Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edits to Michael Golden, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept unsourced material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, or obtained through personal knowledge or unpublished synthesis of previously published material. Wikipedia requires that all material added to articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. Feel free to re-add that material if you can accompany it by reliable sources independent of the article subject.
Also, you removed sourced content the article, specifically, the passage sourced to Marty Klug, but without providing a rationale for this in an Edit Summary. When removing material, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page.
In addition, here are a few other tips to aid in your editing:
- The Lead section of the article (that is, the section that appears before the Table contents) serves as an introduction to the article subject. Placing a second one at the top of the career section is redundant.
- Sections such as the Career section are generally written in chronological order. You might notice that the material that was at the top of that section details the beginning of Golden's career. Placing material on his recent work makes the section chronologically inconsistent.
- Vague or dated terms like "recent" should be avoided, as per WP:DATED, since they do not tell the reader anything. Please use specific time references instead.
- In the formal tone of an encyclopedia, subjects are not referred to by their given name. Please see WP:SURNAME.
- Only the first word and proper nouns are capitalized in section headings, as per WP:SECTIONHEAD.
- The word X-Men is not written X-men.
- The individual items in a list, such as the locations in which Golden has taught storytelling, should be separated by commas, and not the preposition to, and not an ellipsis.
- If you need help on text formatting, you can find the information on this at WP:FORMATTING. Italics, for example, which is the proper formatting for book titles, are created by placing two apostrophes on each side of the desired text.
