than full with just those two countries. Dekkappai 17:00, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blofeld, Wikipedia is not the same without you![edit]

Please comeback. ShahidTalk2me 17:31, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I can understand your frustrations. I've been in the same boat myself once or twice. But I do think that you are not "wasting your time", as you put it, because your contributions to date have been extremely important. Right now, it looks basically like you hit the wall of Indian grammar in the UK/US English wikipedia. I think that this is probably a major problem for multiple articles written in Indian English. It'll probably take a while, but I am virtually certain that the article can be turned into an FA with a fairly serious level of copyediting, probably in no more than a month. It'll just take a while. Conquering the world always takes a bit of time, as you probably know by now. Other editors I know, like User:Ovadyah, have expressed similar feelings recently. In his case, the FA Ebionites article has been delisted, largely due to an editor whose "contributions" have basically now got the Arbitration Committee "examining" him. And I know a lot of articles that have been promoted to FA, only to be demoted to B or so. It happens repeatedly. One question does come to mind, though, and I think you probably know more about this than I do. Do you think a group which had as its specific purpose working on copyediting Asian English grammar would have enough work to do to justify its creation? I'm getting the impression they might, but don't know firsthand. I'm thinking of creating a Standard English copyediting group, but don't know if there would be enough content to justify creating it. You probably know much more about that than I do, and I would welcome any input you might have. John Carter 17:48, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Argentina[edit]

Look if they don't appreciate your work in India, we would certainly love to see you back around in Argentina. There's all those Departments in need of articles, Argentine Tango seems to be fertile ground for creating new articles, especially about the Tango film genre, and Dnfenner has been doing some great work on Argentine railways. Hey hombre[edit]

I agree I will no longer contribute as well due to that BETACOMMAND bot. It's a shame. Luigibob 16:49, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey big time Bloefeld. So good to hear from you. Yes, I'm sort of back. Most, of my work is maintaining the films that I've spent considerable amount of time on (see my User page). I've especially added the article link to the "fair use" section in the many images I've added. I can't believe that idiot bot was created for such a trivial matter. Its led to the deletion to hundreds of images on Wiki. It's that kind of shit that made me stop editing for so long. I see you've been pissed off at the BETACOMMAND bot as well.
I can use the US films from the 50's and 60's templates you created. I'll add the template to the American films I edit. Good work!
Cheers buddy and keep in touch. Luigibob (talk)

Shout out, late November[edit]

Hey Blofeld, man of the world: I trust you are well and keeping out of trouble. I'm editing away in film noir films, bringing the ones I work on the usual Start Plus, or B Minus. This genre/style ned a lot of help. I finally joined the Wiki Films Project. I've been moving sections around as per Wiki film guidelines on the film I edit. You know cast section after background section and the like. I'll hit the Argentine films soon: the ones I worked on and there are a bunch if you see my User Page.
Those USA Wiki film templates are super cool and I am adding them to all the films on my User Page, and any film that I edit for any reason. Congrats! I reached out to admin. Skier, and he was very helpful. I had an aggressive novice junking up a very good article.
I'll hit a foreign film &/or a Brazilian film (a good one) in due course. Keep on being a cool cat! Luigibob 16:10, 30 November 2007 (UTC)Talk to Luigi![reply]

Oh, come on[edit]

Don't let a bot get you down. It's a machine. Okay, I understand that there's probably more to it than that. Anyway, take a breather, relax, and come back refreshed. — WiseKwai 17:43, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Betacommandbot, please go away for awhile, OK?[edit]

I know you probably can't read this, but don't you think that 35 notices on a single page might be overdoing it at least a tad, like is the case now? I'd get more than a little frustrated by seeing such regular bot postings questioning my work as well. Or maybe you could combine all the notices into a single post? I don't know. I come to your talk page and all I see are messages from betacommand, so figured that might have had something to do with it. That and an article about a certain Indian actress. Country philately stubs[edit]

I tend to not like to create stubs, but it's true that it can be a long time between the gathering of suitable references for full-length country philately articles, so sure, I'll help make some stubs. There are about a thousand entities for which articles could be written, so yeah, multiple footers are needed. In addition to continent, you could also have "British area", "Portuguese area", etc. Stan 07:46, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Blof I need your urgent help regarding reliability issues. As you know, I've already proved boxofficeindia.com's reliability, but apparently, this Sravagnya has problems with every possible site in the area (even indiaFM.com!!!!). Now, if boxofficeindia.com disappears, all the Bollywood pages will be in very serious problems - all of them use this site for box office figures approval.

I've found links from ToI, mentioning it. I think, if ToI can use BOI as a sorce of information for themeselves (the source clearly states: "according to boxofficeindia.com), why Wikipedia cannot.

As you know, User:Spartaz and User:Nichalp support me, but this Sarvagnya is somehow emotional about it.

I don't care what he says, but to avoid any troubles in the future, I think we have to guarantee that this site is OK (although I did). So, do you have some way to contact them, send them an e-mail or whatever to get a reply? I'm really impressed with your way to do this with bollywoodblog.com. Can you please give your hand. We've been using this site for almost two years. It's a shame. More than thousand pages use it here. That's a trouble.

Best regards Blof, ShahidTalk2me 16:03, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ToI = Times of India.
Why are you out of the context? I know you're pretty disappointed with Preity's page and it's OK. I can't blame you. But you said that you still would help the Bollywood pages. And it's a universal problem for our Bollywood pages. Without BOI, all of that work can be thrown far, and it worths an O.
Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 16:22, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I said that several times. There is a home page. There was only one technical problem on this specific page, and the home page was unaccessible. Here is the home page
The previous case with the actresses filmographies was a unique one. If you took this page as an example - [5] and click home, you will instantly be receive the home page.

It was a hard period for me too. But I didn't want to let myself down. I didn't want to give them this kind of happiness. Thanks god I have the support of Dwai, who makes a good job. He was the only one who supported me, and said that a GA was not such a big deal. He is so nice.
These days were terrible. KNM just blanked the page that day, saying he was addressing concerns. It was not nice. We had been working hours on that. That's why I rewrote. And day after, he nominated it for a GA review, and that's not all. Day after Sarvagnya and the latter came to user:Spartaz and asked him to block me (for ne reason). The former provided false diffs, saying that I've violated 3RR, and KNM said that I own the page. Again, thanks god I was sufficiently quick to sent a message to Spartaz and clarify myself. It was terrible, and without you, it was even worse. So many users assumed bad faith on me after my block, trying to annoy me with their edits. ShahidTalk2me 16:47, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As I showed you there are no problems with BOI at all. The home is very very much there. Will you send an e-mail or contact them somehow? At the very bottom you have all the details. Again, I'll give you the home page. This is. What do you say? ShahidTalk2me 16:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Eric Bana and Austin Nichols are great examples to your claims. Although the prose is good, they're too brief and are not comprehensive IMO. These articles are undoubtedly GAs, but FAs is an exaggeration here. Thank you for contacting this site. Hope to get news ASAP. Much appreciated friend. ShahidTalk2me 17:14, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What particularly hurt me in this GA review was that it was full of bias. Users expressed their disliking toward Zinta, some of them expressed their towards me, without any professional notices. It was terrible. See my notes in brackets. Sarvagnya said "the article is bad (and what did he mean?) and the assumption of bad faith by its lead editors is worse (oh now it's clear)."
Bignuyen - "article is very POV (Why? Where?), it gives the impresion that PZ is the biggest actress in Bollywood and so forth (and what's the problem with that?), even though she only does all these "pretty stupid girl" roles (Oh now it's clear what you mean. You just don't like her)"
Good to note, that all these "opposers", all of them were those who opposed to its FAC promotion, and it's quite interesting. I think there was some interaction between them behind Wikipedia's walls. While only xC supported it and then opposed.
Sarvagnya doesn't like me, and he showed his bias openly. Binguyen just dislikes Preity, saying that she does "pretty stupid girl" roles. It's clearly not true. She is one of the most versatile actresses in Bollywood: An unwed mother, a prostitute, a surrogate mother (the first one in Bollywood to play this role), a strong CBI officer, a journalist, a suffering American insecure girl, an independent woman in the USA and in Australia, a schizophrenic. And now she turned towards art cinema. Binguyen's way to call these roles is "stupid girls roles". That was so offensive, especially when I was so excited with every new role of her and every performance. I'm shocked with their attitude. ShahidTalk2me 17:41, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
How much more so when Binguyes is not Indian at all. He takes the lebertity to criticise Zinta in such an impolite way. How can it be possible? How can Wikipedia take seriously non-serious comments? I think everything must be followed precisely. When somewone says "the article is bad" he just expresses his dislike towards the editor or the topic, and in Sarvagnya's message he even emphasised his POV towards me, which was clearly his reason to delist it. Things have to be checked. When someone says "she does stupid roles" - in other words he says "she is a stupis article that's why I want it to be delisted." That's shocking. I'm not concerned by what they have to say about her. If you see this short video, you'll see [6] how people love her in Holland for example (it's just a little example. There are tons of articles on that). What drives me crazy is their attitude. ShahidTalk2me 18:25, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have no e-mail (but I think all these guys are interacting via e-mail when it comes to say "Hey go and delist" - bad!). Do you know where I can create one? I had quite a serious problem on my com. ShahidTalk2me 18:30, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I will. Have you got my mail? ShahidTalk2me 19:39, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aces Go Places[edit]

It was ages ago I guess since I had a look at the article, Aces Go Places film series. I've never actually watched any of the Aces/Mad Mission films, though they sound like fun. I hope to run across them at some point. Sylvia Chang was just in Bangkok last week for the World Film Fest, but I didn't have the chance to meet her. She's working on a gangster movie, which could be good. I just picked up the Infernal Affairs Trilogy, though I'm not sure how soon I'll get to watch it. — WiseKwai 20:02, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gosh, it's been ages since I've watched Armour of God. I think it was on a rented VHS. That's one I'd like to see again. Jackie Chan is amazing. — WiseKwai 20:19, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tears of the Black Tiger is one of my favorite movies. If you get the DVD, make sure it's the new release by Magnolia. It might only be R1 for the US, but it's worth having and going to the effort to get a region-free DVD player, which every serious film buff should have anyway. The R2 UK release is an edited international version that has some cool bits taken out. — WiseKwai 21:07, 12 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeh that's right[edit]

But please don't take him or her seriously. I don't. He is just someone who wants to make himself important at the expense of good users like you, and great work like yours.

Sarvagnya was warned by one admin like this "Please avoid making personal attacks. Thanks!" because he personally attacked one editor, but he removed the message from his talk page soon after. LOL!

Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 13:56, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK I just don't know what's the matter with him. LOL.ShahidTalk2me 14:12, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have a request. I've strongly cleaned up and toned down the Bollywood article. But I couldn't have removed the tags, to avoid any speculation such as that of 3RR (although it's not a revert, and I've cleaned it). Could you please remove the tags? ShahidTalk2me 14:18, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just be cool! Please don't lose your temper because of him. ShahidTalk2me 14:30, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Blof, the current image you've added to Preity, is watermarked... You took it from the wrong place. Here is the link of the right image, the previous we used. The current one will be deleted I guess. ShahidTalk2me 14:38, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It was just a note Blof I know that it was deleted and removed, and you were kind to upload it. So OK, we'll wait until all the images are deleted yo prove that it belongs to the site. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 14:44, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I understand you because I was in the same situation, but please try to chill over these things. Just be cool, show them your coolness as you've always done with everything. You're one of the most spontaneous editors on here. I don't want you to lose it because of that. Don't get upset.:) ShahidTalk2me 16:28, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pages being damaged[edit]

The best thing I can think of is to do would be to try to get the Indian cinema work group to create a way to check on recent changes to articles. I could try to create a list to be used as the basis for such a function myself, if you thought it would be monitored. John Carter 15:29, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Unfortunately, not much is known about Gunavarma I , except that he wrote Harivamsa and Sudraka and that he was one of the early grammarians in Kannada. Even his works are known from references made in other literatures.Dineshkannambadi 13:10, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for finding the image here. I tried one time but couldn't find any image. Gnanapiti 22:53, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It's hard to find any reliable source on Kaikini's works. Those were the only RS references I could find. I'll try to add some information on Akshara. Again the problem is reliable sources. I wish I could add my personal experiences with Akshara as I know him personally. :D Gnanapiti 23:07, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are some new updates, and someone apparently didn't want to notify you about it, so I do that. Regards, ShahidTalk2me 05:07, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edits[edit]

The things I have been tagging as empty were either empty or almost empty. That is what the tag states. The "stubs" are sometimes incorrectly tagged as well. Some people put the stub tag on the bottom of a crap article. That does not mean that it is still not a crap article. I look at how long the article has been a stub before I tag it.Metal Head 15:59, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Once again...[edit]

The little "stub" tags that have been on an article for over 2 years are worthless. I tag many, many articles and the articles like the ones described will continue to be tagged. I do go to afd but only when it deserves to be so. I've been here since 2001 on various editing accounts.(delete an account a year and start at the beginning of a year) I know what I'm doing.Metal Head 16:07, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Last time[edit]

You are avoiding the point. Those articles WILL NOT be developed. Half of the articles have been made and forgotten. They were tagged at the time of creation. That is it. They are still nonsense/empty/worthless. Metal Head 16:22, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well go ahead and delete it then if you think thats whats best. Something tells me this speedy deleting of article thing is going to increase around here anyway ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"?

I'm sure this one is particularly frustrating as it appeared to be a legitimate source for a boatload of needed images, and you went out of your way to work with the siteowner, whom you trusted, but don't let it get you down. There are plenty of other sources out there that need to be contacted. Thanks for calling my attention to his email. I have replied. I'm afraid I never heard much about the subject above. A User RfC might not be out of line for the other matter, though. John Carter 18:37, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I did notice that. Were such conduct to be repeated at a User RFC however, it would certainly be reasonable to state that a given group of editors seem to regularly side with him, providing diffs as needed. At the very least, it would provide a place where evidence regarding the conduct of the various parties involved could be highlighted for future reference. I can't see how mediation would accomplish anything, and I doubt ArbCom would step in at this point, so it might be the best option available. And it certainly might draw the attention of one or more admins who might be willing thereafter to at least question, and maybe even track, some of the actions of the person in question. And how can we nominate this article for an FAC when all these guys are trying to ruin soeone else's work? I don't know. They are clearly willing to ruin this, interacting behind Wikipedia they intend to enforce their opinion on others. Just see what I have written on the ANI page of this user who caused to our problems. It's clear that they're uniting to make a massive influence on things. See the GA reassessment, isn't that strange that within 30 minutes since Zinta's GA reassessment, all these users - just all of them, voted to delist it. Everything is clear and I'm not going to be silent on this. As said by fowler&fowler, "However, what is more worrisome for me are his "cohorts." These editors seem to turn up, all at once, on different pages, especially when on or the other is in an edit conflict. They have in the past been accused of colluding..." Actually Sivasamudram Falls already has an article. So we can redirect that red link. There's nothing to be sorry about. I have my own set of opinions and you have yours and this exactly is the strength of Wikipedia. As long as discussions don't get into personal attacks, having different point of views is absolutely fine. I believe Sarvagnya is a very valuable editor and it happens that I agree with most of his views. Sunder King[edit]

Esteemed Blofeld, I know you probably know nothing about this but I'm going to mention it to you anyway. I have just noticed that this guy Sunder King got blocked. As far as I could tell from his edits he was a decent editor, he has edited a number of articles on my watchlist. The template on his userpage says refer to checkuser for evidence. It took me a while to figure out how to find the Molag Bal archive (as there are no clear instructions on how to do this on the checkuser page), a look at the page history tells me that no new evidence has been added since September 2007 and there is nothing on there relating to Sunder King (blocked November 14). The Sunder King talk page has been redirected to his user page and protected, so it is impossible to have any debate about it there. This looks extremely dodgy to me, even if he is this guy Molag Bal, surely blocking people should be more transparent and less misleading. What do you think?King of the NorthEast 21:34, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really sorry for blanking the page, I don't know how it happened, I tried to write the message above, and when clicked save, Wikipedia took a while to think about it and when it saved your page had disappeared. I just went back to my edit and the text was there so I saved it again straight away, I have no idea how it could have happened. I'm sure you know I wouldn't have done anything like that deliberately, don't you? King of the NorthEast 21:42, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm O.K. - just sore thanks[edit]

Dear Ernst: thanks so much for your concern. I am O.K. just very sore. I wrenched my back again and I have a deformed and damaged spine which is usually just a manageable nuisance - but at times like this becomes a real handicap as I can only move around slowly with difficulty and can only sit at the computer for brief periods and on pain killers. Very boring!

Wow, I must say I like the look of your friends - they look a lot like mine!!! And those wonderful photos - where do you get them all?

Now I am going for another session of loud swearing and hot showers - which I have found to be one of the most effective treatments for bad backs. Another friend of mine is strongly suggesting I get a bath so I can use his favourite treatment. He says to fill a bath as hot as you can stand it - and keep the hot water dribbling slowly in while playing your favourite music very loudly and eating a whole package of gingernut biscuits (dunking them in the dribbling hot water). He reckons that by the time you reach the end of the packet of biscuits the pain is gone for a while at least. So - I must get a bath set up - I only have a shower now.

Cheers and all best wishes. Thanks for thinking of me. John Hill (talk) 23:58, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blofeld. I didn’t quite make out this sentence, which was sourced to http://bur.rcslibri.corriere.it/sclibro.php?idlb=2938

It was released with greater acclaim in 1969 and in 1995 was reprinted in its 14th edition.

But that page says nothing about either fact. (I’d be tempted simply to drop the sentence unless there’s a particulary good reference to the acclaim of 1969.) Cheers, Ian Spackman (talk) 09:23, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick reply! OK. Yes it was certainly published in 1960 (and won that year’s Strega prize). I’ll move the general acclaim thing to the top and drop the references to 1969. I think I’ll also drop the 14 re-prints by 1995 bit, unless you know of a source: 1995 seems to be an odd year to choose, anyway. But do restore anything I delete if you want to. Cheers, Ian Spackman (talk) 11:13, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOL!! One of things I missed about Wikipedia was talking to you!!! I had a read of the FA discussion for Preity Zinta. I guess the issue for this user was the sources, Im quite shocked about that! Also Im a bit irritated because he/she has totally discredited boxofficeindia.com which in my opinion is a credible source. I thought the licensing agreement for the images was sorted and valid. Don't worry Blof, it will get sorted, hopefully! I was hoping to get your list of films completed before I go again, I promise I'll try and get them done. Im gonna have a read on this new user. HAHA!!! Fat Freddy, looks menacing!! I guess he was the old Freddy Kruger! I know how you feel Blof, it's hard but like you said you've done your bit and we'll see the outcome. In a way, the time away was a cooling off period. I read the discussion and I do not think the user could have held his own without his supporters. What qualifies under non-RS is most of the sources that are used on the Bollywood pages. What about boxofficemojo.com, Im sure it has a page which lists the Indian box office chart? I'll have a look and see what I can do. I'll get that chart finished for you Blof. -- Pa7 13:55, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

I've left him multiple warnings, and to date he hasn't erased the most recent one, which states that if he continues in such conduct at least a user RfC is all but inevitable. I think he may have gotten the idea now. Also, on the Wikipedia talk:Non-free content page, an admin has acknowledged that this editor's actions may bear scrutiny. Should he continue in any such actions, I think definite action (or at least talk, as per a user RfC), is all but guaranteed. If they don't continue, then he may have gotten the message, and it may stop. Personally, I hope for the latter. John Carter (talk) 20:36, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I already created Sin Yaw Mg Mg that you said Zin Yaw Mg Mg. He decribe his name as Sin Yaw Mg Mg. So in ID card and passport he will use Sin Yaw Mg Mg or his real name. You can see his official web site and you also can see history of cinema of Myanmar. --Ekyaw (talk) 17:00, 18 November 2007 (UTC) I will add more photo that edited. Thank u for your suggestion.[reply]

--Ekyaw (talk) 16:33, 19 November 2007 (UTC)== Bollywood films == Heya, I saw that you've split the Bollywood films by year. That's a great idea, it'll make it easier to add all the films, actors etc. The 1970s films should be done eventually. Im doing it bit by bit. Anywayz keep up the good work. Im going to the cinema tonight to watch a good old masala Bollywood flick - Om Shanti Om to be precise. Talk to you soon. -- Pa7 17:56, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The same. It's still PoV. It doesn't matter what decade we are talking about. We have names mentioned in the History section, and I think it's sufficient. You know that Rekha is my favourite, but someone else cancome and say, "Sorry? Rekha? Why not Hema Malini?" and someone else will say, "Where is Raj Kapoor?"... And if we have to be fair, the 2000s are the most successful period of Bollywood, so we can add one image of them, so I think Amitabh can remain there, because he is the only one who has remained a leading actor and a highly acclaimed performer. The image of Bipasha was PoV, but on the other hand -- very impressive. She is fit, beautiful and it gives a good impression of Bollywood, that even though she wears a Sari, she looks gorgeous and stylish.

I think we can add posters. Image:Mother India poster.jpg was there for a long time and once I added a good reason it was reverted by this KNM. I think my reason was OK: "The movie significantly contributes to the article Bollywood by illustrating a typical Hindi (Bollywood) film poster from the 1950s. Additionally, the poster comes from the film Mother India (1957), an academy Award nominated film, simultaneously becoming Bollywood's first film to be nominated for an international honour. Therefore, its use on the Bollywood article as said, significantly contributes to the article." - What do you think? Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 12:12, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It will be very difficult to explain how popular Rekha was. To know that, you must be someone who is involved in Hindi cinema, who's seen many of her films. She was considered the most beautiful actress of her generation, and her performance in Umarao Jaan is still recognized as one of the best in Bollywood ever. Her popularity was something amazing, something like Madhuri Dixit's one. That's why, today every actress finds it difficult to beat Madhuri's records. As for Rekha, she was an icon and the biggest idol of teenagers, all classes of people. I remember seeing on TV that Indian Mumbai prostitutes try to emulate her style, enigmatic image and behavior, sticking her posters on the walls of their rooms. In addition to that, different films frequently mention her as superstar. She was so so so beautiful in the second half of Khoon Bhari Maang (See here - an image of before and after).
Despite alllll this, and me being a big fan, I can't add PoV to Wikipedia. It gives a bad and wrong impression.
What do you think about the image of Mother India? Regards, ShahidTalk2me 12:33, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're roght in a way, but Mukesh was one of the first playback singers in India. I think we can add an image of Bipasha, because it illustrates all the adpects of actors today: glamour, beauty, sarees yet style. Plus, she is not as popular as Preity and Rani, and her name doesn't appear in the history section as their name, so I guess it can be added, because if we add Preity, someone will say that Kajol has to be there, because she is also popular and also appears in the list, and you can say that Aishwarya has to. therefore, Bipasha is a kind of Neutrality because she is not mentioned in the history section and there's no PoV (at least not a bif PoV). Burmese films[edit]

Dear Blofeld... I think I was misinterpreted... That's exactly why I left the message on User:Ekyaw's page, to preempt the deletion/prod due to non-referencing of Ya Da Nar (film). I realize that google is quite less than adequate (understatement) on these films & went to the "expert" to get his input! I had the opportunity many years ago @ an international silent film festival in Berkeley, CA, to see Love and Liquor and was really impressed. Don't want to see the Burmese film articles lost due to the lack of sourcing resulting from the political machinations that have been going on in Burma & the subsequent "blackout" on anything (as of yet)! (P.S. I double-checked User:Ekyaw's "Fair Use" images that he uploaded - only one isn't covered & it's not being used - all the rest look good). SkierRMH (talk) 18:50, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ba Swe[edit]

See Ba Swe image to get idea. I need scanner so I am searching scanner. Later I can add please wait. History related Myanmar will be added and Myanmar Information will be big in web. Most of information( I think 90%) is released in Myanmar Language so because of language barrier, Myanmar and World is far. So as much as I can I will translate to English. Another problem is most Myanmar people do not read new and do not listen new. So they have many knowledge including me. So antigovernment can use media to unstabe Myanmar Country. When Myanmar Country is unstable, only ordinary Myanmar people have to suffer. If you are interesting about cinema of Myanmar you can discover Museum of Film History in Yangon and National of Museum freely but must pay entry fee a small amount. You can also go Army Force Museum to see history, National Library. If you have no time, you can read initial in http://www.elibrary.com.mm/ to read E-book most is in Myanmar Language. Myanmar or Burma[edit]

Hay I am very happy to see the use of Myanmar in Nagani journal published in November 16 1940 Vol.2 No.24. The Nagani journal, is notable in Myanmar History, use Myanmar in Myanmar language. I thought my name is Ekyaw. So with E can u call me Kyaw. Your voice will be wrong. Dont worry. Some foreigner friends, most from US and UK, cannot call my name. In my passport I use Kyaw. But they use John or voice name Gyaw. Like me most of foreigner use burma when they arrived to Myanmar may be in 1800.--Ekyaw (talk) 19:51, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deborah Kerr has acheived GA Status ! It is a James Bond article as she was the Bond Girl on Casino Royale (1967 film). She was 46 and as beautiful as ever. She holds the record for being the oldest Bond Girl in any of the James Bond films. Yet another GA for the James Bond Project !

Sorry for the tagging, it seemed to be vandalism. However, I don't think the redirect is appropriate -- simply mentioning a particular thing does not warrant a redirect. If the controversy is sustained, it might warrant a mention in her article; at present, though, it seems more like tabloid fodder than actual, encyclopedic information. My advice is to wait it out. -- Merope 15:52, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

National Library of Myanmar[edit]

The workload would probably be staggering, but it would be awesome to get our metaphorical hands on some of the contents of the National Library. Not only the books, but the paintings, photos and everything else they doubtless have would be wonderful to have access to. If we can get such materials, my own familiarity with the languages there is kind of embarrasingly poor, but I would be very willing to do any copyediting or other work on such content. Let's hope that the person at the library realizes that we would be able to ensure his contents continue to exist by placing them here. And I think WikiSource would love to have any books they might make available, regardless of language. I very much hope that this works out. If there is anything I can do to help it along, let me know. John Carter (talk) 21:17, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Our Burmese friend[edit]

I've had a look at Ekyaw's contributions and am duly impressed. I'm caught up in some other projects and outside issues at the moment, otherwise I'd help with the grooming efforts. Mainly, I'm concerned about any notability issues. People can be really pig-headed and insensitive sometimes.

It's pretty cool that Burma has the oldest film industry in SE Asia, and that the film actually exists to this day, somewhere.

Giro is back and I expect to see the SE Asia task force started up in the coming days, so it will be on to another project. — WiseKwai 21:38, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Film lists[edit]

Hi ya! I've completed a large chunk of the horror section, but work still needs to be done. I've completed fantasy and science fiction as well. I'm working on making a quick list for that "avant-garde" film section, then I'm going to get going and finish up "Crime". Why? Is there a big need for me to get going and finish up making the list of american films by year? :) Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:11, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, sorry. I was just remembering that I promised I'd get back to working on those lists as well. Horror is almost done, i'm just building up the time period so I can just attack and finish up the 1970's and 1980's horror films. Avant-garde is a reletively short list, so I could probably complete it all today. Andrzejbanas (talk) 22:28, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Film stubs[edit]

I will try to add the year category and the standard film infobox each time I create a new film stub. I did not ignore you last time. I simply stopped adding entries in the List of Egyptian films article because I no longer have access to the book I relied upon to expand the list. I will probably have access to it once again next June, so if I have enough time next summer I will start adding new entries in the list until it becomes exhaustive (the book I used did contain a list of ALL Egyptian films !). BomBom (talk) 11:22, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK, I will try to create the redirects in the films' original languages. But how did you find the poster for the film The Girl with the Pistol ? Was it already there (and if so, where exactly ?) or did you upload it ? I have done a lot of things on Wikipedia (text edits, redirects, complex tables...) but I have never tried inserting or looking for pictures, probably because I am a bit intimidated by all the tough copyright requirements. BomBom (talk) 11:38, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for the help ! I have just created an article about the Japanese film Immortal Love (1961) according to the guidelines, and will try looking for a poster of it so I can upload it. As you may have noticed, all the films for which I have created stubs were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. I have been working a lot to improve the latter article for a couple of weeks now. It is currently a Featured List Candidate, so your comments for improvement and/or support for candidacy are always welcome. BomBom (talk) 11:57, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for helping with the upload ! It's not that difficult after all ! I was also thinking of creating Category:Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award nominees ! Almost all of the nominated films have Wikipedia article of their own (except 3 films, for which I am going to create stub articles pretty soon). I think such a category ought to exist. Let's go for it ! BomBom (talk) 12:34, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes, I noticed that you have created a new category for nominated films and almost filled it entirely ! Great work ! The category should eventually include either 255 films (if we also include in it winning films, since winning films were also nominated films) or 204 films (if we exclude winning films since they have a category of their own). What do you think ? Should we also include winning films or not ? As a sidenote, there are now only 2 nominated films which lack a Wikipedia entry. I am going to create stubs for them right now. BomBom (talk) 13:50, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi ! I just wanted to say that you did a really good job in filling the new category for nominated films. The total number of entries doesn't coincide with my calculations, so I'll try to see what's wrong and fix it. I have also just noticed that you changed the background colour in the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film article. I really do not like the new colour. There has already been a small debate around the colour to be used (see the article's talk page and the discussion in the Featured Lists Candidates page), and consensus seems to have been reached around the buff colour, which was chosen because it was both visually appealing and reminiscent of the gold colour of the Oscar statuette. Therefore, unless you explain to me why you decided to change the colour, I think I will revert your edit. Best regards. BomBom (talk) 15:45, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yes ! That new colour is definitely better than the silver one ! BomBom (talk) 16:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yep! The new colour looks really nice. And you're right in saying that it's better than both the silver and the buff backgrounds. But what do you think about the article as a whole ? I nominated it a week ago, and there have been comments from only one user until now (extraordinarily negative comments, I should say !). I don't know if it stands a chance, since it needs at least 4 supports to pass and right now it has none besides the initial nomination support. BomBom (talk) 16:24, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only thing we're waiting on is administrative formalities to make the task force official, and to get the article tagging underway. There's nothing keeping anyone from working on articles about SEA film. — WiseKwai 17:28, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film looks good. I'll be interested to see if it passes FL review. — WiseKwai 17:59, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Featured article is a very big deal. Too big a deal for me to ever get involved with. It's too hierarchical for my taste. I never sought a master's degree because I knew the amount of ass-kissing involved would be unbearable. Other folks can work on FA's. Not me. The GA and FL review processes are much more low key, collegial and rewarding.

Some of the articles on that Oscar list were only just started as the list came under review - there's a lot of potential for growth, just by clicking on a title on that list to see what's there. Wikipedia's come a long way since it started, and people had to write articles about "cat", "dog" and "water". Getting into foreign films is pretty advanced stuff. — WiseKwai 18:40, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's up: Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Southeast Asian cinema task force. We can start tagging articles anytime. — WiseKwai 08:54, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's up?[edit]

Hey friend Blof! How are you doing?

I've gone through the WikiProject and was surprised to see that it was moved. I noticed that you moved the page and redirected it as I asked you. So I redirected it from Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Indian cinema task force to its original version. You can see my explanations on the talk page. I can't see why we can't work as an independent project, and still being a part of Wiki project India and Films severally. It's of course still a part of it, as it has it has automaticalle two names.

I have only one request to you... The lead of the project looks somehow very loaded with all these templates with the ToC within them... As you understand way more than me in terms of style, could you please organize it to make it look better? ShahidTalk2me 18:36, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know that it isn't you. That's why I said, "I noticed that you moved the page and redirected it as I asked you."
I've already redirected the page and BTW there was no concensus at all, so I don't have to clarify myself. I came here for help... Not because I'm unhappy, but whatever... ShahidTalk2me 18:47, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Blofeld, the project is no longer separate. It wasn't moved and redirected in vein. It now has two names, while the original name is the current one. Tell me, why American films are not part of it? ShahidTalk2me 19:03, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Many are active actually. A quick glance at the list says that many are (of those I know) - Dwaipayan, classicfilms, you, me xC, utcursch, Haphar...
As for WP Indian cinema, the initial move (which is now redirected), made it automatically a part of WP films. WP films links to it as "task force" or whatever, and those who want to enter, will get into the right page, only the name is Indian cinema... That's all. And I din't come to argue over this. I came for help re style and page look... ShahidTalk2me 19:19, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I just can't get why you shifted our whole discussion to the project talk page.. I din't come to ask you for opinion on the redirect. I asked you for help re look... Please remove it. It even looks one-sided vcoz my messsages are not there... ShahidTalk2me 19:26, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly! Blofeld, please remove your messages from the project talk page. They are irrelevant. I don't understand why you shifted your messages to this page. I just left a note. what's the co-relation of these three messages there? ;) ShahidTalk2me 19:40, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Blofeld for your kind words. I think you guys misinterpret my motives. That's not the case of credits etc. I mean, we'd had a WikiProject when it suddenly turned into a sub-page. Now, what's the problem with moving it for a while and redirecting it to its original version? Then we'll have a sub-page of WP:FILMS and a leading WikiProject simultaneously. Why not? It was my intention. That what makes me feel that the title is the only reason behind this move. the title. And why specifically WP:FILMS? Why not making it a sub-page of WikiProject:India? As a sub-page, nobody we'll look at it. It will lose its contributors, and that's my biggest concern. ShahidTalk2me 21:41, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hungary[edit]

I changed the first two names of the list to the format I think you meant. If I'm right, let me know and I can change the others to conform to that style. If you meant something else, show me an example and I can change the names accordingly. Regarding the template, I'm guessing you mean Template:Hungarian art. Personally, I like the side template better, because it's a bit more visible and obvious than the bottom kind is. That template looks good, although I imagine you'd be adding in collapsible sections to include all the various names. Anyway, let me know the specific format of the names you want and I can try to change them accordingly. John Carter (talk) 18:44, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rivers[edit]

The Balinţi River had an error which I corrected. Thank you for poiting it out.

As far as the stub templates are concerned, as agreed upon, I am putting in each article a stub template with the river basin. I have also corrected many, probably most, of the old entries checking the stub templates. The Romania geo stub is used only if a certain river crosses various counties. I sincerely believe that I have in good faith tried to stick to our agreement. From time to time I still find some errors which I am correcting.

As far as the completion goes, I first want to finish with the set-up and then get into more detailed articles. Sometimes I am lucky and some good Samaritans come in with additional information. The second step will be to identify the structures existing on each river. Thereafter the flood damages, a.s.o. Hope to still be alive.

However even at this stage, Wikipedia is the only place on the internet where somebody can get a consistent (and in time complete) picture of the hydrologic network of Romania. If not they would have to lose days to get the information (even if only where the river is and where it flows to. I started this part of the Wiki rivers project because I sometimes needed the information and it took great efforts to find it. But I don't intend to rock the boat. If there is anything else I am doing wrong please let me know.Afil (talk) 22:11, 24 November 2007 (UTC) Afil (talk) 22:11, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course everything is possible. I was trying to stick to what was previously decided in the river project (and in other places) that there is no limit to the size of the rivers and that each river, however small could have a separate article. So I tried not to reinvent the wheel and to stick to what was decided. It is difficult to continuosly change the approach. I have other arguments too but this is the main one. Afil (talk) 22:18, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Then let me tell you how the project started. I was sent on a USAID sponsored mission to help the Romanians set up a flood warning system, which they finally did. The result was that they were issuing warning about what would happen on various rivers but somehow, nobody seemed to know where the rivers were (except the Institute which was issuing the warnings). As a result the institute was happy that the warnings were issued, but the people were flooded and kept on reporting that they never knew that they even were in danger. Probably the problem could be solved by maps, however most maps are copyrighted and cannot be posted on the internet, and are not commercially available so the people cannot buy them. It is not that the people do not have computers to get the information. Many complained that they did not know and that the floods destroyed the computers which were on the ground floor or basement indicating that they would have moved them if they knew what it was all about. And this is the information I intend to compile. As time goes by, I can use the warning reports and the damage reports which are posted on the internet for separate events and show what happened on each river.

Besides many of the rivers, especially in the mountain areas have a turistical importance. Some have speologic importance. All this should eventually show up. Again I am concerned about disaster management. There was a river valley in the mountains, where some ski competition was organized. Six people died in an avalanche. The hydrologic institute simply stated that they are not concerned with avalanches. The weather people stated that they are only concerned with water before it falls to the ground. The sport officials said they had no idea that it was an avalanche prone area. However people died. If I can help at least create an awareness that this information has to be readily available, maybe I can help save a life. Even if it is only one, doesn't it have merit?

I am not a kid playing with the computer. This can become a serious matter, of course if people start using it properly.

Actually my first intention was to publish a book on the matter. The problem is that a book may not reach the people and may not be available when they need it.Afil (talk) 22:35, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just hope that I could make you aware about what I am trying to do. And that it is not just a game. I appreciate any help I can get from anywhere.Afil (talk) 22:41, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No offense. Just joking. But I was trying to get the information into the Romanian Wikipedia too. There are difficulties because most of them don't understand the concept of Wikipedia. Thank you for your support. If you are ever interested, I can tell you stories about disaster management in several parts of the world. With no other purpose than a chat.Afil (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 22:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could. Of course in time. The problem is that this would be personal experience. It would be acceptable in a book. It would be more difficult in Wikipedia where I would have to indicate references for each chapter. And writing a book and then putting everything into Wikipedia seems rather far-fetched. But thanks for the suggestion.Afil (talk) 22:54, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re:Hitchcock[edit]

Hi mate. Good thanks! Yep, I've been working on an early Hitchcock film without an article (!) - Always Tell Your Wife this morning. Lugnuts (talk) 10:04, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello Blof! How you been? I know I did a disappearing act again, but Im up to my neck with work!! I gonna need to take a break from Wikipedia for a bit. I'll try and get your list finished ASAP. I think I should be back for mid-December. I sent a message to Shshshsh about the Zinta page. I suggested expanding the tv appearances because I think it's a bit unfair to single out one tv appearance like Koffee with Karan when she's done many more. I'll see what he thinks of that. I dunno if you know but I sent a message to User:Alexfusco5 after he/she reverted your edits on the Bollywood film pages. I guess it's all sorted now. Hope your keeping well. Say HI to Mr. Bigglesworth from me!!‎ LOL!!! -- Pa7 20:55, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your overheated!! LOL!!! You added the films which is brilliant, I can sort out the rest. Studying is sooooo hard, but it's gotta be done. You both have a point with the project. I need to read up on what's happening. Kind regards. -- Pa7 21:47, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Indian cinema move[edit]

You're clearly angry with me because of my style-Sarvagnya behaviour. Please don't, friend. I'm not doing this because of pride, good title, etc etc etc. I only now noticed your initial message to me. I'll explain to you tomorrow. Good night to you. ShahidTalk2me 22:19, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks so much for your note, and for working on those two articles. I am glad that people to see that people appreciate the contest for what it is--a chance to really improve Wikipedia, especially in those areas that are most vital to its reliability as an encyclopedia. In answer to your question, I have been poring over articles for the last few months, and have found many shockers, though the one that really disturbs me most is not on the contest list: Psalm 23, probably the best known psalm, is a jumble of translations and useless trivia, without any content to speak of. I look forward to seeing your entries. Danny (talk) 22:47, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I fully agree with what you say. I have long been disturbed by the overwhelming amount of pop culture available on Wikipedia, while there is a complete dearth of good information about solid, substantial topics. I was shocked to see that there is no article on deforestation in Brazil, and have just searched for Fauna of Brazil, hoping to find something there as well. In fact, I think I will add these two topics to the list for the contest. Danny (talk) 23:17, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What you say is truly worrying. I did not realize the scope of this. I can only do what I can, but I invite you to add any of these major topics to the contest. Perhaps that might provide people with some incentive to write about these things. Danny (talk) 17:20, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Go right ahead and add them. I will vouch that it has my approval. I know of no project currently that tackles these issues. Danny (talk) 17:34, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi There[edit]

You sure do know your movies. Thanks for the tips. I also have been trying to build up the 1993 movies page! Happy Holidays! Tj999 (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 23:06, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you've a moment, can you come over and take a look at this article? The formatting is buggered. I came over to alter the link on Hammett to Hammett (film), because I moved the article, and I found a bloody mess. It is in need of attention. Cheers! ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 23:35, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

American Films of 1980[edit]

Hey man no problem. I just recently went to the article and it looked pretty bad... Everything was outta place and disarrayed. I had never even edited anything before. I had to look at other articles in order to learn how to do it. It was definitely time consuming, but I plan on doing more.

Indian cinema[edit]

I am the one who received threats from Girolamo when I moved the page. There was no concensus. No! He just moved the page without prior concensus. I didn't turn to Ganeshk because he is an administrator. I turned to him because he objected to the move initially.

Yeh, I also wonder, why specifically WP:FILMS? Because Girolamo is a coordinator there and needs more task forces? Why not call it WP:WikiProject India/Cinema? And you call me biased? That's biased. Not me.

Now, re pride and whatever you talk about, I don't act because I want an independent WikiProject, but because I want more and more editors to work on it. People usually don't bother even look at task forces, let alone join them. This project is now somewhere there... a little part of WP:FILMS. Where are the results? Where ae more editors? Even one participant hasn't joined the project yet. That's the result. Editors don't take these task forces seriously. That's why I say that this project is gonna be ruined. However, if it was a WikiProject for itself, it would definitely attract more people to it. I told Girolamo and I told you - I want to see results. There are no results and the'ye not so likely to come. Am I wrong?

To make you and your friends happy, I just removed my section from the Indian related topics page. But I want an answer and I want to understand how it helps the project, if not the opposite.

Tell me, am I wrong? Will it help? I want you to give a list of advantages. Are there any at all? Regards, ShahidTalk2me 08:01, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The same message was sent to Girolamo, but my message was ignored, and nobody answers. If reply to my question doesn't come, I'll re-add my message to the Indian noticeboard, Blof. ShahidTalk2me 09:27, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've had enough, Girolamo ignores all my messages and even removes them. I've re-added my request on the noticeboard. I tried to collaborate. I've had enough. I'll turn to some more adnins. ShahidTalk2me 11:30, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Film bios group[edit]

As I believe we've discussed before, since the expansion of WP Films' scope, I've wanted to formally embrace the biography articles in a coordinated manner with the Film workgroup of WP Biography. Since you are one of the key contacts with that group, I wanted to run the basic details through you. In essence, there will be virtually no changes on the part of the group itself; the biggest difference is mainly that the {{Film}} template will be expanded to include a "Film biography" task force, which will link directly to the current group. (Of course the tagging is where the real "heavy lifting" for WP Films will be.) Since the articles are first and foremost biographies, it is more appropriate for the group to remain there under the larger Bio guidelines. The Film template changes, however, will allow us to concurrently track the articles and also sort them by our task forces (such as nations and regions). My only other suggestion would be for the Film bio group to formally self-identify as a workgroup of Bio instead of as a separate WikiProject - this makes sense considering that the group has no independent banner, and it will also lessen confusion when identified as a joint group of WP Bio and WP Films. Let me know your thoughts! :) Girolamo Savonarola (talk) 08:52, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images in lists[edit]

Before saying "rubbish" and showing that national parks list, you could've seen some FL's and their criteria. List of birds of Trinidad and Tobago contains para's on its birds, so images prove useful. But List of Harry Potter films cast members has just wikilinks, so would you like to have minutely informative pics there? Same is the case with the list that The Wild... had painted. Vikrant Phadkay (talk) 14:58, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Devon Aoki[edit]

Hi, Blofeld. Would I what? Looks like the article is pretty well started, but needs a knowledgeable hand to clean it up a little. She seems to be an American fashion model/actress-- not subjects I know much about or have much interest in. I'm sure there are editors who will take up the subject, but I'll stick to my Korean and Japanese subjects, who seem to have few dedicated editors. Thanks for the note though. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 17:30, 26 November 2007 (UTC) Now the birds list has also changed! Vikrant Phadkay (talk) 15:05, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nepenthes rajah[edit]

I don't know as much about plant articles as many other kinds, so I don't know if the hidden sections are acceptable under FA criteria or not. Some of the sections could use more reference citations, because I've generally seen that they prefer 2 per paragraphs for FAs. There are a few single sentence paragraphs which should be merged together as well. Those are the only reservations I can imagine about this article though. John Carter (talk) 14:19, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Line[edit]

I have no idea why the line may have disappeared. The fundraiser banner doesn't impact it on my settings, but I don't know if those are the same ones you use. Maybe check the "My preferences" link and the "Skin" tab. I have had my settings there changed by mechanical goofups in the past, and that might be what happened to you. It sounds like you use MonoBook like I do, so maybe check to see if that's where it's set for now. John Carter (talk) 14:34, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Thank you for your message. I actually was prompted to write The Scientific Cardplayer by my interest in Bette Davis, whose filmography I'm trying to complete. I really am not very familiar with Italian cinema, but I appreciate your drawing my attention to it. P.S. I like the sense of humor displayed on your user and discussion pages. MovieMadness (talk) 17:51, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What??[edit]

LOL, why wouldn't I want to speak to you? What makes you think so? We are friends, and any project can't ruin that. Yes, I was offended when you called me biased, but it doesn't mean that I don't want to speak to you. I'm quite surprised that you think so. Perhaps because I didn't reply to your last messages? Well, sorry, but I replied on Girolamo's page. How are you doing? do you feel better? What is this list? What does it make? Best best best regards, ShahidTalk2me 18:35, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

mmm cool, but the Bollywood article needs a majot a huge improvement in terms of writing, citing sources (there is a biggg miss), MOS problems etc etc.
I really didn't about this project. I personally feel better editing articles like Salman Khan's one. It makes me feel very good, especially because my work is not being ruined by some other users. Not that I'm looking forward to some status or assessment progress, but improving it feels better, to make it as comrehensive and readable as possible. I'm yet to improve the career section. 90% of what was added to it in the last three-four months was added by me. Cause most of the edits there are just vandalism. Yesterday I took on cleaning it up, I've added some things to the personal life, added more to the career section, will clean-up the controversies, format references, create missing articles etc. Although he is one of the most successful actors in the country, I think he is highly underrated as an actor in particular. Best regards, ShahidTalk2me 20:42, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are you serious Blof????? It's a damn BRILLIANT ARTICLE!!!!!! Bravo!

I'm just shocked. Nobody would never believe that this onew is a one day old article. You are exteremely talented. You are likely to be the winner of this prize. Cheers!!! ShahidTalk2me 21:24, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had a long an tiring discussion with Amar on the Peer review page, Wikipedia:Peer review/Preity Zinta/archive1#Taran Adarsh
And now, there is a new forum Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics#Critics' opinion in Bollywood related articles...
Please participate.... Regards .... ShahidTalk2me 12:32, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nguyen Manh Tuong[edit]

I'm not sure where you got your information regarding the Nhân Văn affair, but the information you presented in Nguyen Manh Tuong about it was fundamentally wrong. It wasn't the intellectuals rebelling against the French by any stretch of the imagination. I fixed the error. DHN (talk) 19:17, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BomBom[edit]

Greetings! Didn't ignore your request, was quietly lurking/watching to see what would happen... It appears BomBom (contribs) has gone on to other pastures now looking at his edit history. Apparently your discussions either worked or dissuaded him from further types of edits. If it starts up again, drop me a message; may be something in the long term that Wikipedia:Long term abuse would have to deal with, but that doesn't seem to be the problem as of yet! Keep up the great work! SkierRMH (talk) 02:22, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dropping in uninvited[edit]

I have just noticed your post to Deep, and I guess I have two comments to make:

  • Will it be possible to make the Film by country navigation box collapsible? That way it won't drive up the length of articles when they are being read.
  • For the Film rationale template probably you need to add two more things - (1) a way of putting in the name of article it is being used on, as people are getting sensitive about this; (2) something about critical commentary, a huge tool in case of an IfD.

I hope I didn't distract you too much from the imprortant task of taking over the world or blowing up one Mr. Bond. Cheers. Aditya(talkcontribs) 07:36, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This filmposter template really blasts. I didn't understand the reason of not understanding, though I think there was a misunderstnding in my understanding that the other template was meant to be transcluded onto image desciption pages. I remember seeing one fair use rationale template used that way. I guess, your templates are to be used as guides, not transcludable templates. Bomb away. Cheers.
