Thanks for the input[edit]

Thanks for your input on the Jeremy Sowers article. I wasn't entirely comfortable with using words like "gem" and "sterling", but I was running out of adjectives to describe superlative performance. "Gem" is a term commonly used by sportscasters when describing a particularly well-pitched game. "Sterling" is just something that I came up with out of my fatigued brain. I may leave "gem", but I'm going to try to come up with something other than "sterling" since it really isn't a very common adjective in today's American English vernacular.

As for the amount of baseball jargon, it's difficult to avoid since there are so many concepts that really can only be succinctly described using those terms. I think most of the jargon is at least wiki-linked so that a reader who is not familiar with a term has something to refer to. Also, as a baseball fanatic since I was old enough to hold a ball in my hand, baseball jargon is second nature to me. Are there any terms that you found particularly jargony?

Thanks again ... --Sanfranman59 17:53, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
