Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Renewal6 (talk) 11:59, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was only updating the page to reflect a new release. I'll write from a more neutral perspective. However, what was the problem with the newer image I uploaded? Finnriester (talk) 09:24, 19 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Heartfeldt Records, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Request reason:

I am a college student, and one of my assignments was to draft, and write a wikipedia page for the label Heartfeldt Records, as I am studying entertainment law at Arizona State University. Apologies that I have never used wikipedia before, however, I am in no means writing these as advertisements or promotions. Solely trying to pass my course, and inform others about the label. Very disappointed that the wikipedia users are not more supportive and helpful. Finnriester (talk) 20:11, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your entry Draft:Heartfeldt Records was about as far from an acceptable Wikipedia article as is possible. Every single sentence is promotional. Even if you didn't intend to write it as an advertisement, it definitely came out that way. What else would you like to write about on Wikipedia? --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 23:24, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

So because the first article I have ever tried to write on wikipedia reads like a promotional thing I am blocked? Why doesn't someone else try and suggest more than a simple "this is too promotional, no." Where can I get a wikipedia administrator or user who can assist in this instead of just shut me down and block me right away? On top of that, I found the article to be quite informative and don't see how you find "every single sentence to be promotional" Finnriester (talk) 08:57, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Yes, we have a low tolerance for promotional editing. We don't apologize for this. Your text was blatant promotion, this wasn't a close call. You wrote about a Dutch record label, if English is not your primary language you might be missing why exactly what you wrote was promotional. Wikipedia is not for merely providing information and is not a place to just tell about something. That is considered promotional here- you do not have to be talking up a subject or selling something- but you were talking up the label. ("Heartfeldt Records is a label dedicated to the freshest electronic dance music.", "This synergy creates a comprehensive ecosystem that nurtures new talent and connects them with a broader audience. The label's mission is to amplify the voices of rising artists and offer them a platform to showcase their creativity, all while establishing itself as a formidable presence in the music industry.") Virtually your whole text read as if a company representative wrote it to attract artists or sell albums. (If you do work for the company, please see WP:COI and WP:PAID) Articles need to be written very dry, with a neutral point of view, without embellishment or promotion, summarizing what independent reliable sources with significant coverage say, not what the subject says about itself(such as what it sees its "mission" as). Since you don't think you have done anything wrong, there are no grounds to remove the block. 331dot (talk) 11:00, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
