Image

I have marked the following images as lacking fair use rationale:

There are several reasons why these photographs do not qualify as fair use:

  1. It fails #2 of non-free content policy, as these images belong to photo agencies and news organizations, and the very purpose of these images are to be sold as commercial content. Use of the images on Wikipedia is exactly the same as their market role.
  2. You've placed the "historic image" tag, but they do not qualify under our definition of historic images. Images themselves are not historically significant. When we say "historically significant", we mean things like the moon landing, D-Day, etc, not a sporting event that happens every year.
  3. If you simply wanted an image from CL matches, there is plenty of amateur photography out there. Perhaps not professional quality, and not close enough to the action to your liking, but if the idea is to show these matches, the images are perfectly replaceable with free alternatives.
  4. Most importantly, these images are decorative. They do not describe anything beyond what is explained in prose. Fair use does not apply to decorative images.

Thanks. 98.204.112.111 (talk) 17:46, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you will hold off in accepting the nomination until, let's say, five hours from this writing, I may co-nom you. If you don't hold off, I can't/wont. I may also advise you against it, but if I do, I will be totally willing to help you get to be ready for adminship by coaching you. <DREAMAFTER> <TALK> 14:44, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, but will you still want coaching, or not? <DREAMAFTER> <TALK> 15:18, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE Adminship/Admin coaching

I think you're probably right not to accept the nomination just yet - I looked through your contributions, and although you have a good edit count (2575) and good contributions to football-related articles, you need more experience of processes such as XfD before you're ready to become an admin. I'd be happy to be your admin coach if you want, and in a couple of months you'll be ready to run for RfA. WaltonOne 20:46, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What?

What are you refering to on my talk page about silly questions? Happy Holidays!! Malinaccier (talk) 21:49, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Liverpool FC logo.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Liverpool FC logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:18, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coaching

You mentioned on the admin coaching requests page that you were just nominated for RfA, but I couldn't find your RfA. Could you point me to it please? The Transhumanist 01:27, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blockings

Hi F9T,

Before I begin, I'd like to thank you participating in my RfA discussion. However, I'm confused by something, and I hope that you can clear it up. In the edit summary, you wrote, "Sorry, it's the blockings." I'm afraid I don't understand what you meant by that. It seems as though you're saying that you couldn't support because of my being blocked; however, I have never been blocked. I look forward to your response and, again, thanks for participating. Cheers, faithless (speak) 11:21, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFA

I saw on your RFA where you declined you said "I am only being nominated for my wikicup". Just to let you know that when I nominated you it was because you had excellent contributions and I had no idea you were doing the wikicup.Just to let you know.I am not making you nominate yourself again, it was just something ihad to say. 18:05, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Re: WikiProj:Awards

Nope--that's the only contribution I plan to make for the sole reason that I'm not much of the award-designing type. I mean, I can slap a no icon behind a barnstar on InkScape, upload it as .svg and find out that the code screwed up, reupload as a .png and I1SD the other one, but that's about it.

Reverted your edit

Hi, I reverted this edit, as although the source is in a non English language, WP:RSUE allows this as long as there is no English language source available of equal quality; I have not been able to find such a source. It also requests that the original text is quoted, which is what I added to the source, otherwise I would have deleted it myself. John Hayestalk 11:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
