Merge proposal

Hey Faithless. There is a discussion regarding the merge of Luna Lovegood at Talk:Dumbledore's Army#Merge proposal. As a regular contributor to the article and to the HP topic you might be interested. Cheers! --LoЯd ۞pεth 19:30, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, Opeth, I'll give it a look. :-) faithless (speak) 03:12, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Discoveries - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:29, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. I've commented on the discussion. faithless (speak) 00:42, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Radiohead FAR

I have nominated Radiohead for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. 70.21.58.96 (talk) 03:01, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Audrey Hepburn

Hello Faithlessthewonderboy. I just wanted to drop you a note saying thank you for helping in protecting this page. I also wanted to let you know that I have filed a request for protection here [1]. If accepted we should get some peace for a time. Otherwise I know that you will keep up the good work of protection. Thanks again and cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 21:52, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

It's been my pleasure. I had been considering requesting protection myself (obviously it would be inappropriate for me to protect it myself, since I edit the page), so you've got my support there. :-) faithless (speak) 22:07, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Mathews/Matthews

Hi FtWB,

I dropped Vaoverland a note about something odd I came across. As you were the originator of one of the two articles, I figured I should ping you as well to get your take. You may want to make any comments on Mark's page for now, to keep the initial discussion in one place.--Kubigula (talk) 05:23, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Interesting...I'll take a closer look at it when I get a few minutes. faithless (speak) 21:07, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Deletion

Hi FtWB, you deleted the page I created, "Australian Free Poker Leagues". There are lots of other "list" style pages on Wikipedia. What would need to be added for it to not be deleted? Make it worldwide? Add the word "List"? TopPokerPro (talk) 05:56, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello, TopPokerPro. Wikipedia has certain policies and guidelines which must be adhered to when users create articles. In my estimation, the article you created did not meet these policies and guidelines. Please read Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted?, Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. If after reading these you still have questions, I'll be happy to answer them (and I'll reply in a more timely manner than I did this time). faithless (speak) 08:17, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

sdre

Sorry about that. I didn't mean to insult you. If I did, then I apologise. Above all, your contribution to the SDRE page is welcome. Neon Flow (talk) 16:58, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Not a problem, apology accepted. Just remember, we all make mistakes. :-) faithless (speak) 08:12, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

I must question the version you've reverted to. The article needs clean-up and NPOV. At the present, the current version is poorly constructed and far too biased IMO. CassiasMunch (talk) 09:47, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Are you actually arguing that this was a positive contribution? Surely you jest? faithless (speak) 09:49, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
No, not that, my apologies, I missed that addition. I was referring to User:Douglemeister edits. I have since issued a final warning to this user for vandalism on Gavin Newsom. It appears he has responded by stalking my edits. CassiasMunch (talk) 10:02, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
I see. No problem, apology accepted. :-) faithless (speak) 10:08, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

Mindless Self Indulgence's music video Mark Chapman

I don't understand why you removed my addition of "The video for this song portrays Chapman as a hero, killing emo band members and inspiring fans to rebel against them. A key lyric announces 'Ladies and gentleman, Mark Chapman!'"

About Lisa Cuddy

Thanks for the invitation to join Wikipedia and the tip on reverting changes. I was (and am) a bit tired and just didn't log in or edit the most efficient way primarily out of lethargy. Have been meaning for a long time to contribute more heavily to Wikipedia, but as of now, I simply react to pages I chance upon. I suspect knowing that even the faithless devote a good bit of their time and energy to Wikipedia might just help overcome my long-standing inertia :). Viggyjiggy (talk) 09:40, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion tag on Mr. Squeaky

Hello!

I am not trying to complain or anything but the article Mr. Squeaky may qualify for speedy deletion. For some reason that tag was removed. The article contains utter nonsense. Calvinps (talk) 10:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

The tag was removed because the article is not nonsense (to see what is meant by nonsense, see Wikipedia:Patent nonsense). The article certainly deserves to be deleted, but it doesn't fit the criteria for speedy deletion. faithless (speak) 10:15, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: 'Phobea' page deletion

Hi faithless,

I apologise for not really understanding the rules and way in which Wikipedia works, although if the reason for deletion is that I had created a page about myself, it is wrong. I am Phobea's digital marketing manager, and though I represent him, I am not him.

If proof is required that Phobea is a genuine bona-fide artist, please search Google and YouTube and you will see that he has performed at events such as the MTV HipHopOpen in Germany, with crowds above 20,000, with artists such as Xzibit, Fatman Scoop, and starred in a Channel 4 UK TV series "Chancers" that averaged 5 million viewers weekly, becoming the most watched TV show in the UK during its airing. He has had songs played on Hot 97, did a track with Fatman Scoop and has been interviewed live on the extremely popular E4 Sunday morning TV show by Vernon Kay and June Sarpong.

I must admit I did 'submit' the page before it was finished, but only because I couldn't find a way to save it as a draft. I am all for community editing and was hoping to create the page as a jump-off point for other contributors. Creating a page from scratch would be a daunting task for most contributers.

Please could you advise me how to bring the page more in line with the WikiPedia guidelines, as it seems wholly unfair to allow musician pages for artists that have barely performed in front of 100 people, but disallow a page for an established and known artist such as Phobea simply because you believe the page to have been created by him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Airstep (talkcontribs) 13:41, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

-Edit: I am extremely upset now. I spent a great deal of time creating that page and you have deleted it without warning.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Airstep (talkcontribs) 13:51, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Requesting help

I'm really not sure how to deal with User:Douglemeister. He continues edit-warring on the Ralph Nader article, not using the article's Talk page, etc. Your advice/assistance would be most welcome. Thanks for listening CassiasMunch (talk) 08:50, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi CassiasMunch, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I see that you suspect Douglemeister of sockpuppetry; I'll keep an eye on it, and depending on how it turns out, we'll take it from there. Cheers, faithless (speak) 06:09, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Ducks

Ducks are brilliant pets for all ages and will lay you several eggs a day. Domestic Ducks such as Kharki Campbells will happily live with just a washing up bowl full of water each day as their drink and bath. They will eat lettuce, meal worms, frogs and other insects. —Preceding unsigned comment added by RedPanda111 (talkcontribs) 07:41, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip. faithless (speak) 07:43, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of Danny Pacheco

Hi there. You recently deleted the article on Danny Pacheco as it was a redirect to Dani Pacheco which recently was deleted after AfD. You may not be aware that the is a little separate history to the Danny Pacheco article.

An article was created about a musician named Danny, which also was deleted at AfD and several editors recomended that it be salted as it had been recreated several times. However, this didn't happen because of Dani Pacheco who is a youth footballer at Liverpool FC, and it was felt that salting Danny would discourage writing about Dani (with me so far?).

As both have now failed AfD, I don't know whether you think it's worth salting Danny Pacheco in case it gets recreated as per recommendations at its original AfD. Just thought I'd bring this to your attention! Cheers. --Ged UK (talk) 08:13, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Done. :-) faithless (speak) 06:09, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Deletion of cultural reference on Mark David Chapman page

Hope the surgury went smoothly. Anyway, I had previously asked why you had removed reference to the music video Mark David Chapman by Mindless Self Indulgence. I didn't see an answer, so I re-added but with changed words top make it more accurate. If you see a problem with the sentence PLEASE let me know what it is. I think it's noteworthy (over 75,000 views on youtube in the couple weeks the video's been on) and relevent (Chapman is portrayed as a hero). Cormacs (talk) 15:38, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Cormacs,
Thank you for the well wishes, they're much appreciated. I have to apologize for not responding to you in a more timely manner. It was in no way a snub, just an oversight on my part. As for why I reverted your addition, it was basically just sloppy editing on my part - I reverted several poor edits that surrounded yours, which just got caught up in it. I didn't target your edit specifically, and probably should have been more careful. It was just an example of lazy editing (nobody's perfect :-P). I hope no offense was taken by my poor behavior. faithless (speak) 01:28, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
