Editors edit what they want to

[edit]

There is no "having" editors. Editors edit whatever they want to. All of them are volunteers. No one gets paid. (OK, an exception - there are people who ask to be paid to write articles, but they are not Wikipedia employees, and are held to a much higher standard when they attempt to create or edit articles.) David notMD (talk) 03:27, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Thank you for the info. I was never looking to be paid anyways. That was never my intention of my query. Exactaman (talk) 04:23, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. On an article by article basis, there are often editors who take an interest in the topic and put it on their Watchlist. This means that every time that article is edited, they are notified when next logging into Wikipedia. They don't "own" the article, but can be tough on new editors who may not understand all of Wikipedia's guidelines. Good luck in your endeavors. David notMD (talk) 08:50, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest?

[edit]

I see that most of your edits are additions of a link to content at PASTTHEWIRE. Do you have any connection to this media outlet? Paid or unpaid? If so, certain Wikipedia rules apply. David notMD (talk) 09:09, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No conflict of interest. Media outlet had done quite a few historical pieces on many different subjects. The Ruffian external link that appears to have been changed appears in several locations on the internet, even on USA Today and was Syndicated as well as a book was written. Credible source of information on the subject. Can we change it back? I had populated content from that media group on certain subjects yes, while I also planned on using other media outlets and other types of content that I am aware of as well that are important and relevant. I stated earlier that I wasn't seeking to be paid for being here and that also meant off of here as well. Have I done something wrong? Exactaman (talk) 10:10, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
