First line in the history section "Maternal-fetal medicine began to take shape as a discipline in the 1960s" doesn't seem concrete enough for introducing the history due to the use of "take shape." When you mention amniocentesis please include what it's about (amniocentesis, ___________, ). Red link Liley. Maybe change heading to "training and role" to ensure last half of article isn't deliniated as all about training. Overall, good work!

Major Points

[edit]

• I’m not sure how much information is available on this topic, but maybe a section could be added on common procedures or common issues that arise during pregnancy. This could help to make the article more all-inclusive of the subject. • Because it was mentioned that a title change could be beneficial to a more universally used term, Perinatology, the title could be changed and then Maternal-Fetal Medicine could placed in parentheses for those who still refer to this subject in that way. Just a suggestion! I would definitely agree that the title switch in general is a good idea. Under the WP:perfect article on Wikipedia, it mentions that an article should have a good title that is easy for others to link to, therefore the more universally used term would be favorable. • Might need to add citations for the first section. Where did this information come from?

Minor Points

[edit]

• Could link more terms to their respective Wikipedia pages. After looking at well-established articles, many of them are riddled with blue links throughout the article. For example, this article words like obstetrics and amniocentesis could be linked to articles. • Is there a picture that could be used for this topic? The WP: perfect article suggests the use of appropriate images to better help convey the topic to readers. • Looks good so far! Organization and language look very appropriate.

Peer Review Take 2

[edit]

Everything looks great, you've done a lot of work with this. Make sure to link various medical terms to their respective WP pages so that readers can go find more information as we discussed in class. Outside of that I would just caution you again on language seeming to still be a little bit too high in a couple cases, such as "Maternal-fetal medicine specialists have training in obstetric ultrasound, invasive prenatal diagnosis using amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling, and the management of high-risk pregnancies". There are ways you could make that multiple smaller sentences, use different words, or at the very least link to the WP pages for words like "ultrasound", "chorionic", "amniocentesis" etc. Looking good, if you want me to read through a final draft before it gets moved into live let me know!
