Sandbox[edit]

Hi, a sandbox you created FictionalYang/sandbox has been moved to User:Flameman957/FictionalYang/sandbox - personal sandoxes for preparing articles belong in user space. Thanks for your edits JW 1961 Talk 20:40, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not create hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at User:Flameman957/Fiction2024/sandbox. Doing so is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Bait30  Talk 2 me pls? 03:28, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

MPs[edit]

When it comes to newly elected MPs, please note the following:

  1. Do not start the article at all until you can cite at least one news article that states in words that the person has been declared elected, because an article must cite at least one reference before it's allowed to even exist. It is simply not so critically urgent to rush the articles into place right away that waiting until you can find a proper source would be the end of the world; people are not going to die if the articles about new MPs aren't started until tomorrow morning.
  2. Never create an article without categories on it. The moment you click save the first time, the article absolutely must already have at least four categories on it: "Members of the House of Commons of Canada from [Province]", "[Party] MPs", "21st-century Canadian politicians" and "Living people". Creating an article without categories on it is not acceptable.

So, again, to summarize: the categories must be there from the start, and at least one proper reference must be in the article from the start, and getting the articles started is not urgent enough to waive either of those requirements in order to rush the articles into place immediately. Bearcat (talk) 03:16, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

And the generic national results table is not an appropriate source. You need a bylined news article that specifically uses written words to name the specific MP and the specific riding you're citing the source in. Bearcat (talk) 03:25, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Flameman957

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MPGuy2824, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Rick Perkins, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
