Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Superquinn. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Angel Of Sadness T/C 16:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Superquinn

[edit]

Hi, Eurocanna. I noticed the message you left AngelOfSadness, and so I went ahead and looked at the edit you made to the Superquinn article. Being an experienced Recent Changes Patroller, I found several problems with it (no offense please, I know you're knew :-]): first and most notable, you included the words "I" and "my"; these should pretty much never be used in the encyclopedia portion of this site unless it's inside a quotation. Second, the info you added was completely about a personal experience. Wikipedia does not allow original research. Any infomation that is not cited or verifiable may be deleted per our content policies. Therefore, in light of all this, AngelOfSadness was well within her rights to revert your edit. I'm sorry, and I don't mean to sound judgmental (I have made plenty of mistakes on here too; my latest being an image that was a copyright violation :-]), but that's just what our policies state. If you have any questions about this, I'd be delighted to take them. I hope this doesn't discourage you from contributing in the future. Happy editing! -- P.B. No problem, I understand. I think it's great that you're trying to protect people. And as far as AngelOfSadness's comment goes, well, you'll have to excuse her :-) You see, Wikipedia has a list a standard warning messages to give to editors who contribute in a way that doesn't follow our policies and guidelines. What I think happened is that Angel was patrolling the New Pages using a vandal fighting program (Twinkle), and she accidentally clicked the wrong button and gave you warning number two, instead of one. The message she should have given you would have looked like this:
Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.
I'm sure Angel was just busy trying to revert a lot of different vandal edits (we get a lot, you know), and she just made a mistake. Oh well, even we computer nerds don't always get things exactly right :-) Happy editing! -- P.B. Pilhet 03:05, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
P.B told me of the situation and I believe I owe you a very belated apoligy. I reviewed your edit to the page and I see that you were just trying to warn people. It mistook it as vandalism and I'm terribly sorry for that and for issuing you the wrong warning. What P.B said above is the truth as I use Twinkle give out warnings, but now it has been improved so now I have less of an excuse to make a mistake when giving warnings. You have to understand that your edit, while is it not vandalism, it did contain original research(as you found out from experience) and unsourced claims. Now it would have been better if I gave you a warning about these but I was preoccupied with several other wikipedia related things at the time. I'm really sorry and I hope that my silly mistakes didn't discourage you from editing wikipedia. All the best AngelOfSadness talk 19:54, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes we're very good now and we can leave that behind us as it's been sorted out. Anyway, I didn't know you lived in Ireland. I guess I should have known that with the Superquinn edits as it's an Irish supermarket. I hope you're used to the weather difference between Holland and Ireland by now. :D AngelOfSadness talk 16:23, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: your edits to the aforementioned article, you are incorrect. Van der Sar did not play against Blackburn, and so his record is still ongoing. – PeeJay 11:40, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aerfort listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Aerfort. Since you had some involvement with the Aerfort redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Si Trew (talk) 20:26, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
