Re: A Wikiquette alert

Hi! I posed a request last night at Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts, asking for an administrator to speak to an unregistered user about Wikipedia norms and expectations. To date, this user (who edits from several addresses; I noted the three I am aware of) has only removed content from pages, and when he found his deletions reverted, jumped on my case personally. So far, no admin has taken action... but two non-admins have more or less gone in on his side.

One pointed out that edit summaries (which to date he has not used, and got snippety when I mentioned them) are expected, and he was nice as pie to that editor about it, while he keeps copping a 'tude with me. I am concerned that leaving him be, or that kind of "action", will not encourage the user to follow guidelines, and could create a Wikimonster. I have expressed my concerns on the Wikiquette page, and do not wish to pursue this further; it's plain to me that this user is just going to resent, or gloss over, things I try to tell him, based on what I have seen. (I am also disappointed that non-admins have responded to a request for an admin, and have noted as much.) If you're not interested in speaking to him, could you please pass the ball along? (I am sorry if looking into this involves much reading; I did my best to answer the user point-by-point.) Thanks. Zephyrad (talk) 21:34, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

Um, never mind, I guess. I have now had my head bitten off about this matter, by another admin (who also appears to have missed my point) on the Wikiquette page, and I'm tired of it. Meanwhile the unregistered user has been backhandedly encouraged to become an even bigger problem in the future. So much for trying to help, or be a good Wikipedian when I see trouble. Slytherin

Sorry to bother you, Faithless, but I just saw your "If ever a word didn't need to be linked..." edit reversal. Thanks for the laugh. :) Beemer69 00:18, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

You're very welcome. :) faithless (speak) 00:57, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

While reviewing speedy deletion candidates, I was drawn to this AfD. Forgive me if I'm missing something, but I don't see where the author requests deletion. Thanks —Travistalk 21:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

The author placed a speedy deletion tag on the article. Cheers, faithless (speak) 21:03, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I just realized that. Sorry for the confusion... —Travistalk 21:05, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Not a problem. faithless (speak) 21:06, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Sirine

Hello! :) In March 2008, Sirine was nominated for deletion. At the time, there was no suitable page for this article to be redirected to, so based on the consensus, you deleted the article. I have created a new page, List of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st edition monsters, which would be a proper destination to merge and/or redirect the article to. I'm wondering if it's possible to restore the original article, and turn it into a redirect, thus preserving the edit history? Thanks!  :) BOZ (talk) 00:35, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't see this yesterday, the below post was made in between you leaving this and me seeing the page so I must have glanced over it. Anyway, you've made a reasonable request, so I've restored most of the past edits (discluding copyvios) and redirected to List of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st edition monsters. Cheers, faithless (speak) 14:34, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Ooh, there was copyvios? Did not know that... well, thanks again!  :) BOZ (talk) 14:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, it appears the initial edits were copied from some other source, so I kept those deleted. :) faithless (speak) 19:16, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Hello again! :) I was wondering if you would be amenable to also restoring the edit history of Spirit of the Land and redirecting the article to List of Dungeons & Dragons 3.0 edition monsters? :) Thanks! BOZ (talk) 18:06, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, once again! :) BOZ (talk) 18:08, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

CfD

Hi Faithless. I come here just to inform you that Category:Harry Potter magic and Category:Hogwarts have been empty for more than four days, so they can now be deleted. The articles covered by the HP magic cat are now included in Category:Harry Potter universe, which is much more appropiated for articles like MoM, Quidditch or Hogwarts. Cheers! --Lord Opeth (talk) 00:50, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Taken care of, thanks for pointing that out, Opeth! faithless (speak) 03:06, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Hogwarts students

Here I made two drafts to have us an idea of how the articles will look like:
