This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Erik Telford (activist), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Erik Telford. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Explanation[edit]

Hi Erik, there are a few problems with your plan to make Erik Telford a disambiguation page between articles on the activist and yourself:

  1. You are cut-and-pasting the content of Eric Telford into Erik Telford (activist). Instead of cut-and-paste, use the Move tab at the top of the page to move an article.
  2. There is no need for a disambiguation page. Even if you are notable, the original Erik Telford can stay at that page, and a hatnote placed at the top of the article saying "For the musician, refer to Erik Telford (musician)."
  3. Your article on yourself is not up to Wikipedia's standards. First off, it's never a good idea to write an article about yourself. If you're notable, someone else will write about you (and I don't mean someone from your family or friends - someone unrelated who believes you deserve to be included in an encyclopedia). Second, your article did not show why Wikipedia should have an article about you - please read the notability guideline for musicians. If you do not meet any of the criteria listed there, then there should be not be an article about you on Wikipedia.

I suggest that due to the problems of conflict of interest, if you do decide to recreate the article about yourself, create it in your userspace, e.g. at User:Etelford78/Erik Telford (musician) and ask someone to have a look at it to make sure it meets the criteria before reposting into article space. Hope that helps you understand what's happening here, and please ask if you have any questions. Regards, Somno (talk) 08:27, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
