Hello Fantaboy, and welcome to Wikipedia! The first thing you should know is that we encourage you to be bold. Feel free to edit and improve articles, by clicking any 'edit' link.

If you'd like to test what Wikipedia can do, check out the sandbox - just type and save the page and your text will appear. That's the beauty of a Wiki.

For more information check out our tutorial - it's designed with newcomers in mind, as is the help section. If you'd like to get involved with current projects, have a look at the Community Portal. There are always tasks for users to do, ranging from copyediting to expanding stubs.

I hope you'll enjoy your time here, but be warned, it can become addictive! Feel free to message me, I'm more than happy to help. As an added tip, sign any message you post so users know that you've said it. To do so is delightfully simple, just use the wikicode ~~~~.

Once again, welcome!

Transfer to Wikimedia Commons

[edit]

Hi, I've transferred your image Prestocheltenham.jpg to Wikimedia Commons (where it can be used more widely). This means the copy here at Wikipedia might be deleted- but it's still usable in articles here, of course.

Just to let you know in case you thought it had disappeared. All the best, Ubcule (talk) 19:54, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Come to think of it, Wikipedia would still retains a "mirror" copy of its Commons page, so I probably didn't need to point that out anyway. :-) Ubcule (talk) 19:56, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Prestocheltenham.jpg

[edit]

File:Prestocheltenham.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Prestocheltenham.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Prestocheltenham.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 10:55, 16 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Truck from the Presto Foodmarkets Stockton Fleet 1985-1990.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Truck from the Presto Foodmarkets Stockton Fleet 1985-1990.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:05, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am unsure about whether the copyright status of this image is correct and so I have asked a question of those more knowledgeable than me. Any comments you would like to make would be welcome at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions#Is File:New old presto.JPG Free?. Thryduulf (talk) 22:04, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:New old presto.JPG

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:New old presto.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you object to the listing for any reason. Thank you. Kelly hi! 15:05, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Prestobag.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Prestobag.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 15:25, 5 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
