Sourcing of medical and health-related content on Wikipedia is guided by our medical sourcing guidelines, commonly referred to as MEDRS. These guidelines typically require recent secondary sources to support information; their application is further explained here. Primary sources (case studies, case reports, research studies) are rarely used, especially if the primary sources are produced by the organisation or individual who is promoting a claim.
The Wikipedia community includes a wide variety of editors with different interests, skills, and knowledge. We all manage to get along through a lot of discussion that happens under the scenes and through the bold, revert, discuss editing cycle. If you encounter any problems, you can discuss them on an article's talk page or post a message on the WPMED talk page.

Lipidema[edit]

Greetings from another editor on Wikipedia. It looks like you are off to a good start with editing. I would like to let you know that your article has some questionable references and probably not enough references. I would like to help you out by helping to edit the article by using references that meet WP:MEDRS - a fancy name for reliable medical references. I also edit medical articles and it can take a little getting used to. I'll check back with you in a bit.

Lipedema[edit]

Hi Fdrs, I got your message. Regarding the lipedema page's research section, there were several issues with it. First, there were bare links in it. Second, we generally do not just provide links for readers in the middle of the page showing them the research. A research section should really be filled with a summary of the areas lipedema research is currently exploring and have high-quality secondary sources compliant with WP:MEDRS cited for support (I suggest having a look at WP:MEDMOS for more details). If there isn't much research yet, that's okay. We will wait for the research to emerge instead of trying to predict what will happen (see WP:CRYSTALBALL). After taking a look myself on PubMed, I agree with you that there isn't a ton of literature on the topic (this is likely because it is so rare), but there is a fair number of review articles discussing the topic that are very usable (I would suggest starting with either of these free review articles: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23231593 or http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22301856). One example of a research directions section I can recommend as a model of what to do is in the featured article celiac disease. Please let me know if you have further questions.
