February 2022[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you make unexplained changes to information on Wikipedia, as you did at ESPN4. Please stop moving current-day articles to their old names. This isn't an appropriate page move and will continue to be reverted. Nate (chatter) 15:09, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I just left a message here on your talk page; Fox Sports in Brazil no longer exists and has become ESPN4, thus you're moving it back to an old page. We don't back-date articles. Stop doing so. Nate (chatter) 15:16, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The network changed its name, thus the article should remain existent under the ESPN4 name. This is the last time I'll repeat this, as you don't seem to have an understanding why the article has been returned to its proper name. Nate (chatter) 15:26, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

October 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into BT Sport ESPN. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. BT Sport 4 and BT Sport ESPN are one and the same. ViperSnake151  Talk  15:25, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Wcquidditch. I noticed that you recently removed content from 20th Century Studios Home Entertainment without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Your contributed article, BT Sport ESPN[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, BT Sport ESPN. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – BT Sport 4. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at BT Sport 4. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ViperSnake151  Talk  15:31, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying and pasting page content[edit]

Don't copy all the content of one talk page to another, as when you copied Talk:BT Sport 4 to Talk:BT Sport ESPN. Doing so serves no useful purpose, and can cause various problems, such as leading to fragmentation of discussions, giving editors the misleading impression that comments about content of one article are about content to be found in another article, and making it difficult for editors to find out what comments and discussions refer to. The last of those happened to me: I wasted quite a bit of my time searching to find where the material was which was referred to in discussions. On the few occasions when there is a legitimate reason for quoting part of the text of one talk page in another one, it is essential to state that you are doing so, and where you are quoting it from. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Disambiguation link notification for July 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Star Movies, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fox Movies. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

October 2023[edit]

Warning icon Please refrain from hijacking pages as you did with Star Life. Should you believe the subject you were writing about deserves an article, please use the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version that you can then get feedback on. Also see Wikipedia's disambiguation guideline which indicates how to handle separate subjects with similar names. If you continue to hijack an existing article, you may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions, you are always welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Nijika🥁📐 01:16, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@NijikasDorito: How were the edits at Star Life a hijack? The dab page was replaced by an article that covered both the disambiguated entries. What did you find objectionable in the user's edits? Also pinging NmWTfs85lXusaybq, the first reverter. Jay 💬 14:12, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
They did a copy-pasting from Star Life to Star Life (disambiguation), which is against WP:MOVE. Any new topic should at least start in a separate page to be reviewed, let alone it immediately took up the primary topic without any consensus. NmWTfs85lXusaybq (talk) 14:50, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree on what NmWTfs85lXusaybq said. I have no opinion on whether if the content they added in Star Life meets WP:GNG after doing a cut-and-paste move on Star Life to Star Life (disambiguation). Nijika🥁📐 14:53, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@NijikasDorito and NmWTfs85lXusaybq: So do you agree that the edits at Star Life which you reverted were not a "hijack"? And if "Star Life" is properly moved as "Star Life (disambiguation)", and the reverted content comes up at "Star Life", is it fine? I understand that Nijika already has no opinion on the GNG, and if there is concern it should go through Star Life's talk page or AfD. Jay 💬 10:22, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jay: Note that, the current rough consensus from the latest RfD, in which you participated as well, is disambiguate per no primary topic. It's always fine and not a hijacking or against the consensus if Espyul starts a separate article with a disambiguator in its title to distinguish itself from the primary topic. But my concern persists as long as their article is linked from the dab page without being properly reviewed or moved to the base name without any further consensus. As an administrator who got involved in the former discussion, it's you who has the responsibility to follow the due procedure to discuss this again with the community through Star Life's talk page or AfD if you're trying to make Espyul's article into the primary topic.
