I have nominated Attack State Red, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Attack State Red. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Woody (talk) 20:38, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you reverted my changes to the article on Richard Kemp and I wish to discuss that reversion with you. My changes were designed to remove any notion of advertising or self-promotion from the article and were designed to help the article meet the Manual of style here on Wikipedia. It is designed to follow a chronological biographical structure as is convention on these types of articles. Please note that all biographical articles on living persons must follow the Biographies of living persons policy and must therefore be neutral and verifiable.

The article as it stands at this moment follows the Wikipedia guidelines and policies and as such should not be reverted without due discussion. If you wish to discuss this, please leave a note on my talkpage (User talk:Woody) or open up a discussion on Talk:Richard Kemp. Regards, Woody (talk) 22:12, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies if I seemed overly formal and my apologies if I put you off editing. Sincerely, that was not my intention. You might want to read the page regarding ownership of articles, it describes better the free-editing ethos of Wikipedia. There are no official editors or formal editors when it comes to articles, in that sense Wikipedia is the encyclopedia that "anyone can edit." I am an administrator but that gives me no control over content. I have been here a while though so generally I have an understanding of the manual of style and how a page should look in terms of its structure. If you look at the featured articles (particularly the [[WP:FA#Warfare|warfare section) articles such as Arthur Ernest Percival have a particular structure and that is what was imported onto the Richard Kemp page.
It was certainly not my intention to degrade the article; if you think that has occured it would be helpful if you could tell me how you feel that has happened and then we can discuss a solution. I haven't actually deleted much text I have mainly reorganised and restructured it. If there are any typos then please fix them, that is the idea behind Wikipedia.
In terms of improvement, we need more information on his early life as is seen by the rather barren "early life" section. Who were his parents, where did he grow up, any information on his family?
Sorry for the length of this reply but I do hope that you will continue to edit Wikipedia. Regards, Woody (talk) 00:09, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
