hi there, this band does follow most guidlines for bands, and is not "recreational". we have edited the bands page so that it is a little more conservative, as more valid press comes in from the world. however, this band has been reviewed and acknowledged by the top New York press, and has signed to 2 independent record labels of note in NEW YORK CITY : brekfast of champs records --and Impose records ( a division of Impose magazine ) thank you for your time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Feelingfine89 (talkcontribs)

You misunderstand my use of the word "recreation". I don't mean it in the sense that you took it, but in the fact that this article was previously created, then deleted, then created again. A "2nd creation" = a "recreation". Clear? - UtherSRG (talk) 04:48, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for making that clear, about its "recreation." Although, i am a different user and have never created this page before.

Im glad to see this band's page fall into most guidelines of a band page, and is truly valid in accordance to wikipedia regulations. This article asserts significance in both world press,a record contract with 2 indie labels, and actual radio airplay. thank you for your help. This page is NOT a "recreation", meerly a similar version, made by a different user, with more references etc. 13:19, June 1 2010 (UTC) Feelingfine89 (talk)

If this band has coverage in world press, please provide said coverage as a reference in the article (mind you, it must be a reliable source). And there is a significant difference between NYC radio airplay and national radio airplay - this band must have had the latter to be notable. In other words, unless this record contract manages its music and/or this radio airplay (has) broadcast(s) its songs throughout the United States of America and/or another country (and not just in New York and neighbouring states), the band shouldn't have a Wikipedia page. Thank you for your input. There will be a revised addition to the page, including specific printed articles, with dates and referenced authors.
According to wiki guidelines, as long as a band WP page has an equal dispersement of notible leading press, vaild record label status, and raido airplay, then it should be fine. The main factor, really, is the band page being able to illustrate significance within all three parameters, as this page clearly does.

Feelingfine89 (talk) 18:40 June 1 2010 (UTC) CHECK THE REFERNCES.

Unreliable sources have no place on Wikipedia as references, and unless reliable references can be found that assert this band's notability, its page will be deleted. Let's see... (number in brackets corresponds to in-text reference number in the article Total slacker)
  • [1] Neither scholarly nor high-quality, and therefore not reliable as a news source per WP:RS.
  • [2] Low-quality, insignificant webpage; not a reliable source for WP.
  • [3] Self-published sources (including blogs) are not considered reliable here.
  • [4] The source may be reliable, but it only mentions Total Slacker in passing and has no connection whatsoever to the statement for which it is listed as a source ("Breakfast of Champs" doesn't appear anywhere on the page).
  • [5] See #3.
  • [6] Appears to be self-published, and therefore unreliable. Furthermore, the article seems unconnected to the rest of the website.
  • [7] Self-published and provides virtually no useful information.
  • [8] See #3.
  • [9] While it confirms the corresponding information in the article, this is not a national radio broadcast (it's a New York university radio station; if it were national, people in California - for example - could tune in to the station).
  • [10] See #1; also appears to be self-published.
  • The MySpace page link at the bottom should be an external link, not a reference.
I have checked the references, and none of them "assert [the band's] significance" well enough for it to have a Wikipedia article. And could you provide a link and direct quote of the Wiki guideline that indicates that it "should be fine"? Neither WP:BAND nor WP:N states this at all.
