Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Indian uprising.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Indian uprising.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:01, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Sapna Parikh, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Help
Hey. I saw this diff [1] and there was the {{fv|date=January 2008}} tag on line 125 (or around there). For that link (right here:[2]), you have to put in the city and state abbreviation before you get the information, but there is not separate url for that. Is there a way to fix this? Where can I find article's talk page and with whom should I discuss adding the links? I want to add links to a PHP Editor to the list of PHP Editors. This list already contains links to other editors. Why don't you remove those links and remove my??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ilyalyu (talk • contribs) 12:13, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

What to do about a user who will not listen or communicate
Could you please assist with a relatively new user, User:Sumerophile, who has repeatedly been adding parent categories (such as category:sumer, category:mesopotamia, and category:ancient history) to every one of the Sumerian king articles, that are already in subcats (such as category:sumerian kings). I have asked him numerous times over the past few days, including on his talkpage, to read WP:SUBCAT and at least engage in meaningful discussion as to why he feels an exception should be made, but he has not deigned to address this question at all, and instead continues to revert me without explanation whenever I remove the parent cats on all of these articles, and back and forth it goes. He will not listen to me and is becoming increasingly hostile, and I have also been trying for some time in vain to get any 3rd party to take an interest in the overall situation with this and other issues, to no avail, so I am asking for help anywhere I can get a response. I noticed you have dealt with similar questions before. Thanks, Til Eulenspiegel (talk) 02:34, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Hey!
Hey, can you check over this article I've been working on? Shaker Heights, Ohio. I've expanded it, and as you worked on the Cleveland article, I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks! SpencerT♦C 01:04, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Mulogo.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Mulogo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Dmoz.org.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Dmoz.org.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Speedy deletion of Image:Herb score.jpg
A tag has been placed on Image:Herb score.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Herb score.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Could you check these 2 pages, to see if they work for you. The second was created to bypass what's now Brandywine Creek (Christina River), which seems like a clumsy way of doing things to me. There's the question of redirecting all the former Brandywine Creek links to Brandywine Creek (Christina River) if for some reason this isn't done automatically - could you pitch in on that? Thanx. Jm0371 problem images
I feel comfortable deleting the aerial views, mostly of airports, as I do not see how they could be his/her own work. I strongly suspect the courthouse images are all copyvios. I looked at a few of the Hiram College photos and tried to find them on Google Images and could not. They may be from another source or they may be genuine.
I would be glad to go through the list and delete the aerial views. What do you think? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:05, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I will go through and delete the aerial views. I have no trouble with the courthouses going either. I will leave a note on the user's talk page. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:51, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
- The aerial views are all deleted. Just by looking on Flickr I found the copyvio source for about half the courthouse photos and deleted them. There are still many courthouse pics, which I am OK with deleting them. I am fine with deleting any of the .png images. I wonder if some of the .jpg images of Hiram College are genuine? I looked on Flickr for Hiram College but could not find any of them (did not look super hard). There are also some state maps of counties in Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia - I also can not find the source of these. What do you think? Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:42, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- OK, all of the courthouse .png images have been deleted. I found a few free ones on Flckr to replace them. The rest are either odd maps I should be able to find copies of but can't or .jpg images which I also can't find duplicates of (I have not looked very hard). I do not plant to delete any more images without more proof they are copyvio. My gut tells me that the college photos at least may be really the user's own work. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 17:11, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, I saw that the page had been blanked, but missed its restoration. If any more copyvios are uploaded by this user, I think it will be a indef. block and I would have no trouble deleting the rest of the images. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 03:27, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it's a postcard. But it's not a photo, it's a painting. It's out of proportion. However, the caption doesn't show anyway. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 21:49, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Shaker Heights
Thanks for your comments. I'll be sure to keep them in mind. As for the famous natives section, I'm planning to add a seealso link when I create a culture section (like Houston, Texas). Right now, List of people from Shaker Heights, Ohio has some refs, though it could also use some more. As for the pictures, I'm planning to use my camera this summer and do my best to take some pictures of area sites. Thanks again for your really helpful comments! SpencerT♦C 23:28, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Question: American Planning Association
EurekaLott, the American Planning Association page was my first attempt at wikipedia editing. From what I understand you reverted it back to its original version because the information was copied from the website planning.org. Isn't it possible to retain the substance of the added material while changing the language, if the information is indeed accurate? Also can the website give its permission to use copyrighted material? Thanks for your help.Curiouz (talk) 15:56, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Redirect of Don Schreckengost
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Don Schreckengost, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Don Schreckengost is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Don Schreckengost, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Cleveland Browns from 1996 to 1998
Hi, since you're one of the major contributors to the article, I was wondering if you could point me to a (reliable source) that mentions what happened to the team from 1996 to 1998? I know why they did not play during that period, and the information is also in the article, but there is no source; I'm looking for a source for another article I'm working on. Thanks in advance! Gary King (talk) 18:06, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- I should also mention that I've spent some time searching for a reference but cannot find one that adequately sums up what happened during this period of time. I think the problem is I'm not using the right search terms, as I'm not quite sure what the period in the team's history was called. Gary King (talk) 20:14, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, I think I found something promising in Henkel, Frank M. (2005). Cleveland Browns History. Arcadia Publishing. ISBN 9780738534282. Gary King (talk) 20:18, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Picture request
I see you're involved with Cleveland and indeed apparently know the area better than I do. If you're in Cleveland, could you perhaps try to go to the Southworth House and see if you can take a picture or picture to show what's not in my picture that's in the infobox? It's just been listed as a good article :-D and the only thing that the reviewer said was that it would benefit from more pictures. Nyttend (talk) 02:25, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. I'm glad I live where I do; we've had either clear weather or very patchy clouds for many days :-) Nyttend (talk) 22:32, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
