Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Alexf(talk) 14:10, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

No compensation is received for edits. The citations are put as both a paper written in a language other than English, as well as a link to a blog post which translates the relevant section of the work into English. In general, the plan is to keep making edits where citations to relevant sources have not been provided and where lists can be expanded. Books of Jeremiah (talk) 15:06, 1 October 2022 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Account renamed. I am removing the block on the basis of your comments here, agreeing to formal edit requests(see WP:ER) and that posing directly from your organization's website isn't appropriate. 331dot (talk) 13:27, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What is your association with the website? Note that one does not need to be specifically paid for edits to be a paid editor, any paid relationship triggers the disclosure requirement. 331dot (talk) 19:31, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, apologies.
My relationship is that I as a pro-bono editor in my free time. Just to help them polish up their translations. After reading through their materials, I got curious whether some of them were referenced on Wikipedia, hence my editing yesterday. Books of Jeremiah (talk) 06:18, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay; you would still have a conflict of interest. Please read WP:COI and explain how your contributions related to the website will be consistent with that policy. 331dot (talk) 06:56, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I would be perfectly alright using the "Request Edit" function to put them through a layer of scrutiny.
The subjects that the website deals with are generally 80+ years old, mostly translations of primary and secondary historical sources, so adding in the factual data from there in terms of names, dates, etc. should not be a problem. Books of Jeremiah (talk) 07:45, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
